I don't like Gandalfs hair. When I was looking at the Hobbit, It seemed that Gandalfs wig resembles Thorins hair alot. So i painted the piece gray. But I'm stil not sure. Any idea's? The hat with the hair was another experiment.

This is Dain II Ironfoot, the lord of Iron Hills, The King under the Mountain and the scottish boss dwarf who rode that pig. The challenging part was the legs - All my previous dwarves have been standing still and this guy had a riding pose. It uses some small ball joints that are hidden under the armor skirt. The pig works on its own - Dain doesn't. Kill them elves! More on my blog, as usual. Enjoy.

Here's yet another dwarf creation; Dwalin, the muscle of the group, in his reclaimed Erebor chainmail coat. This MOC was inspired by getting lot of those short chain pieces for cheap. The color scheme felt quite beautiful too, so I gave it a try. The axe was probably the hardest part. Weta's design had so odd 45 degree angles so I had to fiddle with it a long tme before coming up with a version that uses some magnifiying glasses and clip-bars to connest the blades. I absolutely love all the orcs from the LotR and Hobbit line. They are so detailed and I feel like they look so much better than the Fantasy Era trolls. Heck, they even look better than the more recent CMF goblin IMO. With that said, I was wondering what orc is everyone else favorite? Why is that particular orc your favorite? Is it your favorite from the movie, because Lego did the best job representing them, because the orc just looks amazing, or what? If it is an orc that has different versions, like the Mordor Orcs with and without hair, or the Gundabad Orcs with different face paint, which one of that particular type is your favorite? -
Help me. Can't... Stop... Building... Dwarves... This one, Balin in his old Erebor coat, was done for a super secret dwarven project with Thráin. I got inspired by the rich color and details of the clothing; dark red is definitely one of LEGO's best colors. The arms are quite posable using ball joints on shoulders and minifig legs on elbows. Whilst the war rages in the North, in the western lowlands, in the middle of nowhere, the Crossroads Inn is always open for weary travelers. The Innkeeper, his wife and wife's sisters will receive all who come for rest, food and if they bring enough gold or gems, top notch weapons. The Innkeeper, a master smith, has his shoppe behind the Inn, whilst the open air armory,eatig tables and coziness of the hostesses invite everyone who can afford a good nights rest, a hearty meal, a razor sharp souvenir and a merry good time. Since I run on a very tight budget, I paint my bricks gray (airspray). Hope you like it. In the northern plains beyond the elven cities, lies the human city-stronghold of Der Golad. Ruled by its wise king, the city serves as a human enclave in the north and as protection against the evil schemes and machinations of the Dragon King and his henchmen. The king, blood related to the mighty Emperor, has witnessed the utter destruction of the elven cities by the Dragon King and his monstrous army, who has steamrolled thru all that opposes him, aided by fearless armored uruks, giant trolls, dragons and evil potentate warlocks. Sending word to the Emperor, the people of Der Golad prepare for the great siege that will come as part of the Dragon King's campaign to ensnare the North into his power. But Der Golad's walls are impregnable, they possess the finest archers of the north, and every citizen has taken arms to defend their city and livelihood. A mercenary company, led by Kara the Amazon and Rustius have come forth to fight for the King of Der Golad, albeit for the right price. Time is running short, and allies are in scattered in the wind. Now that all of my Lake-town Guard polybags are gone, I have a new updated list of things for sale/trade and things I am looking for. I am currently looking for: Uruk-hai Undead Soldiers (from Pirate Ship Ambush) Pirates of Umbar/Corsairs (from Pirate Ship Ambush) Mordor Orcs (any kind will do, hair or bald) Moria Orcs Orc Hunters (ponytail version from Lake-town Attack Complete Witch King Battle For trade I have: Hulk bigfig (tan pants) Green Goblin bigfig 3x Rancor 3x Wampa Tantaun Newer Jabba the Hutt Older Jabba the Hutt Rotta 4x 1x bigfig tan Troll (from Fantasy Era) The Lonely Mountain (no minifigures or Smaug, just the bricks.. great for getting pearl gold and sand green pieces cheap (less than 7 cents per piece)) Some of the stuff I have for trade is new and still sealed in the plastic baggies (Rancor and Trolls). Hey Guys - Here is my first shot a making a couple of customs. I used the waterslide decal technique. I think these came out ok, but I am planning on doing a second draft to perfect them. LUG Brasil was invited to display some Middle Earth LEGO at an Anime convention in Rio de Janeiro. Due to space constraints we had to combine Hobbit and LOTR in a single layout, which proved a bit challenging for the geography/chronology freak in me. Not sure whether to tag this as a MOD or a MOC, because the landscape is a MOC but most of the actual builds are MODs or even original sets. Anyway, here is how it turned out. The left side is intended to represent the Battle of Five Armies from The Hobbit, while the right side is the Battle of Helm's Deep, from The Lord of The Rings. Bag End and the major characters' minifigs were also included upfront, just because people love them so much. This was a last-minute decision, but really helped attract people to our table and was probably the most photographed part of the layout. Hobbit + LOTR @ Anime Wings by preuss, on Flickr For the Hobbit side, I've built a mountain to better display the Dol Guldur sets - there are 2x 79014, 5x 79011, 2x 79001 and 1x 79015 scattered over there. In front of that, there is a Mirkwood Elf outpost made of 5x 79012 and 1x 79004 next to a mixed Lake Town / Dale made of 2x 79017, one 79013, one modded 79016 and the guards from 32x 30216. Some of the polybags' builds were modded into the little catapult boats. There's also a 79002 somewhere to help with the scenery. On the LOTR side, there is a 9474 on steroids (I essentially increased the tower, raised the terrain and did some landscaping around it) 2x 9471 and the mandatory 10237, plus an extra Ent and half of a 9476. The Isengard area ended up looking pretty poor due to bad planning on my part - if only I hadn't left the rest of the 9474s at home, it would have looked much better. Please let me know what you think. This was my first public LEGO display and I'd love to know how it could be improved. I've already learned a lot of DON'Ts while unsuccessfully trying to transport parts of this one to an out-of-state expo, so any tips to help moving big landscapes would be greatly appreciated as well. Hello everybody After I saw the Hobbit - Battle of five Armies movie in cinema, I was very dissappointed that there wasn't a funeral scene for Thorin, Kili and Fili to say goodbye to them. Hi everyone! I'm new to the forums, but not new to LEGO. I've been building since I was a child, and while I got out of it during high school and college, the minifigs series brought me right bag in (Zombie figure, I love you). I grew up with the Crusaders and Forestmen series, mostly staying with the Castle series, though I did have a few beloved Paradisa sets. Now I mostly collect LotR or Hobbit sets. I'm planning out a Bree MOC, using the MMV (what a surprise, right?). I'm also a sucker for new Marvel minifigs, and of course the minifig series.

