Location: F02, Lesser Drigo Tags: Spying Log of Agent G: I can't believe this. I get back from my vacation, and they send me on a spying mission. On Pombe, no less. M.A.N.T.I.S. always has at least one spy on Pombe at all times. We would just bug him, like we usually do, but he doesn't wear any clothes. Oddly enough, this is not the strangest situation one of our Pombe spies has gotten into. But what could he be doing out on this abandoned walkway with a figure dressed in red...? I'M BACK! yay! Sorry for the bad picture quality, camera is not working. C&C welcome, hope it's okay that I used you, Pombe.

Location: F02 Lesser Drigo Tags: Spying, Spaceship, Land Vehicle For being a desert planet covered in lava flows, it was amazing to Hawk that water was the number one resource on the planet. Mantis Command wanted info on how Octan gathered water on the planet and where it was located. A number of Octan moisture evaporators had been found with the information gained from the mining satellite on F03. Hawk was given a semi-autonomous Hazardous Environment Mining Drone from MANTIS command to help him hack into the Moisture evaporator. The drone had been developed for operations on the surface of Torresta, so not even a lava flow would slow it down. - Hawk in his Hornet Gunship lower the Hazardous Enviroment Mining Drone, or H.E.M.D for short into position. - H.E.M.D: Unit is ready to serve. Input Command. Hawk: Alright, cross the lava flow to the evaporator, and hack the controls. You also need to extract a data chip for HQ. - H.E.M.D.: Unit has received commands. Begin Execution? Hawk: Yes, begin - H.E.M.D.: Objective reached. Hawk: Good jod H.E.M.D. H.E.M.D.: Commencing Hacking. Activating laser saw. Hawk: Wait what? H.E.M.D.: Retrieving Data chip. - Hawk: Stupid drone. H.E.M.D.: This unit performed all of it's tasks given. Any error is in the controlling unit. Hawk: I suppose you did do everything I asked of you. H.E.M.D.: I detect two lifeforms approaching. Activating laser saw. Hawk: No wait. - Myserious Native1: Greeting MANTIS warrior. We represent the Flamosian Resistance. Ever since the ones you call Oktann arrived on this planet, they have been setting up their poison machines and driving us from the surface of the planet. Hawk: You mean the moisture extractors? Mysterious Native2: Yes. What you call water is a deadly poison to our kind. Thousands of our kind have perished. Ever since MANTIS has arrived, we have observed that your kind is dedicated to the destruction of the Oktann. We would like to aid your warriors in this effort. Hawk: I wouldn't say dedicated. Our Intel shows that Captain Pangolinus is being transferred between two Octan facilities on Lesser Drigo in an attempt to throw us off the trail. Since Agent Urtem is undergoing some upgrades and Da King is trying out for Andromeda's Got Talent, Bass, you'll be working with HT-1000, who we just pulled out of hiding after he stole the CEO's hat some months ago. Who? (Let the dogs out?) Shut.Your. Singing. Face. But.. You are to intercept the transport by whatever means necessary. Feel free to blow up anything you find for a bonus. (Ration of oil of course) Let's go bass. LET IT GO! LET IT GO! CAN'T HOLD IT BACK ANY *Chucks Computer at Bass* Later On Lesser Drigo Ok, you insisted on hijacking this Octan turret, Bass. Then you had to hot-wire it because you vaporized the keys with the guard. Are you finally ready? Of course I'm ready! I was born doing this! You're a robot, you were never born. Never mind, here comes the transport. Ok, Ready, Aim, and SHOOT! C'mon! He's getting away! What are you doing? It looks like I wired the Trigger to the self destruct button by mistake. Location: F02 Lesser Drigo Tags: Science, Land Vehicle Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // With Dr. Long still sidelined with all of the issues relating to our time machine discovery I once again found myself serving our delightfully different CEO. It is always an honor to have pombe ask for my assistance and I was overjoyed to have him request I stop by his office. Interestingly, I noticed that his copy of Domination for Dummies was different from my own. It must be because he is an executive that his was written by a Mistress T and based on her outfit from the cover she seemed to be VERY stern. I also really have to respect pombe, despite being an explorer he showed last week that he had a lab for conducting experiments and I noticed he also had a book titled "Advanced ATM" which must be his way of exploring his engineering side. I think he was also researching to hold out during interrogation because there was one titled "Learning to Love Pain." He was curious to see how we could manipulate plants into having larger root systems to access water deeper in the ground. He gave us some seeds and asked me to see what I could do with them on Lesser Drigo. I made great progress and we had many plants growing within a few days. I recognized this plant as the one from pombe's lab last week and it must be his favorite kind because he sent ED-208 very precise instructions on how to best harvest the plant. He also asked us to use