  1. It's not really carved in stone that a construction machine couldn't have over 4000 pcs. I remember Markus Kossmann saying the 42100 was the limit regarding the motors and movement. But considering a multimodel set (Tractor and Trailer) or something without a long arm and with wheels instead of tracks (combine harvester) even 5000 pieces are achievable without breaking the bounderies of playability. BUT: Bigger is not always better. I remember a third party set of a 3 axle truck with that high piece count which was sluggishly slow and had terrible overall stability. I'd take 3 or 5 smaller sets with 1000...1500 pieces over one set with 5000 pieces any day ;-)
  2. I get what you mean, but theres a flipside to that: Lego Technic models once had unique features which weren't or couldn't be implemented in system-based models. Now we have models outside the Technic theme which have much more sophisticated mechanism AND more appearing looks, too. Recent examples were the 10327 Ornithopter or the 10363 DaVinci Flying machine. When we look at cars it's even more absurd: You have nearly same functions in the 10317 Defender as in similar sized technic models AND way better looks. Just a matter of time till we get the moveable pistons (see City Set 60466 Bulldozer), then its Model Team revived. I really hope Lego will broaden their line-up in future years and use the potential of complex mechanisms again. Hopefully the remaining models of 2026 are NOT cars.
  3. My oh my... I am also not a fan of system bricks on technic, but you really nailed the look of the outer shell AND inner technic core!
  4. This is exactly what I both hope and fear...
  5. I'd like to contradict myself: This gear would be better for the looks and easier on the finger to operate then the spur gear:
  6. Really cool little set! Perfect usage of the parts. @msk6003 Totally agreed. Would at least swap the 20T in tan for the dark azure version of the spur gear.
  7. Thanks for the support guys! Finally got the last system parts to finish both models up. They work really nice, especially the small tractor is fun to play around :-) I am not 100% satisfied with the look of the snowblowers engine, but I think I'll leave it as it is. Thankfully we had some snow left (balcony), to see the machines in their works ;-)
  8. An inversed setup would work way better: Driving through the gears and a steering axle in between them. I'm pretty sure, I've already seen this setup in other Lego models, but not sure in which one exactly.
  9. Maybe the small machines are there due to the complaints from the technic designers to management: Designers: "Please no more cars! Let us design some construction machines again!" Managment: "Ok you can design 8 of any kind. Just get em below 50 pieces for each one...." Designers: "Wait, what...?"
  10. Especially the cab of the dumper is brilliantly designed! Checks all boxes for me :-)
  11. Fantastic, both truck and tractor. Even though I'm an adult, there is suddenly the inner urge to maneuver the fully loaded trailer backwards into a narrow space ... :D
  12. Just tested it and same here. I think it's not the 7L beam but the red 16t gear pressing on the driving axle passing through it. If you turn hard enough you can even stop the rear wheels by the amount of friction loaded onto this axle.
  13. Exactly my thoughts. But while looking at the off-brands construction machinery, most of the things are very dull, ugly or overcomplicated (big models for the sake of being big with no real additional features). There is really a lack of models within 1000...2500 parts that have just the right amount of functions for their sizes.
  14. Yeah you were right, I put it a little sideways now, looks way better imho. Opinions? I am really bad at making engine details on the snow blower... but still have 100 g left ... any ideas are welcome :D @Jim Are the system parts on the blower (panel and plates) okay? Technic parts are too bulky here...
  15. You packed so much clever small details into the car, this is just brilliant combination of all the goodies from Offroad-Vehicles at this scale, just wow!
  16. Cool combo! Maybe you can make the cab on the backhoe a little smaller to better fit the scale of the truck?
  17. Love the heli, this is a superb entry! For the truck, you can even get rid of the rear fenders, but just my humble opinion.
  18. What a cool idea for a duo! Kudos to manage to get the weight down to the max limit of the dumper. ;-) Totally agreed, in similar scale, they would work even better.
  19. Cool idea for a b-model!
  20. Yeah definetely better! But maybe you have to shorten the main boom a little bit? As I understand, you have a steady lift with the parallel arms and the tilt of the bucket via the worm gear, right? If you have some grams of the weight limit left, alternatively you can also extend the front axle a little bit more.
  21. I really like the brick built rear bucket! But the front one looks strange... is the 7x10 bucket too big?
  22. Love the idea and the looks of this so far! But the lack of the steering via steering wheel is really a bummer... did you try to include a steering via liftarm linkage instead of the steering rack? E.g. with the 7L flipflop beam instead of the 7L gear rack...
  23. On a side note: I find it very amusing that this set was so harshly critiqued not only for the price and the looks but also the PU-play functions and now seems to gain interest again after seeing the failure of 2026 Technic lineup :D Maybe in a few years, we will have the 42215 highly praised as the last real construction technic set before the downfall and overtake of the technic cars...
  24. I am slowly beginning to think, that Lego is mocking the Technic community... Leaked June release from City Theme: 60480 - Yellow Backhoe Loader - 301 pieces 60494 - Dump Truck and Front Loader - 1132 Pieces
  25. Uhh, this will be hard to do a cab with only 100 g left actually :-/ For this model to pull off, you really need to shed weight, e.g. get rid of the panels for the third wheel or use less connector parts on the front end. Imho a brilliant display of minimalism is this Telehandler. "Perfection is achieved not when there's nothing more to add, but when there's nothing left to take away."
