Lego certainly uses desirable characters to sell sets, but we're calling the hutt droid set of all things a minifigure pack? Something like Peridea I could maybe see, but no, I think if you look at a $50, 415 piece set and think the only value is a minifigure and small molded animal, I think there's an element of projection going on. Disliking the build doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

And to that point, if you think the only value in lego sets are the minifigures and that it's basically just tiny black series with pieces thrown in... why not just buy black series?

To be fair it's a lot more expensive to build a black series collection than a minifigure collection, so some might choose minifigures instead. Army building especially, is very expensive with black series compared to Lego. You can can get 4 figures for $20 in Lego, cheaper than one black series figure.

Good news is all these Mando and Grogu figures I’ve got 2 kids who one is getting in to Lego and SW and the other one day might so a lot of the smaller cheaper sets I will keep for them when they are older.

Saving them for the foundlings? This is the way.

I agree that a reveal, or at least leak, should be any day now, especially since lego's already revealed at least one of their august TMAG sets with the Hutt Sentry Droid.

Boba and Sandcrawler I reckon will be the only sets revealed on July 1st. AT AT will probably get a reveal shortly after the movie’s release.

And then there’s the question if 75450 actually exists or was cancelled. There’s a chance it’s a Lego exclusive.

yes my foundlings have quite a collection to inherit if they choose to do so. As long as they don’t get tempted to the dark side.

past few years now been saving duplicate figures like the Vaders and Mauls that keep coming left right and centre by the sounds of it from July they’ll be getting a Moff Gideon from the star cruiser as well.

I stated Black Series because it's the one the guy I was responding to compared it to (And because he said the $50 set was a "black series Embo and Wolf pack", which would probably be less than that were hasbro to actually do a black series figure of embo with his wolf), but even on that line, there are plenty of lines of star wars minis.

Blockees (shoutout to Blockees as excellent, well-priced figures that should be some much-needed competition to lego as building toys without being a knockoff of the lego system) come to mind. Legion has even better per-figure prices than lego, though they're static and must be painted. Mission Fleet, of course.

Given how deformed minifigures are, you might as well throw in Doorables, Metalfigs, funko mystery minis, etc.

The point being that there are cheaper options to build star wars armies than lego if that's all you're looking for. Not to mention the main point all of it is on, which is that if you're looking at lego from the perspective of just wanting the minifigures, you're already kind of ignoring the main point and value of 97% of the sets- the builds. It'd be like if I bought a steak dinner at a restaurant, then complained that I spent $30 on the side of fries- yes, it's a component of the purchase, but it's ignoring the main course. You're not really spending $30 on a side of fries, you just don't care about the steak- and if you don't care about the steak, why not just go to a different restaurant where you can order some fries by themselves?

I get that Kyle's had a rough life but that's still, like, one writer's turn on a spider-man series. The literal only run of the comics since 2006 where his life was going well ended with his death a year or two in.

I think it's possible we could even see the AT-AT before that.

Fingers crossed for Shadow Lord or one of the "a lot of" 2027 listed sets being this one, but you never know.

Done. I'm sure I missed something somewhere, but it's everything I could remember.

While I was updating it, I do want to point out that the august wave this year seems to be for $50, 160, 170, and 200 sets. Bit of a gap there, no? But if that 2026/7 list has anything besides vader on the 6 side, I think we can now tell which ones it might be.

Unfortunately, it's probably not the $180 ewok village. This wave already is skewing to some very high price points, I don't see lego dropping four $150+ sets on the same day in the same theme. But on the bright side, it means Yoda probably isn't either- putting aside that there'll be a $130 baby yoda, $40 yoda bust, and $20 baby yoda on the site with a $100 baby yoda still in circulation at the time, that set's allegedly $150.

We can probably rule out "Icons of Star Wars" and "Star Wars Mini-Movie posters" as well, those seem very much like 50th anniversary sets.

This leaves us with four sets. I'm most confident on Luke's X-wing Microfighter- we've never had a year without microfighters since their introduction in 2014. I also think there's a good shot at anakin's delta-7- we've had at least one jedi starfighter a year since 2022, and the wave could use more on the smaller end. At $60 I could see Bounty Hunter Pursuit as well. The final set on the list, the Luke vs Vader: Bespin Duel, has no size/price info so I can't really make a guess there. Maybe it's 75450 for all we know.

