As always Robert8, amazing designs. So fun, varied, detailed and true to the CMF series. There's almost always something for everyone. Love the postman. I have a friendly relationship with my mailman and he frequently comes to my door and says "got more Legos [sic] for you". The USPS carriers in my area have a choice of hats and he prefers the safari-looking hat like your design. Spot-on look. The French Queen is epic along with the Philosopher, Cow Suit Girl, Bellhop and Majorette. They're all amazing but these are particularly strong characters and designs. Really fond of your style and skill, keep it up!

EB Xmas Raffle 2017 - Your ideal Christmas tree entry thread
koalayummies replied to CopMike's topic in LEGO Town
These events are one of the many things that makes Eurobricks a special place. First time participating and it was really fun. The Village Tree, bigger than most of the trees the minifigures have in their cramped modular apartments but without overdoing it like New Brick York City. -
You do phenomenal automotive themed MOCs, the best. This is incredible. To comment on every amazing detail and build would crash the server so I'll summarize with; absolute perfection. Fantastic work Norton74!

Absolutely wonderful. Love the color choices especially the wood-looking top floor, the the various roof build designs and detail everywhere. Is there an unseen way for the figures to get onto the second floor balcony? Fantastic MOC.

Exquisite perfection. That desk and the chairs, the window design, the half-full (or empty) glass bottle, use of technic wheels for the planters, amazing detail throughout. Love it.

As someone who is regularly perplexed by the choices made in these polls I thoroughly enjoyed this post, even if I did vote for the choices being satirized.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
koalayummies replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Well there was a huge injustice related to pre-release information did happen surrounding the announcement of Assembly Square. The name of the set was released or leaked or somehow got out before any real information on the official Lego set and one of the knockoff cheater scumbag copycat brands released a set also (initially) called Assembly Square just prior to the official Lego announcement but the knockoff companies' set was entirely copied off of a Lego builder and Eurobricks member's official Lego Ideas submission (it was a Barnes and Noble modular page 3 is the start of the theft discussion) and not the actual official AS set. Adding insult to injury then some Lego fans baselessly accused the original private builder of colluding with the knockoff company with no proof whatsoever. -

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 18 Rumors and Discussion
koalayummies replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yep, all those Megao characters look angry or evil, including the ice cream girl. Appearing at the end of a dark candle-lit hallway of an oddly vacant rural old hotel humming while slowly yet steadily increasing her approach unwavering dead eyes locked on you. -
Eeesh, were some of these faces sandblasted?

[MOC]/[MOD] Winchester's 6-wide trucks and things
koalayummies replied to Winchester's topic in LEGO Town
Agreed, its so much easier to find parts and design this way and paint as you go. But also a good idea to keep Brickset or Bricklink open in the background to check whether selected pieces are actually made or available in desired colors. As far as sharing the mod build, if the original file is freely available and or you attribute the original creator/inspiration credit its usually fine, that red and white cab looks great. -

Death of Lego Investing? Rerelease of Taj Mahal
koalayummies replied to Doom2099's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Didn't really want to come back to this topic but this needs to be addressed. Citing auctions one saw on ebay is not proof, there are shill bidders, shill buyers, shill sales, i.e. fake, not real. They intentionally drive up the auction price posing as an independent bidder when they are either the same person or a part of the scheme. Every single one of those cited anecdotal 'examples' could have been a shill sale, ghost sale, fake sale, done in order to create the illusion that an item has sold for 'x' amount previously, convincing someone that is the price its going for if they want to acquire said item. With something like a Lego set this could be done endlessly to achieve the desired effect. Your third to last and second to last paragraphs have merit but throughout the post calling anyone who pays too much an 'idiot' and making sure to end strongly on that note while effectively giving a pass to the motivating factor of greed. Arguments in this thread that deserve highlighting: 'anyone who can't afford what they wanted before it retires is an idiot' and 'anyone who pays too much for said item that they can no longer obtain for reasonable price is also an idiot'. Don't think anyone is expecting a no-longer-in-production product to be sold without a reasonable profit incentive to the seller but 400%+ markups generates similar outrage as expressed towards the colloquial 'pharma bro' as is evidenced by the members in this thread expressing their desire to see an end to this sort of price gouging. -
The file is downloading as zero bytes, i.e. no data. It is a 4 year old thread, but just to be sure I tried to open it and got the same thing. Old files that were hosted on eurobricks have this happen all the time which is why its advisable to use bricksafe or some similar dedicated file hosting. That answer doesn't help your desire for this file which can probably only be obtained if the OP still has it, but if you're going through a lot of old threads this will be a common occurrence with unusable old LDD files that were once hosted by the forum and not off-site.

Fantastic stuff and always impressive constant stream of new builds. The airport stairs truck, gazelle and firetruck are especially appealing. Fantastic MOCs!

Death of Lego Investing? Rerelease of Taj Mahal
koalayummies replied to Doom2099's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Not everyone can afford everything they would like. Really surprised that needs to be spelled out. Not everyone has the disposable income and capital to buy, room to store, hoard and sit on product in order to huck it for five times the MSRP later. These are fellow Lego builders we are talking about here, fellow Eurobricks members who have mentioned in frequent threads how they have to balance their desired Lego set acquisitions and have missed out because the set was retired before they saved enough. This isn't something that's being made up, if need be the posts can be provided. Then they look to the secondary market and see unscrupulous people asking for five times the price they paid for it. So its their fault they're not as privileged as others to be able to obtain everything they want when they want it. Edit: done with this discussion. One can defend greed however they want; if they didn't do it others would, everyone else is doing it, its their fault for not being born with silver spoons... whatever. -
Death of Lego Investing? Rerelease of Taj Mahal
koalayummies replied to Doom2099's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The situation being responded to was based on the reading of numerous Eurobricks members personal accounts who were disappointed they missed out on many sets in scenarios almost identical to the one described and then would have purchased it on the secondary market but won't because they're being sold for outrageous (not premium) prices due to the scalpers. Another alternative is being discussed here and is in the thread title. And that explains your stance. You know you could have quoted and responded to just about anyone else here but I guess my example must have hit some conscience. -
Amazing work. I think its really awesome! It is a really hard shape and look to match with the restrictions of Lego and those familiar with the Type R history and lineage will appreciate the fact that it kind of has to be white to represent the true Type R color of Championship White. The interior really captures the feel of a Type R as well, iconic red suede seating and race-car inspired cockpit in a production car. Fantastic MOC!

Incredible and amazing work, the trains, the track, the buildings and all the scenery. The photography album is awesome as well, I like the images showing the preparation, setup and terrain construction. Fantastic building!

Lego Re-releases - What would you like to see?
koalayummies replied to ElectroDiva's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Every Belville and Paradisa set! Ok just joking. Pretty much everything that everyone has said so far would be awesome to see re-released. Some classic Castle/Pirates would be great if there is never going to be any substantial new content for historic themes, and of course all of the modulars. Some more nostalgia links since I like how OP did it: Majisto's Magical Workshop Shuttle Launchpad Knight's Castle And how about some Model Team love? -
Yay new updates. The halloween celebration is great and I like that you had the Ninjago characters stop by. Very fun. Hopefully the mine pollution can be cleaned up with no lingering health effects to the minifigures. The head floating on the blue plate in the beach scene to show him swimming is hilarious.

Care to elaborate how the statement baffles you? Its was a pretty straightforward anecdotal comparison. It really shouldn't need explaining but I was not saying I am interested in it nor that it is awesome, what was said was: "if I was a child today" then 'I would be ecstatic about it' which was part of a larger contextual discussion about the set's merits. And now you can say you have seen true to real life police dirt bike unit and a police pickup truck so the concept is no longer weird or over the top. Get this member a free net launcher!

Yeah but I'm not sure how common it is. I have one in the old tan (pre-Brick Yellow) that was part of an old dusty desert airstrip Town/System set.