the desert environment to dry the plants out, which makes sense as they would be easier to transport that way. We were also fortunate that pombe had supplied us with a helpful vehicle that we could use to spray various plant foods and other beneficial chemicals on the crop. I'm still not sure why pombe referred to it as the "3 baller", but he seemed very amused by the shape of the chemical storage container. ED-208 wasn't happy that the vehicle was unarmed but pombe was most insistent that we not have anything that could accidentally destroy the crop or set it on fire. He said that would be a disaster and that he would be "majorly bummed." And I certainly don't want to disappoint our CEO! ED-208 seems to have an affinity for pombe and he was actually very eager to help out. He got involved in some of the plant care, which was great to see. I'm very happy to see that ED-208 is such a fan of our CEO and I guess pombe's associate Sue has had ED-208 help teach her discipline. Which makes sense as robots are very logical and disciplined! With Guy on his way back to the OCS Axel, Hans-Heinrich Himmelmann, was still among the only member's left on Lesser Drigo. "Hans, I need your help over at my camp to install a dish on my mech to serve as a listening station..." "Hey JS...Help you say..new dish...I'm Kinda Busy...uh huh hmm..You have some beer there...ha, sure on my way.." "sweet come on down then. After an hour or so JS Smith was able to hook up the tanker to the water canisters while Hans came on by with his tools ] After a hard days work a few beers were in order, Cheers. This concludes lesser Drigo, JS was told to head back home before getting set for his next order request and HANS went back to his camp to finish with his work.

Dr. Long: "Hans-Heinrich Himmelmann, we need to talk." Henry: "Is this about that young engineer kid I kinda chased out of the Earthship I constructed? The kid was a menace. He'd a' messed it all up!" Dr. Long: "No... This is about more than that. You are aware that Octan employees are required to abide by certain common-sense rules, are you not?" Henry: "Oh boy... Yes. I'm aware of tha regulations." Dr. Long: "Then you are deliberately disobeying them. That's not what I wanted to hear. Let me show you something. Come over here." "Look into that holo-screen. We're in the O.C.S. Axle's control room. From here I can access all the security footage we gather from our innumerable cameras, corporation wide. I'll give you a glimpse, shall I?" H3: "That's really not necessa--" Dr. Long: "Here we have Engineering Bay Gplus-003, where one of your colleagues is testing out Octancorp's latest line of Mecha walkers. He'll have some adjustments to make, assuredly, but do you notice the smile on his face? He's enjoying keeping busy and the harmonious work-environment in which he finds himself. It says so right here in his file. We weren't even testing for that. As soon as he finishes his report on the prototype, we can begin manufacturing these walkers and sell them to customers, and use them for Octan's own interests. He fits in." H3: "I think I can see what you're getting a--" "And here we have Hangar Gn-606, where First Branch Executive, and acting CEO, John Hannibal is disembarking on a final mission from the Axle. It is one of the rarest traits in all mankind, to speak subjectively. The problem, however, is that you do not function well as part of the team. Your behavior is erratic and antisocial, and some of your habits are simply non-regulation. Do you think Octan would have missed such incidents as these?" Incident aboard Axle Report: H3 Vomit in Hallway. Incident on F02: H3 Verbally Harasses Software Developers. H3: "So that's why I was stationed there... Some of this feels a bit like a violation of human rights, I gotta say. Are you telling me you watch me every second of the day?" Dr. Long: "Yes. It's in your contract. Section 12, subsection 14, Line 7. Octan has every single room on the O.C.S. Axle watched, and the air ducts as well. This is a space ship, not a hotel, Mr. Himmelmenn. If something goes wrong we need to know immediately. I did not want to show you all of this, but you left me no choice. You attacked a colleague, Hans-Heinrich. As competent as you are, and as easily controlled through simpler means than this, I must do something, as your Branch Executive, to ensure that you behave. So... Next time I catch you drinking on the job, or with a blood alcohol concentration a drop above regulations, you will find yourself in a much more hostile work environment... after you undergo rehabilitation on one of the most dangerous planets in our control. Location: F02 - Lesser Drigo Tags: Spaceship, Land Vehicle Back aboard the Axle, Pilot John Hannibal prepares for a new mission. As the trolley pulls in to take the pilots to their ships, he has an extra bounce in his step. The company's needs are starting to coincide with Hannibal's own ambitions and he is happy to be leaving for his last mission based out of the Axle. [O - F02] HANGAR 2 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr The Axle has become a great ship under Dr. Long. Ever