  1. There is also a product made for coating tool handles and such. It is basically liquid rubber in a can that you just dip the tool into, usually the handle of pliers and the like, then when it dries you have a rubber coating on your tool. It might work okay on the jaw portion I have never tried it though.
  2. Well it does bear a slight resemblance to a jeep in a comic book sort of way and I know it is hard to build at this small of a scale. I do think it could look more like a jeep if the hood and back section were not built up so high that and I think the windscreen is too tall and the tires stick out too far. Still cool little model.
  3. I would like to see a parts list, just to see what it has to offer. I know it's a little to much to pay for just a parts pack but I would like to know what parts it has.
  4. Don't know why but this reminds me of that novelty rubber fish on a plaque that flops around and plays corny songs. Actually made me laugh thinking about it singing "Take me to the water". Anyway don't much care for it, maybe it will grow on me.
  5. Man you just continue to out do yourself with each successive project, just simply amazing what you accomplish, very well done. Hope you never get tired of doing this, can't wait to see what's next.
  6. There is another thread where this was discussed however I was unaware of the price then, now yikes, you can get the original for that price, crazy.
  7. I think you are free to do what ever you want just don't post clone bricks here.
  8. I think maybe that is to close to clone brand for my liking. @sirslayer Yes this is what i meant. Don't want to jump the gun just yet, the ones it comes with are likely just fine.
  9. Hopefully even if the battery pack is crap it could easily be swapped out with something else.
  10. Good progress, I do think it would look better if the rear axles were closer together.
  11. Strange philosophy for sure, I am very much into the A side of my life and while I don't treat my LEGO like gold I do take some care with the pieces. I guess it's just something I do with all things I own, except for my hammer collection. Also I guess I am in the pink cloud phase of my LEGO building as I have yet to experience any broken parts, plenty with much less friction though. Only been doing this about two and half years though, so I know it's coming. I do use hemostats as well as very sharp knife blades on occasion, so far the damage is minimal, as I really am careful, definitely don't feel like it's a waste of time though.
  12. Yes I too would like seeing them built in actual brick form, the ladder part especially interest me. I like building firetrucks a lot and I can never seem to get a satisfactory working ladder that looks right. I would love to see how the steering works as well. Do you plan on building these and sharing the pictures?
  13. This is exactly what I want, so I really hope it turns out to be worthwhile. Waiting patiently for mini review. Honestly don't understand why LEGO hasn't already done this. Maybe they think their PU system to be a better solution, time will tell.
  14. I think this thread already exists elsewhere, maybe worth finding as I think it is quite lengthy. Personally I don't think I have any rare or particularly valuable minifigs maybe the Batman and Joker from the Tumbler set.
  15. Love it, well implemented part usage. Looks very good too and would be fun to play with.
  16. How could you possibly know this to be true? Regardless of who falls for it, they would learn a valuable lesson cheap and would perhaps be more wary in the future. Just to be sure I in no way think this is okay and still think these people are scum of the earth. I really wish there were a way to help people understand "if it sounds to good to be true it probably is" It truly is sad that these few slime balls profit off the good nature of the few truly generous highly talented builders that choose to share their creations. I really would like to hear some suggestions on how to curtail such low down activity.
  17. Man $39.99 what a deal I would buy one just for the BuWizz. Honestly anyone that would pay for one of these sets and actually expect to get what is promised is a fool and should really consider taking off their rose colored glasses. I certainly don't condone what is being done here, it is an obvious rip-off scam and they should be tarred and feathered for it, or much worse. The fact that anyone would buy into it though just proves the old adage "there's one born every minute"
  18. Thanks for the update, I was worried you had given up or worse the workers union went on strike.

I think the microbuild looks better too, there really is so little detail to add to a gray box like tower. I actually think it would be better to just do a smaller portion and make it a cut-away more detailed sectional type build.
  20. Again thanks for a well done and insightful review, funny I have the same three sets as you, so far. I echo your sentiment as far as this set goes as well, I did really enjoy the building of the bikes and think they are quite good, except for the one with the vertical stabilizer in the aft section. I don't like seeing the anti-studs on the one side and a stickered plate on the other. I might have scored this set a little higher since I think it's a very good set, good playability, fun build, great minifigures but as you say, a little on the pricey side even for Star Wars, this really does seem to be the new normal though and one of the reasons I have cut way back on Star Wars sets.
  21. Better hurry up and buy a bunch of the hot dog guy luggage tags, before they realize their mistake and the price goes up.
  22. My rather lackluster customer support story. I have only been buying LEGO for about 2.5 years and only have about 300 plus sets. I have only had to deal with CS once, the Saturn V Rocket had one extra 2x6 bow plate white and was short 1 2x6 bow plate black. Told the nice lady and 3 weeks later got my black bow plate in the mail, no questions asked and promptly delivered. My one and only dealing with CS turned out well and since I had an extra bow plate in my spare parts bin, I didn't have to wait to complete the set.
  23. Okay I will take your word for it.

Have you decided on a scale or size you want to build. That would be the first thing I would do, as it will determine how many bricks or level of detail you will going for. Then maybe sketch out a plan and scale accordingly from there.
  25. Seems like a spoiler to me, granted not a big one but one just the same.
