  1. Sorry for the BUMP, but the locomotive is finally done, and with a streamlined passenger train as well. See the first post for more details and real life pictures!
  2. Post updated with newer model version and better pictures. The yellow color / blue scheme has been changed to black and dark bluish gray and the wheels replaced with a different, sliding design. Enjoy! EDIT: please note, the link in the main post goes to my page where the LDD file is, but it is NOT a direct link, as Bricksafe dosen't allow for that.
  3. good point, never thought about that! Finally got Benny's SPACESHIP! finished, and now just need the HQ, car and Benny's robot dog to complete the scene.
  4. This should be the final edit of Sam Sinister's house before ordering the real bricks at some point next month. I added a tower above the front door and changed the house color to white. among other small chnages. (The car's colors have reverted back to white and black as well, due to the car model that's already been finished in real brick as of last January.)
  5. HUGE UPDATE / BUMP: I took the "Old Fishing Store" Ideas set number 21310 and turned back the clock on it from a rundown fishing shop in the modern era to a modular 1920's supply depot for Johnny Thunder and his friends, also known as the Adventurers. I added a set 7596-style freight Crane that's a part of "Trash Compacter Escape" (a Toy Story 3 set). I revised the color scheme of the mainly dark bluish gray building instead of the original sand green, and removed a ton of the mixed bunch of colors that were used a "patch jobs" on the dock and building proper. I removed the roof and redid it completely to be brick-built with slopes instead of plates and tiles at an certain angle. I also stripped the many windows styles off and replaced them with a single type. I added a warehouse section to the lower floor by sending one of the walls about 16 studs back, allowing for storage space for various equipment not yet designed. More details coming to the first post!
  6. After three years of piecemeal acquisitions here and there, the Western layout is slowly coming together at last... Just some wild western wagons and a stagecoach. The Army ammunition wagon with cannon is inspired by set 6716 (covered wagon) while the stagecoach is a color-swapped version of 79108 (Stagecoach escape). The red delivery wagon is a snake-oil salesman's shop, while the two tan wagons are to be used in the western town I plan on building sometime next year. This model features very slight modifications to set 31048 (Lakeside Lodge) to turn an already old-style log cabin into a more Wild Western style building. I simply removed the chair from the dock and cooking fire from out front of the dwelling. The good thing about having two of this set is I get to use the one from a while ago that I had torn apart to make changes to the later finished one. (Such as taking most of the "glass" windows out and replacing them with opening frames and shutters. This works beautifully except in the one spot where the space was too small to make it work.) The inside features a rifle on the wall, a bottle of moonshine, a cup, wood stove, table with letter and pen, and a simple bed. This bridge design was originally downloaded by me (I don't remember the name of the original designer who created the bridge) from the LEGO Factory / Design By ME page in 2010-ish and was never built in real life due to questions about it's strength. I came across it again while looking at my MOCpage account's older files and made it into the version seen above using newer parts and a longer frame. The new version of the bridge fits any of my trains, and should fit all official LEGO trains except for double stack containers such as sets 10219 (Maersk Train) and 10170 (TTX Intermodal Double-Stack Car).
  7. A big thank you to Wes Turngate over on Flickr for helping get the angle right to put the bridge supports in place. The LDD file is slightly different than the pictures as it is 2/3 of a brick taller to add in the proper parts to make it work. The bridge fits any of my trains, and should fit all official LEGO trains except for double stack containers such as sets 10219 (Maersk Train) and 10170 (TTX Intermodal Double-Stack Car). Side view of the bridge. The old design is on the left, new is on the right. (NOTE: The new bridge is in the LDD file, but the old one is NOT!) Here is the ldd file for the newer bridge: bridge link As usual, comment, questions and complaints are always welcome!
  8. The inspiration for most of my truck's style was the truck from Steven Spielberg's debut movie "Duel". The truck used in that film is a 1955 Peterbilt 281/351, and looks like this (not my model!) This model was made by Flickr user Karwik, as seen here.
  9. Sorry for digging up this thread, but the tanker truck has been replaced with a semi-truck version inspired by set 8486 (Mack's team truck). This thread needed a face-lift at that point, so I re-uploaded the newer pictures to the main post, and changed the writing around quite a bit. I hope you enjoy the new stuff I put in, as this should become a real-world MOC by January 2018, a full year after the first post on this thread was created. Once again, sorry for the Frankenstein-bumps every six months.
  10. I don't think these wheels exist in red @McWaffel... The other wheels involve too much friction. Also, in other news... The project is almost done, as I just need some final boiler-top parts, the cowcatcher and the 30-some odd letters for the tender! Here we see the engine maneuvering through some tight switch track.
  11. Hello again! Could someone please make set 70656 (garmadon, Garmadon, GARMADON!) in LDD? I only need the shark mech so i can make a black / dark bluish gray version without legs/ feet for my Adventurers bad guys, and don't want to buy the set just replace 99% of the sand blue parts. Can somebody please help with this? I don't think there are that many new parts on the model...
  12. I personally really like your model, after having built my own SPIV theme. Also, don't feel bad if no-one post on your threads, I've had many of mine sit for months with no responses, just views. Look at it this way: your post could be helpful to someone who isn't a member here (yet), and who you inspire to do something similar. Your never know who might be reading, after all!
  13. my favorite is a toss up between the 1950's GM Aerotrain, a failed prototype... ...and Frisco 1522, a steam loco that has been sidelined in 2002 after issues with the boiler tubes and funding problems... darn you insurance prices!! (picture in spoiler for size) Here we can see my Lego versions of these engines, along with War-baby Daylight 4460: Top row: Frisco 1522 (4-8-2 Mountain type) Middle row: Southern Pacific 4460 (4-8-4 "Warbaby" Daylight) Bottom row: General Motors' Aerotrain (failed experimental prototype diesel + consist)
  14. Sadly, this model will not be built, but you can build it if you want. Please post pictures if you do @turk187!
  15. The finding and ordering of parts for the behemoth 4-10-4 steam locomotive named "Red Devil" has begun. I've decided to use 4.5v / 12v era wheels for the tender, as there are no 9v / PF era wheels in red except for the steamer wheels with rubber bands. This will be my longest loco yet, and as such it won't fit in my train shed. (the cowcatcher sticks out by about four studs too much.) Also, the ten red drivers cost about $40 dollars, (OUCH!) but since I have the red 12v train wheels and small flanged loco wheels I think it dragged down the cost a lot to a more reasonable $170 for the remaining parts not seen above. Any thoughts?
  16. This model is the train station and is currently sitting in parts in one of my bins, waiting to be assembled on Christmas morning, so stay tuned for real life pictures on that day! NOTE: Another older station model is being disassembled for it's parts to be used on this project. That model hasn't been taken apart yet, but it will be. This picture shows only about half the parts needed. Also, the first post pictures where updated and re-arranged.
  17. BUMP: The Army fort has been remade from this... ...to this, with the updated Fort Legoredo model is next on the build-list. Any thoughts on this update?
  18. The engine has been switched back to the RSD-12 diesel, and new real-life pictures are in the first post!
  19. six month BUMP: I updated the main post in almost every way, with a new freight train (it was actually built in may but I forgot to add it here. ) and a updated tunnel, among other stuff. The trio of engine is all the ones I want to build for my Western layout. The tepees + fort and town are next on the list (in that order), after the parts for four of the carriages seen above arrive (the stagecoach is already built). Sadly, the double-track tunnel may never be constructed... Enjoy!
  20. I just added revised the ldd file and digital screenshots to the main post. Keep your eyes peeled for real life pictures (coming soon)!
  21. How about an enlarged width-wise for the Emerald Night (and other steam locos) set 10027 (Train Shed) from 2003? It was the ONLY train shed released thus far, and we need another one!
  22. UPDATE: Real life pictures added! Above you can see it next to my other already-built Museum of Transportation models.
  23. With regards to the figures, yes, they are custom sticker torsos. The magnetic couplers are sold in different amounts according to how many the seller has. You just have to enter in the amount you want (3) from the store you choose. I generally buy from my own country's stores, (USA) and skip the stores from far away places (Hawaii and Alaska)... you save a lot on shipping and handling / customs by buying in your home country. Also, no I didn't built it, but someone in my local LEGO User Group (LUG) did... it looks pretty awesome! The reason for me not building it is storage space for the extra-big-and-wide model is at a premium. Simply put: it's just to big for my storage system!
  24. Here we can see my newest brick-built model, Frisco 1522 (4-8-2 "Mountain" type) meeting my long-built Southern Pacific 4460 (4-8-4 "Northern" type). Why were they packed up like so, you ask? So I could take them to the Museum of Transportation to photograph them! Here we see the Frisco 1522 on the real mountain type.... ...and the southern Pacific 4460 on the bigger GS-6 Daylight! More close-up pictures of the 1522 model coming this weekend!