moving, steadily humming, never boring. It was larger than most capital cities and was the heart of Octan's presence in this galaxy. Every deck was it's own community of mechanics, scientists, cooks, farmers, engineers, entrepreneurs, civil servants, firefighters, artists, teachers, mothers, fathers, drivers, pilots, barbers, tailors, dancers, bartenders, medics, tattoo artists, and the occasional special forces agent. Everything moved in complete chaos and unison. Every body had a purpose and every action a mission. But Octan would need more Axles if it was going to maintain its position in the galaxy. Location: F02 - Lesser Drigon Tags: engineering, civil, Octan, building, spaceship It was on of those rare moments in which Hans-Heinrich "H3" Himmelmann was content with himself and the world. Maybe not this particular world here on lesser Drigo, but with life in general. He had installed and serviced new water pumps, build a station and even finished building a new earthship, a work he usually enjoyed the most. After two exhausting weeks we was ready to leave the planet, go back to the axle and finally take his vacation. What was even more, he had stopped drinking excessively and ,after overcoming a cold turkey, he was feeling extremely well. So when he heard the "Duck" (a small Octan cargo and crew ship - called Duck by all Octan employees for it's strange shape) descending onto the landing pad he was really happy. However, he was less happy when the duck had finally landed, opend it's hatch and a familiar face greated him laughinly. "Damn" Henry mubled "what does that nooby kiddo want here. He'll screw up everything I've worked for so hard these last days ..." But Henry became even more infuriated when the young engineer opened his mouth: "Good morning Hans-Heinrich" Henry really hated to be called by his real name, "I've come to inform you directly from Dr. Long, who is now our Branch Executive, that you will not return to the axle today, nor within the next days, until all signs of M.A.N.T.I.S activity on Lesser Drigo have been extinguished by our special forces!" Henry was dumbstruck, all this effort, all this hard work was supposed to be for vain? When would he finally be able to rest a few days. If he carried on this hard much longer, he'd surely go mad. But this was not all. The young lad continued: "I'm also here to inform you that henceforth you will work here under my command! Octan knows all about your behaviour so that some executives want me to keep a close eye on you." That's when H3 lost is for good. He went back into the station, grabbed his whiskey bottle and started screaming: "What the hell is going on here, why me, why the F**K are they doing this to me?" He then took his hammer, chased out the front door in order to find his new "boss" and teach him a lesson ... Extra shots: PS: sorry, screwed up the title again ... thanks Bob!

Location: F02 - Lesser Drigo Tags: engineering, civil, Octan Once again it was a hot day on Lesser Drigo. H3 was still down on this hell like planet and really buisy maintaining the water pumps that had been stationed here and had a rough time running under the planet's extreme conditions. Sure, the planet was rich in water, but it wasn't like water on earth. Here the water was often located near tectonic faults and thus usually super heated. This made the water an interesting object to study as it contained a lot of rare minerals that could possibly be mined from it. But running the equiment was really difficult. The water was always close to boiling and rising from bottum of this lake, steam jets vented into the planets air making it almost impossible to breath. And, to be hit by the hot water could be really painful. So working here was definetely not that much fun! Once again, one of the pumps had given up under these conditions. H3 was send to fix to problem and so he had to walk the slippery plank all the way to the pump's control module. When he finally got there he emmidiately saw what was wrong. A loud cursing followed as usual: "Damn those software developers. I've told them hundreds of times what to do, but they don't get it. The water here is boiling so their shit simply woun't work. Damn you m**********ers in your nice and shiny labs. Damn you Octan for paying these a*****s more than paying me, ah f**k all of this" The cursing continued for a while with H3 being unaware that everthing Octan employees did, got recorded of course, even out here! Henry then decided to do, what he usually did in situations like this: He took his hammer and slammed it into the pumps control unit as hard as possible. A loud boom ecchoed through the canyon, but at least the pump was doing it's job again. H3 was relieved and made sure to get out of this place and back to the base as fast as possible. He did not want to get hit by one of those hot vents! What he had not thought about was that Octan's security officers had told him several times to be very silent at the pumps as M.A.N.T.I.S spies were said to be all over the planet. And so, attracted by the noise, an unmanned M.A.N.T.I.S drone had found it's way to this secret location ...

