[MOC] Iveco Daily
TinkerBrick replied to mpj's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I love it. A very, very original MOC. We see those vans/small lorries every day. Looks great and is instantly recognisable. As for the idea of a fake engine proposed earlier - maybe the a 4 cylinder engine based on the Mack Anthem engine could fit under the hood. -
Good evening! Based on efferman's RC trailer i tried to extend the length to fit a 40' trailer: Well, it didn't work out well. The weight of the trailer causes several issues: 1. the crane arms tend to bend towards the container. 2. The geometry of the cranes and the LAs ist not sufficient for the extra weight. When fully extended (or retracted) the LAs can barely move the weight and the safety clutches kick in. 3. The bevel gears driving the LAs tend to slip a lot. Issues 2&3 lead toward an unsynchronous movement of the cranes. Thus the container is unbalanced, one side lower than the other.

I second Doug72. Very unsual vehicle what makes it very interesting. Clever mechanisms and great presentation.

Great truck. Do you think there’s way a way of extending the chassis by 2or 3 studs in order to move the rear axles further back. this picture shows the proportions quite well. https://goo.gl/images/6bGXvr

@BusterHaus nice idea. However I do not understand why it has to be driven by a belt ? Would an axle through the red connector, the pulley and the gear work as well?

8258 Build and Modifications
TinkerBrick replied to Andy D's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I remember that i did all the modifications. My advice: Start out with the original version. Play a bit and then test theses improvements one after another. I guess you'll realize that all these are great modification. The instructions are great. You should also consider the twin wheel mod for the rear axles. And the you will think about the width of the mud guards and the cabin and if it is possible to make it RC.... It is a great set for tinkering. Thise is how far i went back then: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=498441 -
Thanks for sharing. I like it a lot. The Color scheme is great. However the tipping bed looks a bit small. The gap between bed and frame is a bit large. Try to hide the cable. Could you show us ho it looks like with some cargo/weight in the tipping bed?

Success! It works. I just finished building it. First, @1963maniac thank you very much for you tremendous efforts in creating instructions for the v9 Spirograph. I'm a great fan of the v4 version which has a place on my shelf ever since the instructions were created in a great collaborative act in this forum. I'll spend the next days trying out the different settings and will report back with my impressions.

Lovely!

Welcome to Eurobricks @vale, what a fantastic first post. Your mods look very good. Besides the nice trailer, you modified excavator play in the same league as the 8455. The different attachements are great. I really like the 3 stage city boom. PS: try to deeplink/embed the pictures with the "Insert image from URL" function.

Thanks for sharing your experience and the extensive report. I guess you have a lot of footage for future PORSCHE Mocs now. The gift from Porsche is great. Nice move from the company.

SBrick General Discussion
TinkerBrick replied to Nofer89's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It is good to see that you keep on developing the platform. However, I'm still missing a proper power supply. All the possibilities of the S-Brick are limited by the available battery boxes. I don't want to solder on my own.- 780 replies
