  1. As I just got a message asking for help for the instructions: We are already working on these, thanks to @Rudivdk
  2. That is one of the minor flaws of the Arocs. The matching worm gear for the turntable just came out in 2017, I think Markus would surely have used it, if this part has been available in 2015.
  3. I second that, although the models with electric components are all above that price, beginning with like 120€. The PU dumb battery box really has potential for such sets with 1 or 2 motors. I also really hope they bring back the pneumatics in 2021.
  4. During the built, I even thought about switching all the 1x11 for 2x11 but the whole Grader looked like on steroids and out of proportion. It is more a matter of space. As the third cylinder is connected by pins with ball joints it possibly would sack down while operating, therefor I dropped the idea. But I also waited and got two 1x11 cylinders for 15€ each. Still it's silly, but sadly necessary... The airtank really improves the actuation speed, especially lifting of the middle blade structure, because of the higher pressure built up in the system. Without it, it takes like 15 sec or so to lift the middle structure.
  5. I like this one, too :-) Seems like a really robust built, which can easily withstand rolling over and heavy use. Also the drive looks like a good compromise between speed and torque, good job! As the rims are already yellow, maybe you can use some yellow liftarms or even panels to add some colour accents here and there?
  6. Have you activated the "Snap" function (look in the upper panel)? Then it should be easy to do. :-)
  7. This looks amazing, great job! So many good ideas of part usage like the inverted 3x11 plate on the lower side, pin hole usage on the upper side panel for reflectors and rail. The icing of the cake would have been twin tires on the rear axles, but in this scale it would be a bit wobbly. Only thing I dislike is the colour. I think blue or white would have been a better choice, but that's just personnel taste :)
  8. Nice set :-) Have you tried to use this bigger tipper bed (not available in lime though and would propably need another mechanism for the tipping...).
  9. Really like your progress on this MOC! The added shock absorbers on the front axle made me smile :-P I would prefer openable doors, even in this case you can't use the 3x11 panel there. One suggestion would be to exchance the spaghetti piece on lower front windshield for this piece and then add a black 7L soft axle in the pin whole to give the illusion of the bent wind shield. Also the 3x1 curved slope in the second window isn't necessary I think. Plus, there will be some sort of air filter in front of this section, so it doesn't really matter... For stability, maybe you can place the upper connection of the articulated joint (in front of the big turntable) one stud up? It seems on the 42114 there is the same connection which is a little bit flimsy. But this is just guess work here, if its stable during motion, everything is fine. Keep on the good work, really looking forward to the final model :-)
  10. In all honesty and for sake of your health: Please don't try, what you are intending to do. It's no surprise that engines are made of metals and not plastics. Plastics melt, deform and burn. ABS fumes are not that toxic, but you really should know what you are doing. If you wanna challenge yourself, try to make a pneumatic engine out of Lego.
  11. You have a point here, although that was exactly why the 42043 is so brilliant as it's really fully functional with its suspension and everything. The retail price of the Arocs was 230€, which was a really good deal for a PF-set with 2800 pieces. I think such a wood truck would be in the same area, as the dolly trailer is less than 500 pieces, while on the ruck we have one axle less and no dump bed and mechanics for that. Also twin tires (62.4) always reign supreme over single tires (49.5). Yep, but without a trailer. Also this set is from 2012. How many cranes, excavators and race cars did we have since then? ;-)
  12. Currently tinkering with this idea of making exactly such a model :-) But Arocs-Size (1:17) would work better in my opinion as, even though the model of @ArsMan064 looks great. Sadly I doubt Lego will add a full load of wood. More likely they will add 2 or 3 logs like in the 42080 or 42094. If you think about it, it is really strange: You need a mobile phone for >150 € for all control+ models, but collecting some sticks from outside is impossible to imagine... What a strange world we are living in :D
  13. Already mentioned this multiple times before: Lego should consider introducing a "Technic Classics" lineup within the Technic branch, which deals with older vehicles, where more mechanical functions are present. Something like a Steamroller with Chain-Steering, old tractors with trailer, classic cars (racecars from the 20s with chain drive) and so on. This historic aircraft is also an awesome example.
  14. Same here, though it is rather easy with the Ducati to get all the primary components.
  15. @Jim Are there already plans, what contest it might be? :-)
  16. Such a cool model! If it works as good as it looks, I can skip my plan on MOCing such a truck and wait for your instructions :-)
  17. Thank your very much! :-) I am really unsure if I do the instructions, seems like a ton of work, maybe I start and learn with a smaller model. The hint with the LDCad is highly appreciated as Studio doesn't have hoses at all I think. Yeah, I really like that, too. Especially since the structures for the mirrors cover up the first pin holes, so all aligns really nicely :D
  18. Oh my bad, I did just see the springs and angrely typed before looking :D
  19. First off: Nice model :-) But: They may be perfectly aligned but your swing arm won't work without stress. Diagonal structrures like the 5L liftarm are placed to avoid any lateral movement of the two beams, who are intended to move. You practically introduced a stiff scaffolding structure into you swingarm.
  20. Great comparison! Another (peaceful) reason for bringing this set: @Tomik will be able to make a Shark MOC in DGB :-)
  21. Now I am hyped :D Just a fair warning: If you intending to use the LAs for raising/lowering the shield, I don't see any other way than to place the motors on the end, which will look really awkward... :-/ Especially the Grader is one of those vehicles that are crying to using pneumatics instead of LAs as the blade has such a high number of degrees of freedom.
  22. Nice Truck, but why do you call it 'Mini'? With Arocs-sized wheels, isn't it more normal building size for a truck? :-)
  23. Thanks a lot for the appreciation, guys! :-) There are still many little things that can be improved. The turntable for the movable cabin should be placed two studs forward ... in the height of the front I strangely could go even one stud higher, didn't know where I missed that... ripper could be made bigger... the cabin is too high... *sigh* But overall the shapes match :-)
  24. Looks good :-) But why didn't you use the 10l gear rack?