My prediction is that the AT-AT, Sandcrawler, Buildable Boba, and UCS Executor are the final sets of the year.

The other rumoured sets are for next year.

Ok so I looked up the toy brands you mentioned, I had never heard of them before.

-Blockees: roughly $15 for one stormtrooper, not cheaper than Lego.

-Legion: 37 miniatures for $100. obviously though this isn't comparable to Lego given you have to paint them and they're static unlike Lego. This also seems to be made for a board game, not a toy.

-Doorables: Cheaper than minifigs, but there is no way to army build these. They also appear to be static. Lets be honest these look more like funko pops for toddlers than a serious substitute for Lego.

None of these options are really a viable substitute for army building minifigures. Some Lego sets you're buying for the build, some for the minifigs. CMF's, Battlepacks, even some small sets are generally more about the figures. Your Steak dinner analogy only works for larger sets, it could easily be flipped for Battlepacks. The other restaurants charge more for less fries so you mind as well just get the Steak.

All of that said, I do generally prefer builds over minifigs. But I don't really like the gatekeeping, where if you have a problem with minifigures people tell you to go buy black series. Nothing really fills the minifigure niche in the same way. People enjoying the minifigure side of Lego aren't any less fans than those who prefer builds.

I guess a lot of this year depends if The Mandalorian is your thing or not.

Maybe LSW just isn’t for me currently, and I think I am willing to accept it.

I think the general idea of going all in on a specific piece of media for an entire year just isn't a wise move, period. When each sequel film released, Lego still accommodated sets on other media during that given year. In 2018, they somehow balanced follow-up sets for the Last Jedi, two waves of Solo sets, and a healthy quantity of sets from the OT and TCW. Of course LSW in 2026 is markedly different to the heyday of Disney's Star Wars film output, but this year has thus far been the strongest example of disregarding the 'something for everyone' approach that LEGO Star Wars has usually been able to provide.

But I feel you. This year has probably entailed my fewest planned LSW purchases for the many years I've been into the theme. I hope that 2027 marks somewhat of a return to form rather than more baffling decisions. At least Marvel, Ninjago, and some Icons stuff fills my plate enough this year, but it's a shame feeling so little excitement for what has been my favourite theme for so many years.

Some good deductions here - I agree the summer lineup is definitely missing some lower price-points, it was the reason I was fairly confident Anakin's Delta-7b would at least come this year if nothing else.  Unfortunately the usual leakers on the Brick Tap Discord are confident that the AT-AT, Sandcrawler, Boba Fett statue, and UCS Executor are all that's left for the year

The Yoda statue, 'Icons of Star Wars', and movie posters sets are definitely for next year. I'm fascinated by what the movie posters will be - buildable minifigure and minibuild vignettes representing each of the Drew Struzan posters maybe?

I forgot this, but an 'Ewok Attack', 'Battle of Hoth: Echo Base', and buildable R2 Smart Play sets were also rumoured at the same time that 2027 list already leaked out. I presume that those will also release next year.

Ah- you've missed some brands and products here, that's why.

You're looking at Classic Class/Champion Class for Blockees, which are more akin to competition for Black Series. Galaxy Class figures are $5-7 each, being more akin to competition for army builders- being a chinese company, the price listed on the site differs from the one in the deal they reached with Walmart for distribution on shelves- but in either case it's either comparable to or better than lego's single best offering. Yes, the (mostly) static forms and the fact that you have to paint Legion figures makes them not exactly the same as lego, but as for them being from a tabletop? So? Lego minifigures are from construction sets. If you just want the minis, it's no different. I don't own any Doorables but I have in fact seen ones where you can buy a specific character set, and while they're deformed, so are lego minifigures.

And Mission Fleet-  though you responded so fast you missed my update with it and some more brands a few minutes after I first wrote the comment, so I get not seeing it. Mission fleet figures are not static. You do not have to paint them. They are LESS deformed than lego minifigures. And they are not blind boxes, or even figures that have to be built. Just like lego, different sets come with different numbers of figures, but they offer 4-packs for about $20, which currently beats lego's battle packs.

(And none of these even takes into account discounts. Lego star wars hits discount much less than pretty much any other SW toy brand aside from maybe Sideshow or other premium statue brands. As the most dramatic example, you can buy pretty much any retro collection figures- again, less deformed than lego minifigures with comparable articulation- for about $4 each at plenty of stores. I found a whole pallet of death troopers a few years back for $3 each and they're STILL at that discount retailer, and at both locations of it I've been to.)

"they're not exactly the same". Correct. The only companies that make figures the exact size, readiness, articulation, and deformation levels as lego for comparable or lower prices are lego knockoffs. (And if you only care about minifigures... well, the knockoff brands do scratch that itch too) But with lego figure's specific combination of miniscule scale, limited detail and articulation, and, of course, super deformation and most of the characters and figures only being availible in sets where 90% of the cost comes from the build, if you're looking at buying star wars figures purely from the perspective of wanting star wars figures, the only thing that would tip the scales to lego is nostalgia for lego.

My steak dinner analogy works for pretty much any star wars set except battlepacks (Or CMFs, but as star wars does not get CMFs, it's irrelevant to this discussion of people who treat lego star wars as a vehicle to obtain action figures from). Even in the case of battle packs, it could fit. I've been to restaurants that offer a 6-ounce steak with two sides. The ratio is different, but the point remains the same- I'm walking into a steakhouse and treating it like a fry restaurant (in some ways the metaphor thins a bit with fries as the specialization, but I've also been to dedicated fry restaurants so I'm sticking with it.). There may be one item on the menu that's focused on sides to complement the meal, but if all you care about are the sides, why not go to a restaurant that specializes in them? Because in a system where there's money to gain from providing a product that specializes in particular tastes, you better believe there's menus out there that cater to sides specifically.

I have nothing against people who focus on minifigures. Nor was I the one to even bring up black series in the first place. But when someone says a $50, 415 piece set is basically a black series two-pack, I think it's fair to point out that at that point they might as well just buy the black series two pack. If you're complaining about a set (again, besides the specific item of battle packs) because you disregard the build (and two other minifigs) alongside those two figures, you're missing the point of lego sets- which- again with the exception of battle packs- are construction toys and not minifigure packs. I have nothing against it, but it'd be like if I was on black series forums complaining that Hasbro focuses too much on action figures and barely makes any vehicles- I'm looking at the wrong menu. It's not some terrible thing to do, but why not just go to the product line that's actually focused on what I'm looking for? (And just like how lego has battle packs, hasbro occasionally produces black series vehicles. It doesn't mean that 97% of the focus isn't still on the figures.)

That's unfortunate, and very strange regarding the microfighter. (Not that I'm personally excited for an X-wing microfighter for myself, but it'd be nice to have.)

Agreed. Most Star Wars posters are too complex to be represented by something like Tales of the Space Age, especially with multiple posters at $50 total with a license tax. I have no idea what this is intended to be and am very interested to see what it is. Maybe it's more dioramas than posters- I could see small dioramas of Tatooine with the twin suns, Hoth with tiny AT-ATs, and Endor with the celebration fireworks looking cool.

Just finished Maul.

Oh brilliant. Brilliant.

Spoiler

The Shuttle should have been a Shadow Lord set

I hope the TIE Avenger shows up on the black market in Season 3 or something (Day #374)

Shuttle has now been officially revealed. It appears to have a similar interior style to 2015 but smaller. I might have to skip this. Still a great set though.

2027 better have more set slots than normal. Because with the current list, inevitable Starfighter wave and more Smart Play possible there doesn’t appear to be much more play-set space for the ANH, TIE Avenger, Ahsoka S2 and maybe Shadow Lord S2 (?)

Edit: just realised that the shuttle is both £139.99 and $139.99 USD. WTF?!

Yeah, pretty funny, all full in on Mando stuff here. I guess the Smart Brick stuff is supposed to be the balance. I feel like they wouldn't have time to shift this mindset so expect something broadly similar next year for that film. In this context last year's clone mania could be seen as them essentially just getting it all out of their system for the next couple years where there won't be space for much of them. Like in early 2015 where they did a bunch of oddball sets they couldn't justify while needing to do sets for every five second segment of the force awakens.

