[MOC] Ford Bronco 2020
Jundis replied to LoMaC's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Really cool MOC! The bodywork looks so good, with every piece just perfectly selected. One questions, though: Are hard springs in the front really needed?- 22 replies

[MOC] Old little tractor RS09
Jundis replied to Jundis's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks :-) It is connected to a CV-joint shaft to enable to drive different machinery like a mower bar. This however is rather hard to do in such a tight space... -
The yellow version looks great! Are the leaf springs still supported by soft shock absorbers?

[MOC] Old little tractor RS09
Jundis replied to Jundis's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks guys! Just been working with the Instructions Maker in Stud.io and it's way easier for such a model than I first thought. If anyone is interested in the in the instruction, just let me know, I will give them for free. -
Hi guys, I'd like to present you my little MOC of a tractor or better speaking a universal carrier called RS09 from the former GDR from the 50s. In reality, it was the base for the T157 crane, which @jrx did a while ago. When I saw the RS09 as a little kid, I always wondered, why it had no engine in the front like normal tractors do... Just saw this on my holidays in my hometown and had to build it. The normal technic bricks for the front are like a match made in heaven for this thing. I tried to recreate the high versatility of the original while maintaining full playability: - Steering - Oscillating front axle - Fake V2 engine - CV-joint shafts front and back, driven by the wheels - Linkage drawbar Suitable for this set, I built an easily attachable front loader. I still work on other machinery to be attached like a tedder, a plow, a mower bar and a flatbed.

[MOC] Trophy Trial Truck
Jundis replied to paave's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Neat MOC, I like the pick-up version better than the station wagon :-) The only thing that looks a little bit off scale is the cabin, which could be 1 stud longer? But thats maybe just my taste. Also: five 5x11 panels in blue, that's one expensive boy :D -
Just finished it today and changed the wheels to black. What I don't get, why the designer didn't cover up are all these gaps in the bucket: Also why did the use on the rear end instead of the much smoother looking?

[MOC] Scania LK 141
Jundis replied to LegoV94's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Very nice functionalized scale model! Also you have used an interesting solution for driving both rear axles, while keeping the suspension of both indipendent. Great job! -
The 42054 was 150€, I think such a Claas Jaguar would have about the same piece count of 2000. So unmotorized about 160€, motorized around 240€? In this configuration, we have the same scale as the 42054 (width 22 studs, so about 3 m = scale 1:17, same as Arocs) A great feature would be the the elevation of the front sprocket wheels for better turning, connected in regard of the steering angle of the real wheels. I really don't consider the 42102 as the real deal for a claas model... also 2 models don't make a consistent sequence :-P The only repeating technic brand is still Volvo: 42030 (2014) 42053 (2016) 42081 (2018) 42114 (2020)

If the controls are in the cockpit, they really have to be easy to reach. Instead, it's just showcase model better made in the Creator Expert series. With this new piece, I really hope for a truck/trailer-combo with 49.5 tires. Maybe even with a construction vehicle on top like the 8872. A small wheel loader with forks? I am pretty sure Lego will use the Liebherr license for a new mobile crane. Maybe with the 62.4 wheels, but only in H2. I sadly lost hope for a big dump truck as soon as the 42114 appeared. Also: Tractor! Ideally with new smaller tractor tires in front, bigger in back and multiple attachments coming with it. At last as a flagship model maybe a tracked harvester for corn? I mean the Claas license would be perfect for this... (also with the newer, smaller tractor tires in the back and big sprocket wheels)

What I find strange in the real suspension is the behavior when going over a hill or through a ditch. Because of the system used, one of the rear axles will loose contact to the ground, which is kind of strange.

Looks so much better! When I get mine next week, I'll definetily do the same. Can you explain your changes in more detail?

[MOC] Motor grader CAT 120M2
Jundis replied to Jundis's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yeah, my statement was not 100% correct, but easier to understand. When a cylinder is activated, the pressure drops (volume of the cylinder is added to the volume of the system). If you increase the systems volume by the airtank, there is less pressure drop if a cylinder is activated. The higher actuation speed is not much of a concers as the new valves are easier to regulate. Only the little cylinder for tilting of the middle blade is hard to control. If I would have the space, I'd gear the pump up. :-) Thanks :-) I really have high hopes for 2021 for a return of the pneumatics.- 42 replies
