  1. I don't know if 'cute' is the right word. But it looks really good. Could you show us the backside and the Belly?
  2. @Rishon N: I think his idea is to create a topic where you could share current offers of technic sets. So other users might get a chance to grab them as well. There 3 such threads over at the German afol forum "Doktor Brick": one for LEGO Brand Store bargains, one for online retailers and one for Brick@Mortar shop incl. chains.
  3. Pure eye candy. The colour sheme makes it look really elegant. I think the white body with the red pin strip stretches it optically. Your first photo makes it look like its not LEGO at all (for the unexperienced eye).
  4. I really like this. Great MOC of a small machine. To bad you did not submit it to the TC8 Crane Contest which ended last weekend.
  5. Thanks for your effort and this nice review. I'll give this set to my wife for xmas.
  6. How about a truck-trailer-combo with a side loading combilift for cargo containers.
  7. I'd really like to see a video doing 20km/h with the trailer. Looks good so far, but in my impression the trailer dimensions do not match the truck. Look too high and bulky, with its wheels being to small.
  8. This morning on an local flea market: a used 8294 including Power Functions kit (no box, no instructions) for 28€.
  9. Cool idea. Would have never thought of a tool like this.
  10. Take your Time. As long as it makes you happy, just keep building at a speed your comfortable with. I tend not to rush it as for me the pathway is part of the goal ( building is some kind of therapy). If you can build such a large set in a couple hours - fine. If you need days - no one will object. Happy building!
  11. @Samolot: This is just stunning. It looks great. Great details (folding stairs and reeling), and the simulator platform is phenomenal. The Black colour works great. Are the outriggers able to lift the whole truck?
  12. Way to go KevinMoo. Looks even better than version 1.0. Great job. I've built your first forklift and was really impressed. I'm looking forward to building this beauty. The small steering wheels make it look more realistic. I guess having the front wheels powered improves traction a lot (which was a problem with the first version). Nonetheless, great presentation and photography.
  13. Am i the only one who thinks of Jackson Pollock? http://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2015/jun/19/why-jackson-pollock-painting#img-1 Great stuff. A case of serendipenty.
  14. @ 896gerard My apologies - i didn't intend to offend you nor sound rude nor play down your efforts. It's a great prototype. I was just thinking that i saw something like you part before. Both solutions seems to have their advantages: Alasdair Ryan's driving ring is a "1-Part"-Solution, allowing the use of the driving ring extenders. Your solution has far less backlash and fits through a small turntable. Could you show us your solution with a fourth axle? I'm curious. Won't it get to flimsy, especially when it comes to bracing the gear connections?
  15. Great presentation. The idea with the small turntable is just great. Non the less, it's basically the same part Alasdair Ryan came up with about 3 three years ago. He sold a couple of those via BrickLink for testing purposes. Edit: Here the Topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=91235&hl=%2Bdriving+%2Brings
  16. I relie on Eneloop rechargable batteries or the Amazon Basic rechargable batteries (the white ones as the are just rebranded Eneloops). I thought about those relative new Ni-Zn batteries. But according to my web research they seems to be quite expensive (you need a new/special charge and the batteries are not cheap either) and not very reliable. Eneloops may have lower initial voltage but they hold the current for longer.
  17. Outstanding display and ingenious engineering.
  18. Thanks a lot to both of you Sheepo and Blakbird. I think i'll make this my fall project.
  19. Just dicovered that several eBay sellers are selling those building instructions on eBay Germany: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=121726300576&globalID=EBAY-DE Who knows how to contact eBay for copyright infringement?
  20. Make it a Double Decker Couch. Just like Emmets from The LEGO Movie. ;-)
  21. Not bad at all for a 1st MOC. Reminds me of an Toyota iQ.
