  1. This is so great! Could even go withouth the fenders?
  2. What a B-model, just whoa! The mechanism for the steering-activated transmission is really unique. I've never seen that before in a technic build.
  3. Looks like a concept from a 4-year old ... oh wait, it actually is....
  4. Lego would't teaser with showing a real model anyway.
  5. Just submitted this MOC to Lego ideas, let's see how it performs :D https://ideas.lego.com/projects/ce7ab16d-e57f-4d9a-a89d-310ed33b85ef So for now, I won't publish the instructions cause they somehow collide with the agreement of Lego ideas, I guess.
  6. For the looks, the normal front bike wheels will be too narrow I guess. Also, these are 94.2 mm tires in contrast to the 81.6 mm tires of the 42115 for example. Another thing is, that the tires of the original R5 are fairly small , so this model would be huge.
  7. Even if the amount of Lego sets only slowly increased per year (I just looked at bricklink), I think it's fair to assume that we will get at least 15 technic sets in 2021. Considering the growing popularity of Lego, which didn't seem to hit a tipping point yet. I think we will get more sets (and hopefully not only cars :-P) 2012: 10 2013: 12 2014: 11 2015: 13 2016: 12 2017: 14 2018: 14 2019: 14 2020: 13 (+1 --> Osprey)
  8. Merge Creator Expert with (licenced) Technic Cars = Model Team. Speed Champions series also uses System Bricks, but aren't labelled City. Bionicle used mostly Technic-like pieces, weren't in the Technic branch. Don't get me wrong, there are some nice cars made from Technic Bricks. But for me (and many other Technic fans), a car has only very basic technic features, there is nothing impressive on them except the looks. There are no complex kinematics, no pneumatics, no linear actuators. The oh so complex gearbox for bigger models is only for show... no real function besides faster movement of the pistons. If 2 or maybe 3 cars come with a new wave of 10 models, no problem. But 6 out of 10 (or 5/7 for january, wait .. is this a hint)? I mean, come on...Technic pieces can be used for so much more...
  9. Hi and welcome to the community! :-) For the pullback-models, I only think we might get the usual soft springs. The Senna will just be a good-looker, I don't expect any functions apart from steering and fake V8. This really isn't technical at all. If they really introduce new tractor tires, they maybe use them in the "Offroad vehicle" if this will be some sort of Sherp ATV. On the other hand, such a vehicle without motors will have zero technical functions. Again looking at this list seems like a bad joke to me. Yep. Merge this with the creator expert series cars and it's a win-win. Nice looking display models with some little functions. Also this leaves some room for more technical models in the TECHNIC series.
  10. Liebherr L300 from the 50s: "When Hans Liebherr hires a cable excavator in 1953, he notices the poor power-to-weight ratio. Eight months later, he presents the first hydraulic excavator in Europe - the L300. This is four times lighter than the hire machine. In 1954, series production of the powerful machine begins." I can already see this with the Arocs tires and the cabin with these panels
  11. @Jim Are there any news for the upcoming contest? Actually, I am more curious for the contest after the GBC contest :D
  12. In contrast to the ferrari, the McLaren has 830 parts for only 50€ ... maybe the complex shape needed many little non-technic slopes? Edit: Front hood could be made from a new big fender from the Lambo just in blue...?
  13. I really hope so, but I also think we only get em with the balloon tires like this city set: Same here. Again, nearly only fast things.... I am really disappointed. At least these are only the sets for january and march it seems.
  14. Already voted for this beauty! ;-) Wish you all the luck to break the 10.000 milestone!
  15. Don't wanna be too discouraging here, but just from the looks, I don't see any stability to hold the weight of a model in this size.
  16. Not a fan of this. Sure, it works but the gear is pushed outwards, so there is much stress here.
  17. I'm curious what you have in mind, but will one L-motor be enough for driving? ;-)
  18. This could be an A-model, just whoa! Also this thing really is huge in contrast to the 8275. Great job!
  19. Hmm looking at this photo, I'd say the ratio of the rear tire is about 2/3 the diameter of the front tire... so with the existing 107 and a new 68 we have matching diameters :-)
  20. You have my support. One of the most wanted part for me (despite the return of the 1x11 pneumatic cylinder) is a small tractor tire for the 43.2 wheel There are so much possibilities for upcoming models with this part: - big Tractor (as front tire) - Harvester/Crop Chopper (as back tire) - small Tractor (as back tire) - telescopic loader (front and back) - Unimog/Offroad-Truck/Jeep (front and back) - ....
  21. Technic models seems to head in exactly the different direction, as in 2020 only the small sets had B-models.
  22. Again, I love the clean looks of your build, the cab is so nicely done! One suggestion to make the loading are smother: Maybe use such a bracket underneath the tiles? Another question: Can the doors only slide open, when the wheels are not angled?
  23. The Renault cabin is really an eye-catchter. The grey and black panels fit so well here!
  24. Not sure, if it has to be a crane, but hopefully Lego uses these wheels more often. A little bit off-topic here, but still related to the thread: Is it just my imagination or are other Lego themes are more likely to get very unique parts way more often, while the technic theme just get new parts, when there are absolutely no other options.