Mrs Smith is going over the results from the Awesomnium crystals found and gathered from E03 The crystals have since been hooked up to a power generator to be able to see what can be done from this power source. Then on the comlink “Mrs Smith are you there?” “that sounds like Dr. Long? Great now what did those boys get up to?” I need you to load up you equipment for some water collection on F02, Mr. Smith and Guy have seemed to have found a catacomb with water and have no way of extracting it.” “No Problem, Dr. Long, I thought something had gone wrong or the boys had gotten into trouble. I will get right on it. Some time passes Alright I need these sample containers and this tanker loaded onto F429 and I will be leaving for F02. BACK ON F02 “JS, you have to come see this!” “Alright so nothing to blow up?!?! bummer, ok one sec.” “the water seems prestine, I sent Dr. Long a pre-brief, she will be getting a hold of my wife.” INCOMING TRANSMISSION: “Mr.Smith, Guy, Mrs. Smith is coming to you and will be bringing supplies for you to collect samples then I need Guy back here on the O.C.S. Location: F02 Lesser Drigo Tags: Science, Octan, Civil, Vehicle, Ground Vehicle // PERSONAL DIARY // After last week's vehicle debacle I contacted one of our best engineers to help me procure a more suitable choice. Big Z is one of the finest engineers anywhere and he was very happy to help me out. I was going to be observing wildlife on Lesser Drigo and wanted something that would allow me to do so without scaring it off. I gave Big Z the general idea of what I'd be doing and where and he said no problem. When we arrived in the hangar bay to load all of my science equipment and supplies I was ... surprised. "Subtle" was all ED-208 said. "This will certainly help us get around easily!" I cheerfully suggested. ED-208 stopped his inspection of our ride to suggest it would be for the best if he drove this time. I happily noted that it would be the most logical solution since I would need to focus on observing. I wasn't sure what to name our new ride, ED-208 suggested the OCS Overcompensating, but I told him that made no sense since it was a land vehicle and not a ship. I thought I heard him mumble "And I'm the robot?" but that wouldn't make sense since he IS a robot. I finally suggested we call it the Long Range Explorer, I doubt anyone will realize why I named it that! Dr. Long had been rather disappointed in my efforts last week to collect samples for the geology folks. I guess picking up random rocks isn't what they had hoped for. So this week I was going to be bringing along a drill to collect some core samples. She said that we needed to establish how the planet had formed to better grasp where the water pockets were. I feel like she was in an unusually bad mood, so I wanted to be extra diligent this week to make her happy. For my own scientific pursuits I had 2 biocontainment units with lichen. One would be used as the control while the other would be exposed to Lesser Drigo's atmosphere and insect life to observe the interaction. It would be very exciting if I could present my findings to Dr. Long and hopefully earn back some of the trust she had placed in me after my failings last week. Maybe I could find a new scorpion species, I know she is very interested in them! I was glad that Dr. Long still cared enough about me to allow ED-208 to continue to stay with me. He, well I guess being a robot there is no gender but since it had a male voice I thought of it as "him", made things less lonely. Plus I felt better having someone around to keep an eye out and protect me. At times I become lost in thought and can fail to see danger. For instance last week before heading to Lesser Drigo I'd been on Jurin II and nearly walked off the edge of a landing platform, but one of the engineers yelled at me at the last second. Fortunately Dr. Long wasn't there at the time and she even let me fetch John Hannibal's ship which was quite an honor! I think it was her subtle way of getting me noticed by another Exec since she knows how capable I am. I sure hope my hectic schedule slows down a bit soon so I can get back to my drone work. ED-208 would likely be a great assistant with that too. With my pal ED-208 by my side, we can do some really great stuff for Octan. And we can make Dr. Long really proud of us. Location: Lesser Drigo, F02 Tags: Vehicle, Piracy Job: Driver Start Log: For once I had two missions in a row on the same planet, though this time I got to use the MW-4 Mech to do some underwater pilfering. The MTD's that Double D had snuck into Octan's water purification plant had given us the location of several other Octan water filtering devices. It was an easy matter to access some of the shallower locations, and then use my mech's powerful arm to grab some Octan machinery. I'm sure our scientists will enjoy tinkering with it, and when they're done, MANTIS will have a pre built water purifying system. The MW-4 mech features moving legs, a working claw and missile launcher. It was fun using a bunch of assorted parts in 4 different blues for the landscape. C&C welcome

