  1. I like the dual pump setup, do they both pump air at the same time or are they 180 degrees apart? Also wondering do you just use a reverse T, two pumps into one line or is there more to it than that? I also like very much the trailer, good job, I may try and recreate some of your mods.
  2. I would buy sets heavy on grey that are relatively inexpensive with a good variety of pieces, like the Oni Titan and some of the Star Wars sets. There are plenty out there if you look, I know because that's what I do, then I would hit up the PAB wall and finally Brinklink the ones you need. I really do think sets are the most economical way though but obviously your not going to find all the pieces you will need that way. Good luck and enjoy the build. Definitely this is true.
  3. Do you have an opinion, an area of expertise? Then it should be fairly easy to achieve 100 worthy posts. Look at someone's build, state your opinion or what you know of the subject matter then simply offer up some useful information and or tips to make it better. You don't need to be some kind of Guru or pro builder to offer an opinion. Good luck and shy away from 2 or 3 word posts, that's great, lol or you have instructions are some of my least favorites and I feel they should just be deleted sometimes.
  4. It does look better and I do like a good crawler, working on one myself in fact. I think it really helped lowering it one stud, to me though that front grill portion just sticks out way to far, I think if you shortened it up a couple of studs it would look so much better. Anyway looks like fun enjoy and thanks for showing it to us.
  5. Such a well done deceptively simple looking build turned out really well, especially fond of the color scheme. Sounds like the start of a good joke, "how do you make a unicorn cry".
  6. Congrats on finishing, to bad, no time for more pictures though, I never seem to tire of looking at them. It just looks absolutely amazing, just wondering does the real ship have a dedicated helicopter or is the pad just for whoever feels like dropping in.
  7. Personally I was hoping for the great Kazoo, although I will still be getting this set, I very much like it.
  8. Frames are indeed very useful, in my storage and sorting system I actually have frames in with my connectors instead of with my beams. So I guess I, at least see them more as connectors than beams. Either way I certainly don't see beams going away, if anything they seem to be becoming more common as I see them in many system builds, holding constructs together.
  9. I think it looks pretty good and I wish you luck. I do think the windscreen pieces do detract from the overall good looks of the vehicle as well though. Mostly because of all the visible anti-studs.
  10. Cool concept, I know myself and likely many others, make small vehicles using only connectors and axles. So I am always on the lookout for new types of connectors.
  11. Curious, what part is that which houses the differential and axles. I need.
  12. Honestly not much I like about this build, I can see what you were going for as far as body shape and do think it's a cool shape but I think it needs to be worked on a little more. The wheels sticking out like that makes it seem like the only way you could get the front arches close to the wheels was by putting them outside the fender because of steering angle. And all those rubber bands are a no go for me although I think it's okay to use them as long as they are well hidden. I can certainly appreciate all the effort that went into this project, I am currently dealing with the same issues myself on a simple model I am trying to build, quite maddening at times to be honest. I get one thing working right and it interferes with the last thing I just fixed. Anyway thanks for sharing, I hope to see this again in the future with much improvement. Making a steered, driven front axle with independent suspension that has lots of travel in a reasonable width has apparently become my "white whale" so I totally get it. That it seems so easy for others doesn't really help either.
  13. From actually looking at it physically it does appear to flare out slightly at the top of the arch, so it is not just a single curve. I do think you could put stickers on parts of it though, just not the whole thing, as was already stated.
  14. I just meant you pretty much have to be right next to the car or in the same room as the car, to operate it. So you wouldn't really be spying on anyone because they would likely be aware of your presence in the same room. Still it's a nifty little creation.
  15. Lol how rather fitting and great workaround as well.
  16. I get it, I guess that is why I tend to buy a set then read the reviews, gives me a chance to form my own opinion. I must say though apparently I missed this review the fist time around and even though I don't have this set after reading the review I want it.
  17. I see, apparently I misinterpreted what I read, my apologies.
  18. Well even though I am in the US it doesn't look like I will be getting this set, unless Amazon opens a brick and mortar store in my area soon. I guess that's okay anyway because to me that thing is laughable at best, a castle really, looks more like an outhouse over priced at that. Maybe true to the source material just way out of scale. Yes I do get that most Star Wars sets are not actually full scale and generally command a premium price but to me this is just absurd, should have just went ahead and made it microbuild. Sorry for the rant I usually don't really care but I just had to say something about it and to anybody that likes it, not trying to change their opinion.
  19. Pretty cool idea, the only problem I can see is that you have to maintain LOS for the remote to work, so you could pretty much see whatever the camera sees.
  20. Plenty of sets have decals on the 3x13 curved panel, most recently 42077.
  21. Hmm not sure, would like to see some prototypes, just to see how they could be implemented.
  22. I have always noticed that wave effect in every one of my panels, I will say though probably not as noticeable as yours seem to be. It almost seems as though you have them in very bright light with them angled just right for maximum reflection in order to highlight the wavy effect.
  23. I think a lot of the things you are going through can really only be answered by yourself, really tough decisions for sure. Maybe just pack up the LEGO for a year, see how you like it and then either sell it all or break it back out and start building. It would be a shame to get rid of it then decide you miss it too much and have to start all over again.
  24. I have not been suffering with slower load up speed, at least that I've noticed, seems about the same for me.
  25. I don't much care for this at all but I don't hate it and I don't understand why so many do. If someone likes it and buys it good for them, LEGO is doing many more other things I do like, so why shouldn't they try something a little different. I really do hope very much that this "skin" thing doesn't spill over into other lines though, I would hate that. It just seems like an easy out to actually skillfully defining shapes with existing parts.
