Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Introduction and Starting Thread

Oleon had a whole convoy with missing paperwork on a previous MRCA. I didn't get too bent out of shape after seeing a therapist. I am better now. :pir-grin:

Good to hear. I am currently seeking counseling. I hope it will help me to cope with it.

I just happen to have lousy luck when it comes to MCRAs, and I enjoy joke-whinging about being the worst pirate. Heck, I managed to get lost and raid the wrong town during my only success. pirate_satisfied.gif

As spokesperson of the mayor of Bardo, I now know which chicken that will be chosen first for our upcoming exotic food festival. I imagine it will taste best if cooked in it's own fat...

I will abide by whatever the powers that be decide as to the best way to proceed ... and I fear that has already been decided. But I must say that it is frustrating to be left out of this part of the game because, by everyone's best guess as to what happened, I (and many others) actually submitted MRCA orders on time and didn't resubmit after it was initially postponed. Is there a definitive list of what ships are missing from the results? Could we compile it quickly? Could we actually give ourselves a chance to fix this? It doesn't seem that difficult a thing to do. Any aggrieved party resubmit orders today or tomorrow (or some such deadline), and a few more MRCA calculations are run.

Since I have only one ship it would overall be a loss (or saved ship) that I can live with. But considering the amount of people that are convinced they did submit an entry, and have the MRCA as their main strategy I don't find it unreasonable to allow this, in the name of fairness. But I am but a humble trader, trying to make ends meet (Hah, I am with the MCTC, they got my back!), so my say in this matter is only my opinion. For future reference, is it possible to implement a confirmation on the submitted entry? It would make it much easier to troubleshoot.

It is indeed a good idea Capt Wolf ! I assume, seing what I read, that every faction had been touched by the problem. Perhaps resubmitting is a good idea but it means more dice rolls ! So more work to do for the leader team...

If I can help by any means I will have some free time at my disposal, so be available to help.

Btw, thanks Legostone to find the MAESTRO missing ships ! You can add all Tomsche's and my Raenette yet.

Don't get your hopes up too much. On a comparable matter Ska (he plus Scarst are the ones with the dice of power) once said a mere addition of ships would not work, as that would change the number of NPC pirates in every (effected/traveled) zone, meaning that the entire MCRA for all ships would have to be re-rolled. And this was just way too much work.

But since this really effected more than just a few ships, well, lets see what Ska has to say.

What bothers me most about this lost paperwork issue is, that there seems to be no way to prevent this from happening again default_wacko.gif

Hopefully MCRA2 will feature a mechanism to double check whether all paperwork is accounted for.

So it sounds like simply running the missing ships is not possible. In which case, I simply ask that we get the results published as soon as possible so we can move on to the next MRCA.

So, MAESTRO is missing:

Wringe II (Legostone, 2F)

Pride of Elysabethtown (Legostone, 5T)

Green Winds (Legostone, 5F)

Colour of the Wind (MAESTRO, 5F)

Raenette (Faladrin, 2F)

HMS Isandlwana (Tomsche, 0)

Disguised Skiff (Tomsche, 0)

Pierre Volante (Tomsche, 1T)

HMS Terrigan (Tomsche, 1A)

The Sea Sparrow (Tomsche, 1A)

Tigerlilly (Tomsche, 1WR)

Crepe Fruite (Tomsche, 1T)

HMS Green Dragon (Tomsche, 2F)

Fingernail (Tomsche, 1WR)

To add to this, 2 of our ships that went out this MRCA actually went on their supposed run - the Purple Rain (4T2) and Dragons Revenge (5HA), but the second one of these was an escort.

The 5Fs were on a convoy of which 1 ship definetly went, the same for the 5T. It does seem like the entire convoy Double Duty and the Junkyard Fleet of Quinnsville (how ever that convoy is named) are missing though.

Or as suggested already earlier: ships that not participate should get a landbased income (maybe not as much as a real landbased, but still sth)

I have full confidence in leadership finding a solution. If the given solution leads anyone in shortage of cash, reach out to some of your more affluent colleagues for some arrangement. If that is not possible, the Montoya estate is always looking for investments. (And looking on the accounts, there are plenty of people with cash to burn.)

On a different note: I'd like to extend a thank you to those who take their time to comment on the builds here, especially those going the extra mile to give constructive feedback. In the beginning, most builds got loads of comments and constructive criticism, but it seems to me that that has been somewhat lacking lately.

I find that is a shame, as comments and criticism is what helps us improve, and motivates us to continue our storylines in BoBS.

Therefore, I hope some of you will join me in trying to give more (and more elaborate) comments.

Of course, I am aware of the time and effort it takes, but seeing how much activity a few lost dubloons spark, I start to fear the quest for profits have taken over this community... :P

Want to join me in trying to get back that community feel? :)

Do you remember the exact date when you submitted the MRCA forms for those ships?

Were they part of a pre-set convoy? What were the names of the convoys?

The Far Horizon also went into the Eslandola Double Duty convoy (for speed 3 ships). I have no way of going back and determining the exact date now.

Could all members with ships not in the lists from the last MRCA please post the necessary information in this thread (before the 20th)? Thank you pirate_wink.gif

Me too I have full confidence in the leader team !

I already gave some developed comments but I did not found the time to do so last weeks, sorry. I will go ahead and try to make more as I agree with you on the point that it's great to have comments to better our builder skills !
But I am not such a ship expert as you are ! I try my best to better my knowledge on it but I have to admit that you're one of the best positioned to make criticism on vessel craft.
The quest for Dbs is not necessary, you're right ! It's a building game first !

I am ready to join you on much better comments.

Great teaser pic! Still wondering whether it's a watchtower or a ship, but I assume the latter and am looking forward to it!

Yesterday we had our Clubday event at BeLUG, and some of our notorious sailors of the Birck Seas did a workshop ship building there... see them at work HERE

Great job, guys, must have been a great fun event. Kudos to the organizers!

The Jade Piranha definitely looks piranha-ish - like he just omnomnomed those poor pirate souls. Waiting for your entry, MKJoshA!

And Bregir - always the scientific Corrie... but beware of NaOH, might cause chemical burns default_laugh2.gif
