  1. Definitely! I just discovered the Super Truck Racing series, where similar vehicles are used for racing. This thing with a Smart Hub and these wheels. 1 L-Motor for steering, 3 L-Motors for driving of rear axle, directly as possible. Bam.
  2. I really can't imagine how Lego will do this. I mean such a big model with motor at a price of 129.99 Euro?? I mean this is the same money as for the (ok, heavily overpriced) 42109, which had only 463 pieces. For this model in the dimentions @steph77 calculated, we are easily talking about 1200...1500 pieces. And it's not just a hollow hull. The function we can await are movement of rotors, tipping of rotors, contractable landing gear and a tailgate to open.
  3. True. As cool as this machine is in reality, built in pieces wouldn't be so interesting as the mechanism really needs some soil to show off. I mean there are plenty of "earth moving" stuff in Lego technic, but only because you can use lego pieces instead of soil. Same goes for a cement mixer. But how could you really show the function of this machine? You would need at least a bucket full of tiny lego pieces (big parts would block the mechanism). What I wish for is some sort of a "Classix" line with old machinery and maybe cars. Not old building techniques, but just things like that:
  4. How many panels #17&18 do you need to ge a full circle with?
  5. Maybe not coincidence, but Lego did many Ferrari models over the years, I wouldn't be surprised if the next supercar is a successor to the LaFerrari for the (80th anniversary car F80 or whatever it will be called).
  6. Interview in english starts at about 1 min into the video.
  7. I am really impressed, that there are no stickers but only prints. Hats off to Lego :-)
  8. Still unsure, if I get it, as it would be my first Technic car :D What's buggin me the most is the hood of the engine. And I would definitely try to mod this. It's like TLC didn't even try to get them right
  9. "The LEGO Technic Lamborghini model will be available in LEGO Brand Retail Stores and the LEGO Online Store from 1 June 2020 and more widely from 1 August 2020. Further details about the LEGO Technic Lamborghini will be revealed at a later date." Link
  10. Whoa, Lego already have a 4L bar with this feature!
  11. Actually it would be very cool if they would have a glow-in-the-dark-feature (Phosphorescence). This would go very neatly with the teaser.
  12. @Aerolight Thx for the news! :-) Citing carscoops.com: " Lamborghini has officially announced the unveiling of a new model next week. The announcement came in a short press release that speaks about the company’s preparations for restarting production next Monday (May 4), revealing that a new car will be presented online on May 7. “We continue to nurture the dreams of our fans and customers, and on 7 May, through a virtual launch, we will present a new car in order to complete our model range”, said Chairman and CEO Stefano Domenicali. Could this be Lamborghini’s rumored fourth model, the hypothetical 2+2 GT that could join the successors of the Huracan and Aventador supercars, plus the Urus SUV before the middle of the decade? Probably not. As for the replacements of the two blue-blooded machines, these are also a few years away. So, what are we looking at? In all likelihood, it’s the track-only hypercar teased by the Italian automaker at the end of March. The model is based on the Aventador and will feature a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12, tuned to deliver 830 PS (818 HP / 610 kW). Production will be capped at just a few examples, with the exact number to be disclosed in due course. Also, since it was developed together with the Raging Bull’s racing division Squadra Corse, the new Lambo could be offered to customers in a similar way to the Ferrari FXX-K. Still, a new version of the Huracan or Aventador remains somewhat possible, as is a new Urus variant, probably a plug-in hybrid or a more extreme model derived from the ST-X racer. What do you think Lamborghini will unveil next Thursday? "
  13. Thanks to the comparing pic from @Ngoc Nguyen , I think the reason they used a higher dump bed maybe is the following: To get the Volvo logo in the correct length, they needed to use a 5x11 panel instead of the better suited 3x11. Therefor the whole think gets higher. The reason for the bigger cabin imho is to fit the control+ battery box behind it.
  14. Very nice build :-) I feel you Ideally to fit 43.2 mm D x 26 mm. We definetely need more agricultural machinery in Lego.
  15. Finally all the parts arrived and I did a quick test with the roof mechanism first. Works as intended :-)
  16. So much MX5 lovers here, whoa :D Back to the MOC: The main problem is shifting the A-pillars backwards and get a fitting angle and height to match the roof. I really like the usage of the panel as the front desk and would have to change it to fit in the A-pillars. I am still waiting for many parts to complete at least the current build. I even consider just calling it a "Convertable" and ditch the aim to recreate the MX5 :-/
  17. Thanks @all for the suggestions! @brickless_kiwi : Just checked again, you are right. The biggest problem really is the A-pillar here, which I will try to set backwards 3 studs. Also the cabin needs to be place backwards 1 stud. Can't move it back more because then the roof would be too far back. But the backend actually is that big in the ND series ;-) *EDIT: Now I realised I did two mistakes with the A-pillar: For once, I just measured the angle of the Connector #5 without thinking about it while it's turned, lowering the angle even more and second I somehow used the windshield and not the A-pllar for reference
  18. Hi guys, as I am around 90% through with my build, I'd like to present a MOC of a Mazda MX5 for TC18. I always liked the Mazda MX5, especially the newest version in white (2015 - today), so I gave it a try. I did not focus on a sophisticated drivetrain or steering, but make it a truly convertable with foldable roof, which is the main feature. I can be controlled with the HOG gear and 5L axle with end stop, which can be pulled out and placed two holes right of the center position, where it then actuates a worm gear driving the 8 tooth gear of the mechanism (see bottom pic, gear highlighted in blue). The cover is just pushed open by the folding roof. Retraction goes the same way. The mechanism worked well with a mockup, now I am waiting for my ordered parts to try it fully assembled. Other features are: - Steering (HOG and working cabin steering wheel) - Small fake inline 4-cylinder-engine connected to a newer diff from the 42109 - Openable doors, hood and trunk I am still working on the front, maybe I change the hood completely for this. Just couldn't find a nice looking solution so far. Here are some pics of the car and the mechanism of the roof:
  19. Overall great shape and instantly recognizable. But have you thought about changing the doors from the panel #17/18 to the curved panel 7x3?
  20. Agreed, I would even consider to shorten the engine (V6 --> V4) also going for a shorter hood with the Panel #13/14 instead of #17/18?
  21. Nothing so far... The Charger will be released next week and Ducati in June. We have to be patient for pics of the Osprey as the set will be released in August, same goes for the Volvo.
  22. I can't really say anything about lifetime, did not have problems so far. Also the rpm differs, when the engines are under load so it should even out. A simpler solution would be the following:
