How do you take care of the stickers?
Johnny1360 replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Can you not separate the stickered bricks from the unstickered bricks and wash them in a more appropriate manner. -
Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Johnny1360 replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
Yeah I have reservations about that water pump, honestly I don't think it pumps actual water, I think it is an air pump that pushes out a rod shaped piece to simulate a stream of water. Using it to knock down the flame pieces. I guess we will see, I just can't imagine it shooting H2O all over everything, just makes no sense at all. It actually could be a two piece telescopic rod that automatically retracts when the bulb is done being squeezed. So you don't have to reload it after every shot. -
42081 C-Model - Log Loader
Johnny1360 replied to M_longer's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well I have to say, that looks very good and I am quite impressed that it is a C model using more parts than most B models. Thanks too for the instructions, I may actually give this a go, I like it very much and it appears to be very well built. -

I have to say, I just don't care for this at all, seems like a good idea that got sidetracked along the way. I guess some will enjoy it but I just don't like anything about it. Thanks for bringing to my attention none the less. -

From the picture, showing the engine detail, you can cleary see the hood either opens or easily lifts off, as indicated by the two up and doen arrows. -

Reminds me very much of an old school building style vehicle.

[MOC] Vulture attack helicopter alternative build LEGO 76083
Johnny1360 replied to CoolerTD's topic in LEGO Licensed
Not bad for a B model, I do like the way pieces seem to magically fly into your hands when you are building it. -
42093 Corvette ZR-1
Johnny1360 replied to letsbuild's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Perhaps it's auto steering, like a Caster wheel, just goes where you push it. -
I fully expect to see some sort of overly large bulldozer with lots of repetitive parts, boring build, lazily designed and few functions with many stickers that looks like no existing piece of heavy equipment and a parade of garish colors the likes of which we has never seen. With an astronomical price tag to match.

Indeed, hence the name, Remote Control Stunt Racer. Could not agree more about the motors and not PU.

42093 Corvette ZR-1
Johnny1360 replied to letsbuild's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I can appreciate it for what it is and I do need orange parts so will definitely be getting it, unless of course it is ridiculously priced. The thing is though, I get the feeling that when I build it and show it to somebody, they aren't going to say "cool looking Corvette," they are going to say "cool looking car, did you design that yourself?" -

Yeah basically a tank turret with elevating cannon, very odd indeed. Change the colors and it looks more like a military vehicle. -
How do you take care of the stickers?
Johnny1360 replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I pretty much apply them the best I can and call it good, unless it's a set I plan on just using for parts then I leave them off. I don't really have any reason to save them for later as I am not trying to resell the sets later, I say use and enjoy them after all that's what they are for. I take no special care of them either. I think it's better to put them on when the pieces are new as well, since they will never be as clean or scratch free ever again. Seems to me they are made out of vinyl nowadays instead of paper, not sure but they are fairly durable, I have removed them months later and reapplied with no noticeable wear and they still adhere quite well. -
Technic 2019 Set Discussion
Johnny1360 replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Sounds like we are in the same boat and think much alike, sure I would love to have all those big cool sets, just can't justify the expense. I do like these smaller sets though helps me build my parts inventory up as I don't have many of these colors or pieces. Actually glad the Tracked Racer isn't PU. For some reason it is a lot easier for me to buy small sets and bin the parts. I just can't make myself do that with a $300+ set, not that I have any. -
Technic 2019 Set Discussion
Johnny1360 replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I guess it's considered a display model because there is no HOG steering? Kind of bums me out I so much wanted to push it around and make fake engine noises. Oh well I think I will still get it. There are probably ways to remove the printing from the panels without damaging them for those so inclined. -
I can't believe I never realized those wheels could be used as sprockets for the tread pieces, thank you very much for that. Edit: so I tried it out and it just doesn't quite work, how did you pull it off?

Technic 2019 Set Discussion
Johnny1360 replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Agreed, which begs the question why so many hated that set are the same that love this set. Since their main reason for hating 42077 was lack of functions, personally I didn't mind and bought the set anyway. I do also like the new Porchse and will be getting it as well. I just can't seem to be able to afford the other one as much as I would like to have it and the Bugatti. Kind of glad to see these more economical sets. Maybe one day I will be rich enough to get the other ones. Also bought the last Tracked Racer set as well and hands down the worse thing about it was the M motors, so glad to see that addressed although now I somehow feel slighted. I will be getting the new one too. -
Indeed a work of art, very well done and it looks amazing. The thing I like most is it is a little different than most other MOCs, it has just enough color to not appear drab. 80,000 bricks too this thing must be huge, it would be a real pleasure to see in person. What really surprises me, is that no one else has much to say about this creation, almost as if they consider it ho-hum or boring, which it is definitely not.

Regardless of TLGs stance on the subject, or fans, I see many sets officially released that could easily be converted into a church, temple, mosque or other religious building, with very little effort.

LEGO Creator 2019 - Rumors, Discussion, and Speculation
Johnny1360 replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Not really sure why or what I was expecting but none of these sets do I like. I will almost certainly buy all the sets eventually, as usual, just they don't appeal to me like the Turbo Track Racer did or that green rocket car or the beach van did last year.- 280 replies

Something I have not really even thought about. I have many separators, that I hardly ever use, I guess because there were none when I first started playing with LEGO. Also I have encountered quite a few instances where the separator just won't do the job, even two of them. I have also grown out my pinkie nail slightly to aid in the process although it often breaks, thankfully it grows back quickly. I do try to make myself use the separator, it just seems so much quicker to use my fingers, though very tiresome for large builds. Having wrote this long-winded response, I must say that if disassembling bricks by hand damages them, I have yet to notice, none broken yet. Neither are they scratched up from disassembling by hand.