Hello everyone, after few weeks of work I get a brilliant idea for creation, and so I started to build it in LDD. After 5 days of thinkink designing, drawing I created this Tower. It is quite similar to the Bell tower from actual BOFA movie, but I added few more things of my own and by using some of new (for me) techniques which I learnd from my previous LDD creation) I can present to you this MOC. I am so amazed by this, that finally I will turn it into the real bricks. It will be my biggest Lake Town add on which will be turned into the real creation. My previous ones are already done, but I want to finish a small Lake Town diorama so then I will present it in here after all will be done. What are you going to do now, Bowman!? You are forsaken... As a conclusion to the final Hobbit movie, and to Middle Earth... The poster for the final Hobbit movie, the Battle of the Five Armies, built in Lego! Finally! After 2 months of work, hours of set up, buildings crashing/rebuilding, and adding lighting, it is finished! I built the Hobbit Poster for the Final Hobbit movie in Lego (excluding Smaug). Poster link. I had tons of fun building this, probably my favorite (but most tedious) part of this is the water and fire effect with it. I hope you like it too! Also my first and maybe last entry into the CCCXII 4th Wall: Backstory: My friend and I are doing a collab of this poster, and were going to enter it into the CCCXII. I was going to build Laketown in the picture, and he was going to build Smaug. I decided not to build the exact poster, but added my own artistic flare with the stone. Also, I don't have that much brown. :P What you see is basically everything, I have basically no more plates or tiles. I did have a ton of fun building and designing it however, which is most important. :) Problem: Unfortunately, Smaug is not ready. We are going to take pictures of both sections together at a later date, but after the CCCXII is over. However, I still wanted to enter into the CCCXII. Conclusion: so after we talked about it, I took the photo of Laketown, excluding Smaug. So this is only HALF of the collab. We will take photos of that at a later date. It's the time of the year when the bearded fellow in red clothes travels around the lands... But this time he has a warhammer instead of sack of presents and he shouts "Baruk Khazad! Khazad-Ai-Menu" instead of "ho ho ho"... This is based on the armor Thráin, father of Thorin Oakenshield, wears in the Battle of Azanulbizar near the gates of Moria. It is slightly seen in the extended cut of Desolation of Smaug. I'm very happy with the shaping of the armor - Had to buy a bunch of odd-shaped dark red parts on Bricklink before building... Hello everybody After seeing that fantastic Iron Builder MOC from Legopard ( https://www.flickr.c.../in/dateposted/ ), I decided to make something similar. Due to the fact I love playing Tabletop Football, I tried to make an Lego Lord of the Rings themed version. Lord of the Rings Tabletop Football by Balbo ., auf Flickr It works quite ok (so it´s possible to play with it), but the bar construction with the 1x1 bricks and the Lego 4L bars (they are inside the 1x1 bricks) isn´t perfect, especially when playing a real game because sometimes the bar construction can break. But I´m planing on updating the MOC with a new and more stable construction for the bars in the future Thanks for watching

Hi, I'm Anduin1710 and I'm an AFOL from Germany. I was born in East Berlin, this means to get a little LEGO set was always like birthday, x-mas and eastern together! And Lego was always very expensive too. ... I started to buy and collecting Lego, since I found the Lego Minifiures Series 2. I'm very interessed in history, so I found the historical minifigures pritty cool. I like Star Wars too, so I stared to buy some Lego Star Wars sets. I found the Lego Digital Designer to creat my own MOCs on my computer. I'm a big THE LORD OF THE RINGS fan, so I started to build my own LOTR sets. And with the Lego LOTR and THE HOBBIT sets my dream come true. In April 2014 I joined Lego cuusoo (now it is lego ideas) to publish my creations.