Some of you guys (and I see this a lot online) stress me out when you say "I bought x, x, and y. I can't believe I just did that!" You don't have to buy Legos! Gonna make me write a thesis about how modern society is pushing us to buy more and more such that we will buy even when it seems to cause us anguish.

THAT SAID happy Star Wars day. I'll have to see if I can work some kind of Star Wars thing into my day. I don't have D+ right now.

I mostly-successfully parted out my two Clone Walker Battle Packs (8014) last weekend. It seems like my two sets have different colors for the "Trans-Orange Slope 30 1 x 1 x 2/3" pieces. This Reddit thread (below... it's embedded? Wild. Lmk if that's breaking a rule or something) seems to imply that the color had a change around 2009. Perhaps one of my Battle Packs was bought in 2009 at the beginning of its run and another around 2010 at the end? Thought that was neat, to be rebuilding a set and see a difference like that.

Now, I still have to find the minifigures and one or two pieces (Light Bluish Gray Slope, Curved 4 x 1), but I have most of the builds and the stickers. So, overall that went quite well. My next inventory might have to be AT-TE Walker #7675 (Clone Wars AT-TE from 2008). I've been avoiding it because I'm intimidated by the piece count. But it's also probably my favorite set ever, so having it back in working shape would be amazing.

I don't see the galaxy class figures sold individually, they usually come with some ship or vehicle, correct? In which case it's not really better than Lego in that regard, Also if it's Chinese it's probably low quality. The reason I mentioned the fact that they're from a tabletop is that they likely wouldn't hold up as well for play compared to Lego.

-Mission fleet: don't sell army buildable figures. For getting named characters I'd agree it's probably cheaper.

Lego Star Wars goes on discount literally all the time. 95% of sets will go on sale at least 20% off in their shelf life, not including d2c. I never pay full price for sets.

It sounds like you're just not really a fan of the minifigure design. There's a special charm minifigures have, that low quality action figures don't. A big one is customization, as a kid I loved being able to switch parts around and make my own characters.

Again, I don't think action figures comparable to the cost of Lego minifigures are as good.

There is no black series with Embo and his dog. I do think buying a $50 set just for two figs is stupid though.

As a kid, Minifigures were a big draw to me in choosing sets. Sure the builds are cool but eventually most of them would get destroyed and end up in the parts bin, whereas I still would have the minifigs to play with.

Do you really think Lego would be what it is without the Minifigure?

Shuttle has now been officially revealed. It appears to have a similar interior style to 2015 but smaller. I might have to skip this. Still a great set though.

2027 better have more set slots than normal. Because with the current list, inevitable Starfighter wave and more Smart Play possible there doesn’t appear to be much more play-set space for the ANH, TIE Avenger, Ahsoka S2 and maybe Shadow Lord S2 (?)

Edit: just realised that the shuttle is both £139.99 and $139.99 USD. WTF?!

I have the 2015 one so I'm not personally picking it up, but it does look great.

I hope they go all-out, there's a lot to cover. ANH's 50th- also the franchise's 50th-, Starfighter, Ahsoka S2, Shadow Lord, TMAG spoiler sets, and you know the clones will come out of it with at least one battle pack.

It's always funny to me when random sets break the standard conversion rates. No idea why they do that.

I will eat three consecutive Grogu plushies if Starfighter even comes CLOSE to the domination Mando's had over this years' set selection. There are two "dumb", normal retail sets this year that aren't based on the mandoverse. Unless we get a wonderful surprise this august, 2027's already beaten that.

I have absolutely no idea what you found for Blockees in which characters came with a larger ship or vehicle, but no, Galaxy Class figs are sold individually. I just saw them at walmart over the weekend. I don't think blockees makes any star wars vehicles at all. As for the quality, I own some of their other offerings and it's not low-quality at all- the plastic actually feels more like lego than something like mega blocks does.

I'm not a mission fleet aficionado but I've absolutely seen stormtroopers and generic mandalorians. I haven't seen every faction- but lego only makes two factions in their battle packs at this point.

I didn't say they never go on discounts, I said less than other brands. You can regularly find black series, mission fleet, pretty much all that stuff for 50% off.

I have no idea where you're getting this from- you seem to think I'm somehow insulting minifigures, or saying they don't have a place in lego? Is it the word deformation? That's not an insult- with toys, deformed or "super-deformed" is commonly used to mean they're intentionally not accurately replicating the proportions of the real character. Think chibi figures or funko pops. I have nothing against minifigures, nor have I ever implied that. Literally all I am saying is that if someone is buying a $50 set for two figures and referring to it as an action figure two pack, there are better options out there. (Oh, and as for there not being a black series of this specific case, while it's not the point, an Embo black series fig has leaked. We don't know for sure if it comes with the anooba, though.)

There's a short and heavily edited 3-minute clip of TMaG on Disney+ covering the opening AT-AT scene. It looks great IMO, I can see why people have been impressed with the opening 20 minutes.

My excitement for the AT-AT continues to increase. As much as the higher piece count compared to the 2020 one could just be attributed towards a beefier build (particularly as the prototype AT-AT is bigger in-universe than the regular one), I can definitely see an INT-4 Escape Craft also being included that can be docked within the cargo bay.

Hopefully the set omits Grogu just to give a sizeable complement of Remnant Imperials for Mando to fight. Better yet it would be awesome to get a specialised mould of Grogu perched on Mando's jetpack but that's far too specialised and unnecessary to ever happen. The Imperial Warlord, an AT-AT Driver, Commander, two Snowtroopers, and Mando would be my preferred minifigure lineup but expecting 6 minifigures in a large set is unfortunately a lot to ask for.

@Renny The Spaceman My gut feeling is we'll get something closer to a 'typical' wave of 5-7 tie-in sets for Starfighter, probably the former. It's a new era, new characters, and probably a new design language for Star Wars, and I can imagine Lego's risk appetite for that being fairly small.

True, true. My thought was just I guess that there's so few regular sets outside of the film ones to begin with. The January wave was a small handful of tiny sets and everything else has been different gimmick lines. I imagine that 2027 wouldn't have room for much more beyond what we know

Jazwares just revealed the Hex from their Micro Galaxy Squadron line which includes Maul and Rook. It’s the ship Maul uses in the show that’s essentially a stubbier Kom’rk.

This would have been a PERFECT Lego set to tie-in with the show. Just one set! Amidst the ocean of 18+, buildables, and Mando content, was it truly impossible to base a single set on this show? Alas, maybe we’ll get something next year but I won’t hold my breath.

Don’t get me wrong, some of the Mando stuff is good enough, but I would have preferred a new and colourful ship design along with characters from the show rather than more Mando repeats.

I kind of wish the Lambda shuttle wasn't Mandalorian themed now and instead Maul.

Its a shame Maul came out right before the movie otherwise I do think Lego would have given it sets sooner.

There's a lot of misunderstandings going around with the sentry droid, I think:

1. The sentry droid is not a mech. I don't really understand where people are getting that one from- it's not the first big droid we've seen in star wars. There's a shot implying Grogu can get into the wiring like Ant-Man sneaks into Iron Man's suit, so maybe in the movie he's able to control it somehow (like jedi have controlled droids before), but it's stated in the name of the set that it's a sentry droid. It's an autonomous robotic intelligence, not a piloted vehicle.

2. The color scheme does appear to be accurate. We've only seen it in very drab lighting so far, but even in those shots you can make out a lot of details present on the mech. Not just the bandolier or the third arm, but specific patches of dark green and dark red. (Not to mention that were this grey, everyone would be complaining about another big grey star wars set.)

Oh shoot, I knew it felt kinda wrong writing it this way. I even referred to the official name of the set. Not gonna lie, this is kinda embarrassing. :enough:

I guess, all I saw was a larger Boba Fett Mech and instantly got reminded that I don't need those for Star Wars. But you are right, of course... By definition, this is no Mech at all. Just not something of interest to me, I'm more of a classic Walker kinda guy. And yeah... Lego teases this play function with Grogu at the back of the box. In any case, thanks for reminding me of the clear difference between an actual Mech and a Sentry Droid.

I'm looking forward to see for myself in a few weeks time. In the trailer, those colours look a lot more muted, whereas in the set it's very vibrant. That's partially due to being Lego bricks, but it looks like a big creative freedom right now. Like a bigger alternation than, say, making the Bad Batch Shuttle sand blue instead of light blueish gray.

Yep, as sad as that sounds, what would be an disappointingly one-note wave even further limited by high three digits price points and all, this is my prediction as well.

You mean the 1:1 price conversion, right? Otherwise hardly surprising anymore. As ~15+ cent per piece is the new normal for Lego Star Wars flagship sets.

It seemed like you were implying every toy brand/action figure is better than the minifigure.

I think this also begs the question, how much are minifigs worth to you/anyone in a set? Someone may see the sentry droid and 75% of their reason for buying is the minifigs, and 25% is for the build/parts.

The more I think about 2027 the more I do contemplate what it will look like and for me it feels bleak.

on the one hand they treat it as 50 years of SW and do sets from all eras and everyone gets a bit disappointed because we don’t all quite get what we want. Also in that same breath Lego shift to the adult market will look at 50 years and maybe target the AFOL market even more and have more sets specifically aimed and marketed as 50th anniversary purely but it’s just more buildable figures etc. we already know we are getting movie posters. how many is unknown I think but I guess they’ll start off with the OT.

Then my other thought is that they might just treat it as a 50th year of ANH and do a whole wave focused on that but then my thoughts go to well what would they actually release for ANH? ATM we’ve got a cantina, landspeeder, falcon, x wing, vaders tie, all locked behind smart sets if Lego are serious about smart sets I can’t imagine them releasing normal sets of the above all the time the smart sets are on the shelves. So then you look wider and think well maybe they’ll do a Sandcrawler but then again there will be the Mando one on shelves so that’s unlikely. No ISD as one is retiring this year. Realistically the only thing they might do from ANH that hasn’t got another set anywhere else is a TIE or Y wing.

Just makes me feel like next year won’t be as special as you all want it to he. We’ve also got a film and Asoka series 2 coming which again combined with the current rumoured sets reduces the chances of sets you think we might get even more. Even going down the classic OT set route there won’t be much I think it’ll genuinely be the ewok village and the bespin dual. Everything seems like it’s either locked behind smart sets or has already been released from a different media or sitting on the shelf’s already or recently retired.

my god I’m very pessimistic apologies for the long lost post especially at 5am UK time. I just can’t see 2027 being the year you are all thinking it’ll be. What play sets we do get I hope Lego give us figures we desperately need (Dookus, Greivous, any form of battle droid that isn’t a B1/2/X) mean the list of figures needed can be debated until the cows come home but at least with the bounty hunter pursuit that’s one figure ticked off the list

maybe Lego won’t give us proper anniversary sets like you all hope and pray for but maybe they go down the HP route this year an give us force ghost figures with sets, the HP ghosts look so good these days I’m shocked that SW hasn’t had any.

If you look at it purely from the perspective of how many sets this year are Mando, sure. But you've gotta consider that A: while TMAG is new, The Mandalorian is an established property lego has confident sales figures for, and B: only half the sets are for the movie- the rest are of the show.

This entire time I thought that was an Aka'jor, but you're right, it's a new craft. Always great to see more mandalorian style ships.

S2 is next year. With any luck, there just wasn't room in the line between the smart rollout and TMAG tie-ins. (I mean hey, with any luck there still is a set for it coming this year, you never know.)

Yeah, I don't know why we needed so many mando sets from the show alongside the movie ones- not that I'm complaining about that sandcrawler.

Yup- the show focused on Darth Maul and Mandalorians, two of the most marketable groups lego has. Maybe it needed clone troopers to tip the scales...

Hey, no problem. Simple mistake.

Yup- it's just a big droid.

They are more muted, but the issue is lego has no "extremely muted green" or "extremely muted maroon". The closest colors in lego's aresenal to the ones on that droid are dark green and maroon. (And in either case, would a big grey droid have been better? I feel like people complain about all SW sets being grey on a regular basis.)

Was it worth it? I'm increasingly tempted by those mandos, and those nice dark red curved slopes, but $23 is just such a hefty price for a battle pack with that little content.

For whatever reason blokees doesn't seem to have SW on their website, but I assure you they exist. I've seen them in person at walmart. (And honestly if you're looking to get into blokees don't buy them from the website. The big chain retailers have much better prices on them with whatever deals they've got worked out. You might not be able to get the more niche brands like Miku, but the marvel/star wars/transformers are all at retailers.)

If you can afford it and you really like the figures, it's reasonable for any set, my point is simply that if you're disregarding the set's build entirely, I don't think you can really complain about the value.

Not every, but yes. Dedicated action figure brands tend to produce better action figures than lego, because lego isn't an action figure manufacturer. It's a construction toy manufacturer, so it's minis correspondingly are primarily focused on fitting that construction system rather than being particularly affordable, articulated, or accurate. It's not a diss on the minifigure. It's a different item with a different focus.

I don't think it's something I could put into percentages- obviously it would vary for each set- but again I have nothing against minifigures, my point is rather that minifigures serve the sets, not the other way around. I mean, there's even figures I would buy mid-range sets specifically for, it's just that if, say, there was a $50 chariot assault tank with Mara Jade, I wouldn't say it's a $50 Mara Jade action figure, because, well it's not. Me choosing to buy it for a small component of the set doesn't mean that that's what it actually is.

Maul finale was excellent, though heartbreaking. If lego doesn't produce sets for it, they're fools.

Spoiler

My Lady Kast :cry3::cry3::cry3:. Knew it was coming the second she said "I'll scout ahead." But we didn't see a body. She's not dead. I do not believe it! I will not!

Also sad to see the deaths of the final, loyal Blackout Mandos, though they all went out in glory giving their Lady, their people's leader, and their companions more time. While not a mandalorian, Icarus's demise was similarly honorable.

The plot of the final episodes was good. We knew generally what was going to happen, but the pieces fell into place in a satisfying way and there were interesting if tragic twists along the way. I did not think Spydroid would die, nor did I expect Two-Boots to live- they even put him in a situation where he's about to sacrifice himself, but he somehow survives the E-web explosion.

Devon's acceptance of her anger was masterfully done, and I'll give a final round of appreciation to her voice actress, who continues doing incredible work selling the character. I appreciate that she's actually going with maul rather than disney roaching out. With any luck, season 2 will end with her fully becoming his apprentice and getting the Talon tattoos- though hopefully alongside a more respectable outfit. And of course we can't mention voice acting without mentioning Sam Witwer, who continues to prove himself quite possibly the best actor in the entire franchise.

Lawson's story could have ended well here, but I don't think he's dead. Unlike Rook, who while I will not permit myself to believe her dead may be influenced by copium, I'd be fine with Lawson having died here... but I don't think he did. It's left deliberately vague, with him running into the mist without dropping to his knees or dying. I'm fairly confident Rilee and Two-Boots's story in S2- and the reason they'll stick with Devon and Maul- is it'll turn out the elder Lawson is now in imperial prison- perhaps alongside the Lady Kast, though I'd expect her resourceful enough to make it back to maul without needing an extract.

Shoutouts to the two inquisitor bros- Marrok and The Crow conducted themselves admirably and were our first inquisitors since Rebels S1 to be truly formidable foes. 2v3ing Maul, Devon, and a Jedi Master was an impressive feat.

And of course Vader himself, who I was pleased to see got an entire episode as the antagonist. He just demolishes them. He's a horror movie villain. That bit where Maul and Daki are talking and he just GRABS HIM THROUGH A WALL AND PROCEEDS TO WALK THROUGH was incredible.

That’s the joke :laugh_hard:

As for the M&G and Starfighter discussion: M&G is in a special position since it’s the first SW movie in almost 7 years, the first movie in the streaming era, and a spin-off / sequel to a show, which is also a first. Starfighter will be a more “normal” movie in comparison and likely not get more than the standard 5-7 sets. It also won’t have a specific built-in fan base (beyond the larger SW fan base I mean), unless you count Ryan Gosling fans :snicker:

The show sets this year weren’t really necessary, but they’re all among the best of the year I’d say  As much as I want MSL sets, I wouldn’t want to sacrifice any of the Mando sets for them. Fingers crossed for next year!

Agreed on the Starfighter speculation, I think we'll get a decently big wave for it but there's zero shot it's going to monopolize the year like Mando did for 2026. I mean, we already know that it pretty much certainly won't since we have a pretty decent list of leaked sets to work off of. I just hope it's more like the 2010s movie waves where it doesn't eat into the other waves of the year as much (not expecting this tbh just hoping).
