Well that foliage is just brilliant - the build really seems to be alive. Stunning work.

The texturing of the wall turned out great, really nice build overall.

[SR - FB] Revenge on Mardier
Elostirion replied to MiloNelsiano's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great build overall. I think it might be a bit too "solid" for a settlement as young as Bastion, but then eagain the style of the houses fits it really well. The collection of minifigures is just great, it really brings along the vibe of those anarchists/pirates, who just seek to live out their different opinions. In my opinion those should definitely inspire future "civilized" builds for the Sea Rats. -
It's really obvious you enjoy building those tropical builds, they style fits perfectly.

[COR - Ch1 Cat B] The sheltered cove

It's just a really nice build. Great atmosphere, and the waves stand out for me as well. A nice entry for sure. -
Both the water and the vegetation really have that feeling of "into the wild" - great job!

[ESL - CH 1B] About stones, ores and berries
Elostirion posted a topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
About stones, ores and berries Berreli, February 616 Joaquin Seramon Fontonajo had joind Ivo Fortesque on his way to Berreli to find adventure and unknown lands, to find glory and power, to find property and riches. But he had never planned to find her. Since they had met in the jungle, the indigenous girl Poca accompanied Joaquim. Even now, when he was collecting rock samples to take home, she stayed with him. While she they spoke different languages, communication was not much of a problem. He admired her spontaneity, even the volatility of her thoughts at some points. She might have been focused on that flower just seconds ago but wouldn't even waste a single thought about it after she had discovered something different. They were qual in that regard, always looking for new discoveries. But what he had fallen in love with her for was her lightheartedness and her love towards all the little things of life. Just like now, when she had found some of these berries that Joaquin did not know. As always she just started talking in her joyful voice, gesticulating at him and at the berries in her hands, laughing and smiling all along, and even though he did not understand a word of what she said he was under her charm and looked at the best thing that had happened to him his entire life. Two more shots of the scene: Joaquin, collecting rock samples. Poca, collecting some berries. The scene at sunset (I was going for this as my main pic at first, but I guess I would have needed a proper background to make this one look really good) ------------------------------------------------------ I tried some (for me) new approaches/techniques here and am quite confident with how it turned out. Background has been inspired by Kai's Smuggler's Cove. Challenge 1 was fun for me, I improved my building skills and I am quite happy with both my entries. Thanks and good luck to everyone. -
Regarding the scorecard I don't agree 100% with my income. I have built a cotton plantation and a residence, both small. Small Plantation: 5 DB. Monopoly of MCTC: 7.5 DB. Small Residence: 2 DB. ------------------------------ Overall income: 9.5 DB The scorecard states 7 DB, so I guess the monopoly-bonus has not been calculated? Or did I miss anything?

Baseplate, the tower and its entrance, horse with saddlebags, the grass and flowers, the small rocks, green blending into tan and brown - all just perfect. But that tree, that tree...

We see four different elements here, all executed in a great way in their own (good rock techniques, especially on the one in the water; nice vegetation; great water especially with the green parts; the ascending beach is even my favourite). However all those elements fit together so perfectly that it gives a well rounded and beautifully looking entry to that challenge. In other words: Just great!

So well done! The boundaries of the roof stand out for me, those really define the style/atmosphere and do a great job about it. -

Simple, but well done. My favourite part is how well it sticks to the style of your house in the middle of Pontelli.- 11 replies

Great to see the first (?) mine of BoBS - and even greater that it's Eslandolan. Execution is really nice, I like how the copper ore is reflected in the rock design.- 19 replies

What a nice build, I really like the vegetation a lot. Also the way the wall blends into both the forest and the background works out superb.

Well done on the execution of the minifigs, but it's the background information and just the fact that you add so much life to the BoBS game with this wich makes this a really great contribution.

This is also a pretty nice build. And the minifig and minipig posing is really well done.

[ESL-FB] The Fontonajo Gardens in Nova Terreli
Elostirion replied to Elostirion's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks for all the nice comments, I really appreciate that many of you actually read all my text. :-) And yeah, I am quite aware that builds 1 and 5 provide a lot more detail and quality than the others. So am I, the city provides way too much potential for only one or two people to build. I hope more will follow the call. -
The white beach looks fantastic. More people should give this a try, some nice inspiration indeed. I really like the minifig posing as well.

[ESL - MRCA End] : The end of the Appleseed
Elostirion replied to Tezclatipoca's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Cudos for having the motivation to MOC such an unfortunate even for yourself. Nicely executed as well. The reef shows some clever techniques, really cool. -
Definitely not enough comments yet for such a nicely executed MOC. The drawer with the two bottles and the golden goblet stands out as the highlight for me, great one. Befort's desk is lovely done as well. The chair design is really clever, I've always struggled, those are really good. I'd suggest to differentiate the carpet in front of the fireplace from the rest of the floor (one with studs showing, the other without), but that's about it for suggestion. The rest is great!
