Hmm if I check Brickmerge, the 42107 was 646 pieces for 59,99€. This set was released in 2020, so with inflation it would be 73,50€, meaning 11 c/piece, same as the Desmo. I really like it. It's basic and bare-boned, e.g. look a the support of the rear mudguard, which is only fixed on one side. The front mudguard is also nicely build with the red leaf part from botanicals.

Hey Guys+Gals, coming from the early 90s era of monster trucking, I totally admired Bear Foot over all other trucks. I somehow liked the longer wheelbase in contrast to Bigfoot or Grave Digger. My first idea when we talked about the contest was to use the long soft shock absorbers for front and rear. But testing it with front suspension, they were too hard for my taste, as I wanted 2 of them on each wheel. Also I so far couldn't manage to implement them in a neat fassion to secure enough turning angle of the front. After tinkering for 2 hours now, I ended up with this, which look and sturdiness I really like. I don't want to make a copy of BearFoot, but be a little inspired by it, so will definitely go for a red bodywork. And adding a white racing stripe gives it +10% speed as we all know. Plan is to give it 4WD driving a fake V8 engine in the middle and 4 wheel steering with the 3 steering modes from Claas 42054.

Hmm then you need a set with many suspension components... which completely limits the selection again. Not a good idea in my opinion. Completely hinders good ideas for new solutions. Would also lead to massive confusion and arguing I guess. How different is different...? -

The monster truck contest with the different kinds of tractor tires would be cool! This really is a contest heavily relying on the suspension design, which is a thing we didn't really enforce in any contest I believe. :-) And as said, it will also be a contest for both beginners and pros as you can choose your tire size and therefor model size. I don't know if it's possible, but maybe we could even vote for 3 different categories according to size? Not sure if it's a good idea... Just because mostly bigger models got more votes when there was no size restriction... The 3 categories are: Small (56 x 26) Medium (81 x 35) Big (107x44R) *Edit: MOCs of both real machines and also imaginary ones should be allowed. Electronics are allowed in the "big" category. -

Interesting idea for a leveling/limitation... as this would mean using the medium tractor tires. But as most cars are sports cars and the same size it would highly likely result in kind of similar builds... Also when we go with all tire sizes, more people would participate and try their luck with smaller builds :-) -

I actually like this idea a lot! We could even allow the newer and the upcoming 2026 chevron tires from city: -

With all these models for the car-transporter-gang (@Michael217 Put together this nice overview) ; maybe we can do a contest with: Build a B-model out of one of the these cars with only the available parts. -

Couldn't agree more! This forum is also somehow a comfort place, as I've never ever experienced more friendly and open folk. All the critic for MOCs is constructive and never a rant, which is a very rare find. -
It's really strange as one can argue that there are enough MOCs to keep Technic alive, but I feel you. The hobby always interested me the most when new models came out that gave spark with new parts, especially wheels, gears, mechanisms and motors to create something worthy and unique. Right now, even with all the new parts ,this spark sadly is gone for me. Still have hopes for 2027 with the 50th anniversary.

There is a 4th option, although more unlikely: Sets will appear out of nowhere. This happened with the 42100, which was released in october 2021 2019 :-) Apart from all the boring cars, there are 3 sets I'm curious about: 42238 Ducati Desmo450 MX Factory 457pcs 49.99€ - Could be cool and at least a little deviation from the norm of only speedy bikes and cars. 42239 The iconic Batmobile from the Christopher Nolan movies 719pcs 189.99€ - Here I'm interested how Lego will do the steering, considering the PU hub 113926 will be used 42242 Mercedes Benz Unimog U5023 With Crane - Only set I will buy directly on launch day, just to support non-car themes. What a wasted year for technic :-/ *Edit: @Ngoc Nguyen : 2019. not 2021!

[MOC] Mini JCB 4CX Backhoe

Cool new small parts :-) On the 1st pic, the critical look of the kid says: "Why aren't these cool parts used in Technic Lineup? Ah right... they don't need them, as they only get cars now." -
Dude, in all seriousness: This is not a copying of your design. They just found the same solution for a common problem. In your pic above you even changed the upper connector in your original design to an L-shape liftarm to make your claim... Just be happy you found the same solution :-) Also you seem to have copied it from Lego first (8069): *Edit: And from my MOC from 2021:
