A piñata?

You're right. I just checked about a dozen different hair pieces and found two different wigs that have no Lego mark but are absolutely genuine Lego, I believe one is from one of the Modular buildings, the other is a female ponytail wig in Dark Orange I believe. They both just have the letter C stamped in the middle of the head-connection like you mentioned, but another hair piece of the same mould style yet different color does say Lego, albeit very very tiny. Also the spiked hair piece you linked to comes with the CMF Hiker and one Minifigure from the Detective's Office, in Sand Yellow and Black respectively, they both have the Lego mark but in different places, another example of the same mould style but color-dependent Lego marking. That's all I got.

At 2 point whatever billion dollars a year in revenue, I would wait out the stagnation for a year or two before panicking. Maybe that's why I'm not a cutthroat go-go 1980s wall street business guy. Don't you worry about Lego, let me worry about blank.

Is LEGO entering a Dark Age - or am I?
koalayummies replied to Hive's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I feel like this is one of the best times to be an AFOL but I agree with a lot of what has been said, especially that licensed content is taking over while original content, ideas and themes seem a bit neglected. However if no official retail sets appeal to you then you can always MOC/MOD, there are so many ways to get the pieces one needs, multiple digital building programs... You can be a Lego builder without being enthusiastic about retail sets and make things that are way better than Lego would bring to market. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
koalayummies replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Brick Bank has strong neoclassical elements which has Italian design and architectural influences. We can thank this man https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrea_Palladio -
Everything you build is so very gorgeous and wonderful. This is fantastic, love the costumed staff to bring in some less common minifigures into Lego Town. Fantastic MOC and great photography.

The Brick Bank got raided by federal agents after a tip from the laundromat owner after it was discovered that an intentionally disabled laundry machine was being used to funnel cash through a false wall to the bank's vault. Agents later arrested all the bankers and uncovered a vast scheme involving predatory lending and a wide range of financial fraud that helped perpetrate the worst financial crisis since the Great Brickpression. The Laundromat has since reopened in its very own building with new and donated furnishings and machines. Washers (bottom) and driers (above): Ironing boards and community information board: Two new industrial double washer double dryer machine stacks: Combination ATM/change machine: Second floor has the laundromat office with bed for weekends when its most busy, the furniture was donated after the Brick Bank raid: Even after building purchase and renovation there's still a sizable amount of the reward money left over for the information given to the authorities and with no bank in town best to just sleep with it: Relax on the roof and enjoy the view of the city: The minifigures have seen enough of what big banking can do to their town so they've decided to get together and form a credit union financial cooperative to replace the Brick Bank, coming soon.

Very poignant response. And whats with using the word 'copies' to describe purchasing multiples of the same consumer product? Why add the word copies? "I'm buying two" or "I'm buying two copies"? The entirety of human communication has been consumed by brevity except when adults talk about purchasing more than one of the same children's toy. -
The images are still google-cached at the moment, not full size but you can see them here: A small modification of Saturn V site:www.eurobricks.com/forum. If that doesn't work google advanced search this thread title with Eurobricks.com/forum as the site and click images. Note that the technic connector pins inserted in the bottom of the rounded bow 1/4 4X4X1 bricks are technically an illegal connection.

Yeah, this series does seem to have more loose fitting parts than the standard looseness of CMF figures. If my Misako's right arm was any more loose it would spin freely like a propeller and several have mentioned black Lord Garmadon's helmet not having very good clutch power. Regarding the characters you're after, those are some of the easier ones to feel for, feel away with no shame. Its companies that sell toys in blind bags to children that should be ashamed. A few have commented that if you get access to an unopened box taking one entire row of bags will yield a complete set of the series with no duplicates.

Thanks, I didn't think there was an intellectual property rights connection between this minifigure designer and the cartoon's rights owners. The Strong Bad cartoons were pretty funny. Back to blind bags, funny reads: "There is a special place in hell reserved for people who put toys for kids under 12 in blind, randomized bags. They may think they’re evil marketing geniuses and joyfully contemplate their sales increases, but all it makes me want to do is never buy anything from them again. EVER. Ben doesn’t understand that randomized packs of collectibles are a great way to sell more product; he just knows that he really wants the mummy or the wizard or whatever. That’s why he has a very light piggybank and five of the race car driver Imaginext figure. Even my beloved LEGO and Playmobil have fallen to the dark side. It’s spreading. Warn the people!" http://www.mommyish.com/10-things-resent-buying-kids/ "Oh and the incredible amount of money these companies are making by a brilliant strategy I have to applaud. Doing the math, with an average MSRP of $2.99 (some much higher of course) and a collection of at least 10 figures in a series (or more) you can see how quickly that covers the cost of a license. But then factor in the odds of getting one of each in one shot are pretty astronomical so multiplies are a given." https://jimstoybox.com/2017/02/15/blind-bags-are-evil-but-brilliant/ "They come out with a new [expletive] season every five minutes The evil geniuses at Moose Toys come out with a new season of Tiny Plastic Crapkins every other minute. No sooner has your preschooler pestered you to purchase 5000 blind bags in their quest for the Ultra Rare “Maxed-Out Credit Card” Shopkin, and those [expletives] have already brought out an entirely new range – just when you thought you’d finally caught up. There are hundreds of these mofos. Literally. HUNDREDS. BUT, the inherent and perpetually-frustrating contradiction of Shopkins is that despite there being thousands of the [expletives], no matter how many packets you buy you will keep getting multiples of the same 20 characters over and over again." https://hugzillablog.com/2016/10/10/five-reasons-why-shopkins-can-go-megabluck-themselves/

So he's taking responsibility for the idea of blind bags for Lego? I don't have a problem with him taking that credit, but he should feel bad. Its a slimy way to sell toys to kids. I.e. kid wants a specific figure, isn't particularly good at feeling for them and neither are their parents, thinks they have the one they wanted, go home, open, disappointed, back to the toy store... again. Brilliant from a ruthless marketing perspective, rather disgusting and immoral when considering the target market (ages 5+). Having talked to both kids and parents about this, the sentiment is echoed. The kids may love the product but its the manner in which it is sold and distributed that is objectionable. Also does this 'Strong Bad' have anything to do with the "Homestar Runner" flash animated cartoons as its the first and most prominent thing that comes up when googling strong bad but Mike Rayhawk isn't mentioned at all in connection.

That is amazing and really shows the various build techniques and play features well. The money spewing out of the ATM was funny. Thanks for sharing. -
Glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. The science-oriented ones get a pass but the overwhelming majority are licensed/based off existing content. Seems rather contrary to the notion of user-generated ideas, so this completely original Idea is a very welcome addition. Thanks for showing some of the build and highlighting cool parts. Fantastic review! It is a beautiful set. We need more original content and less licensed/rehashed/member-berries.

Is the AFOL community became harder to please?
koalayummies replied to YellowCorvette's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Some AFOL need to stop perpetually wishing and asking for Lego to make things for them and instead make it themselves. Making your own creations is the pinnacle of Lego building. Its a construction toy with practically unlimited possibility. Instead of complaining about things one sees wrong with a set or wanting Lego to produce something just for them they should change it to their liking or build it themselves. Between LDD/LDraw, Pick A Brick, Bricklink, Ebay, Brickset, constant introduction of new pieces and the largest color palette in Lego history this probably the best time to be an AFOL and its only going to get better. -

Thats a pretty good idea! Itaria has had to do a lot of work for this game though so unless he's not completely tired of it or if you're down to bust out the spreadsheets...? [no accounts made after July 30 2017 ]