Location: F02 Lesser Drigo Tags: Science, Octan, Civil, Vehicle, Ground Vehicle // PERSONAL DIARY // I filed my report about the data I had collected and requested to return to the Axle to personally debrief with Dr. Long. But she said that I was needed on neighboring Lesser Drigo. She felt like we needed a scientific presence after most of the first hand reports of Jurin II from Octan Corp personnel amounted to how warm the water was and how smooth the sand was. I, of course, was honored to be selected. I requested a GMB-02 mobile lab, but she said there were none available. I then suggested a GMM-04 mech suit, but again there were none. She assured me that a suitable vehicle would be located for my use. I knew with the importance of my mission she'd find the proper conveyance. It was a surprise to find myself driving an Octan off-road race truck. At first I thought there was some mistake, but the supplymaster who gave it to me assured me it wasn't. I then realized what was happening: Dr. Long was crafty... she was testing me! Wanted to try and throw me a curveball to see how I would handle it. Clearly she wanted to make sure I was able to be trusted and that I wouldn't fall apart at a slight hiccup. Brilliant. Admittedly the truck had a lot of power, but being the skilled driver I am, it didn't bother me at all. It did worry me that Mantis had been spotted with a fair bit of recent activity on Lesser Drigo. Dr. Long said that it would be a perfect chance for the new Executive Defender Series 208 robot (commonly called ED-208) to be field tested. The ED-208 is highly reliable and can easily identify threats. According to the message from Dr. Long. I actually thought at first she was sending me a protection rabbit because her message was a bit garbled, which seemed ridiculous. I mean, what would a rabbit even be able to do... I found it somewhat difficult to find any fauna, this might have been due to the fact that my vehicle made a loud BBRRRRRRRAAAAAAAPPPP noise from its exhaust that could be heard for a mile. Not that I would have been able to do much with them anyway since there was virtually no room in the race truck. I was able to find some plants though. And I did have my camera with me. I asked ED-208 if he felt like what we were doing was science and he said "I'd buy that for 3 credits!" I think that meant yes. I also grabbed a few rocks for our geologists on the Axle to look at. I looked for any cool rocks that I could give to Dr. Long for her desk, but all I could find was ugly brown ones. ED-208 asked me why I was looking for "pretty rocks for the stern woman", clearly the AI still has a ways to go! Extra truck photos:

Note: I did not finish my original intended project for this week, but I did finish this, which was actually the relevant-to-this-week-story part anyways. Earlier I received a very promising geological sample obtained by one of our up and coming pilots on E02. I believe it is, in-fact, Mithril. Its appearance on E02 is highly irregular, as our scans suggest that the planet could not possibly have produced it naturally. This, in addition to findings from the Axle's Alien Artifact retrieval squad (called in by explorer Lu caslaug-Hing) on E02, leads me to believe that Freegate, the only location in the Andromeda Gates network known to possess Mithril deposits, may, at some distant time in the past, have been mined for its resources by non-human sentients. Further research on my theory may be conducted should I get a chance to visit Freegate. Now, onto less important matters. One of our exploration teams has procured a specimen of the local F02 fauna for me.... "Oh you have got to be kidding me." "Dr. Long signing off. I may need to visit another planet for a while to escape the boiling incompetence I am forced to endure."// _______________________________________ Ok, this was the first time I've ever attempted vertical rockwork like that! I was so inspired by Soccerkid's beautiful work that I felt compelled to try that for myself. Unfortunately I don't have many parts in the right colours! What you see in this build is most of my available dark tan, and even some of my unavailable dark tan. (don't tell my model-keeping brother... oh well... he already knows. ) and ALL of my nougat... to the point that I mixed with that earthy orange colour. I think it turned out pretty well, all things considered. I also bought a set specifically for the olive green. You are looking at literally my entire collection of olive green. Location: F02, Lesser Drigo Tags: Military, land vehicle, structure Having escaped from the MANTIS claw on Jurin II Big Z went back to the Axle. Aboard the Axle he heard reports of some spying activity on Lesser Drigo. Drones stolen, strange reporters and an underwater mission sabotaged... didn't all sound okay. Nevertheless the Octan management decided Z should go to Lesser Drigo to investigate how his new water absorbtion drone would work. He wondered if he should mention other people would be more qualified, but remembered what happened to the last person to do that. He knew better and build a sentry gun and brought a squad of Octan agents to protect him on F02. For the best as it turned out... Just my luck...
