I really like the play feature you've got in this set, and of course the presentation is outstanding. Stickers/print designs are gorgeous too!- 16 replies

Really great Aquazone builds! The Aquashark is amazing and of course that dio is excellent! There's got to be a cost effective way to get the "true" hexagon rocks from the catalogue pictures, but your use of slopes in those landscapes works very well.

[MOC] AquaJune a month of Aquazone
mrcp6d replied to the Inventor's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Love the original Aquazone theme! This and Ice Planet 2002 were I think the two themes of my childhood I and my brother had all the sets between us. These MOCs are an excellent slice of nostalgia for me. I'll have to plan a little bit for an AquaJune next year!- 13 replies

[REVIEW] 31132 Viking Ship and the Midgard Serpent
mrcp6d replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thanks for the review MKJoshA! I totally agree with you on the shields, I thought they were a little big when this set was revealed but with the side-by-side they're pretty comical IMO. Lego clearly really wants everything that can be to be brick built in the Creator line and sometimes that hurts the set. Hoping I get this set for Christmas regardless! -
Nice usage of the CMF walnut tile here, and great overall shaping of the mammoth itself! I'll have to get some of those quarter-round tiles in appropriate colors to do that mushroom technique, it's really effective. Great MOC!
-
First thing I thought when that CMF 1x1 was revealed was "micro builds!" It obviously works really well here. NPU with the buckets!
-
The orange is bold, but it works well with the other colors you used! Interesting techniques for the non-orthogonal corners too, I'll have to try that.
-
I really like the wagon covering you achived here!

[MOC] Dawnward castle and the earth dragon
mrcp6d replied to the Inventor's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Great camera angle/composition choice for a great microscale castle! I really like the use of the Aquazone cones for the tower roofs, don't see that part used very often. And the chopsticks for the dragon's head are rather inspired too.- 5 replies

Lovely build SK! I'm amazed you got all the detailing into 2 full buildings with interiors, plus the canal on a 32x32 footprint! The sewer section is an awesome detail, as is that bed with the golden frame.
-
Really cool little cottage here Kai. The SNOT and tiles ends of the house was a cool way to get the half-timber detailing done in ~1 stud width, and the dark red decking for the base / bridge is great. Is the bridge connected to itself at all or are the segments simply resting on other elements?
-
Awesome work on this!
-
This was a great castle! You packed a bunch of interior details into such a small footprint. As for the slopes on the battlements, I have always thought they should be sloped outwards so as to direct precipitation off/out of the tower rather than having it flow into your guards' boots!
-
Great wall section. I really like all the different geometric shapes you've worked into this build

This is a nice build Exetrius! The angles in the wall are really well done, and the lime green / neon green works really nicely as the acidic swamp. I do wonder what some tiles would have done to the inner sections of the walls though. All the studs in those sections are kind of jarring to me. Having 70% of the studs covered by tiles and/or foliage might have cleaned things up some.

I really like the house's walls, all the circular elements are fantastic, especially with how you flipped the studs around on the boat tiles.

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
mrcp6d replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
This is a big deal. Food prices where I'm at aren't quite at the level of a Lego goat sold on BrickLink, but I'm certainly seeing increases. The global economics at the moment have got to be putting a constraint on household discretionary spending. I'm just happy Lego has enough stock of this awesome set for whatever reason it may be. Sure would be cool to see some more affordable battle pack-like offerings though.- 2974 replies

[MOC] Knights' Kingdom II: Border Ambush Redux
mrcp6d replied to LordDan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Nice work with the AFOL'ing of this set LordDan! The staircase is nicely done with the white boarder/railing winding along on either side, and I'm totally going to have to use that samurai helmet torch technique as it's genius.- 8 replies
