2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]

Kinda funny that the Hylian shield piece has now appeared in multiple Castle-adjacent themes, i.e., Creator, LotR, and now Ideas -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
BrickBob Studpants replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I’d love to have more Bonkle costume minifigs, but more as a new CMF archetype rather than a full dedicated CMF series Despite depicting different characters, they would still feel a bit same-y. Not as much as the infamous F1 series of course, but still less varied than other themed series like S14 or S26. -

Don’t get me wrong, I still love the idea of the concept art minifigs, but it’s disappointing to see such a bare-bones minifig selection apart from them. I don’t think we’ve ever had a wave where every set just had the bare minimum I mean, look at it: the two duel sets only have the duelists, the JSF and BP have the absolute lowest-possible minimum, and a $80 hardly could’ve gotten away with fewer than 3 minifigs and an astromech. SW is pretty much always stingy with its minifigs, but this is really stingy, even for this theme -

I’d argue they are sub-par since they’ve usually tried to do something interesting with at least one of the figs. The 2021 TIE Fighter for instance could’ve included just a Stormie and a TIE pilot, but they also included the black protocol droid. Nothing new of course, but still a nice bonus. The 2023 TIE Bomber came with Rae Sloane, the 2022 Hoth AT-ST had a snow-covered Chewy variant and an unseen AT-ST driver variant. This on the other hand is the most basic minifig selection imaginable. No interesting rare side characters, not even any recycled minifigs from larger sets that most people usually see as a win They easily could’ve added Dooku in the JSF, ROTS Padmé or a high-ranking separatist in the Mustafar Duel, an Ugnaught or Lando in the Bespin Duel, or Mon Mothma in the Y-Wing. But NOPE -
They’ll all be red after we’re done Disappointing news for sure, but I’m still glad we’re getting another Dune at all. Similar to the upcoming Mûmakil, the creature build itself is the star, not the minifig(s).

Not really. They could easily include an X-Wing pilot we’ve had before. The helmet should prevent it from being a completely generic character, but I’m not gonna get excited over a slight helmet variation Concept Han is still the least interesting one of the bunch, apart from concept Threepio perhaps. Gimme concept Chewy, Luke, or Stormie instead! -

That price hike isn’t great either, but yeah, an entire wave without a single new character or at least a signifcant new variant is pretty much unheard of Well, apart from this year’s Smart Brick wave, but I think everyone’s glad there were no exclusive minifigs included Not even an updated Mon Mothma or something? Booooooring -

This year’s GWP is rumoured to be a microscale Hogwarts! Not what I expected, but having it in yet another scale doesn’t sound bad -
It appears Paul is the only minifig in the Sandworm set. No Stilgar?? Boooooooo! Lisan al-Gaib betrayed us!

Eurghhhh, my manifestation powers are at it again, but this time not in a good way The minifig selection is extremely boring, beside the concept art minifigs, and even those sound rather unexciting too tho. Luke Starkiller must come in a later wave then. Why did I have to be right?? Mustafar Duel: Anakin, Obi-Wan, concept art Han Y-Wing: Leia, 2 pilots, astromech JSF: Anakin, R2 Endor BP: Stormie, Scout Trooper, 2 Rebels Bespin Duel: Vader, Luke, concept art Vader Yeah no, this definitely takes the cake as the most boring SW wave ever. 2021 1HY at least had Dodonna -
Lego One Piece rumors and discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Battlinpanther's topic in LEGO Licensed
Those are all great ideas! I hope the theme continues for as long as the show does, with some waves based on missed scenes from previous seasons sprinkled in Hard to tell. Some fans think a release in August could be possible based on the production schedules of the first 2 seasons, but Netflix work in mysterious ways I doubt they’d release S3 sets several months before the debut of the season. Might be a good opportunity for a wave of S1 & 2 sets! -
Shrek - Rumours & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to BrickBob Studpants's topic in LEGO Licensed
I’m still curious whether the Hagrid-like body we saw in the leak will also be used in the CMF series. A regular minifig would likely look silly with that giant moulded head, but a non-traditional minifig being featured in a CMF series is pretty much unheard of Fingers crossed for some leaks soon! Other autumn CMF series like D&D, Spider-verse, and HP S2 had all long been leaked by that point -

Well that’s a given. Not only did they already design a new helmet for the scrapped 2020 set, the old piece also has been phased out by now. The last time it was used was for Crazy Quilt in 2018 -

Probably no side leg printing and different faceprints (since the LEGO Fortnite designs look a bit different than physical faceprints), but other than that, the designs should be similar! I hope they don’t repeat the mistake they made with the Wicked sets, where some characters only existed as minifigs while others were only available as minidolls. The character roster is small enough to avoid that situation, luckily! -
Lego One Piece rumors and discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Battlinpanther's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nahhhh, I’m good with TLG focussing on the LA show. The character designs are very faithful to the source material, so that most of the minifigs also work well enough to portray the anime versions Beside, how would they go about it? One Piece has been around for almost 30 years, so where to start? Even one set per arc would yield an insane number of sets and yet barely scratch the surface. And some of the character designs would be very hard to translate into minifigs, like Whitebeard, Kuma, Moria, or Big Mom. The LA show is just easier to handle, even though it’s unlikely we’ll ever get far enough to introduce the likes of Big Mom I’m just enjoying the ride, however long it may last! -
Lord of the Rings Ongoing Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Momotof's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I built the set last Wednesday and had a great time doing so! The build is surprisingly unrepetitive. Even sections you’d expect to be mirrored provide lots of variation! And the building techniques are very satisfying. The only issue I had was to get it into my main LEGO room. The door to the room can only be opened so much, and I forgot to factor in how far the mountain protrudes. I had to remove some bits to finally be able to cautiously push it inside Oh, and it looks absolutely majestic on a shelf, especially right next to the other LotR sets. It’s so surreal to finally have a LEGO Minas Tirith! If you went back in time to 2014 and told this to people, they would’ve laughed you out of the room -

It’s expensive for sure, but it’s a great set regardless in my opinion I had a blast building it and it looks great on a shelf! Awesome minifigs too! -

Aldar Beedo did get a more accurate remake shortly thereafter. Technically still from the yellow-tone era, but I don’t count him since he’s not yellow, and neither is Gasgano Of course they should get new versions at some point, as they’re both horrifically outdated. -
Sonic the Hedgehog - Rumours and Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nothing new though, as they’ve consistently been introducing new licensed themes in the last couple of years, and it has all worked out nicely I’d say. Well, except for Indy. We hardly knew ye… For 2027, we’ll have DBZ and Hello Kitty, plus perhaps more new themes we don’t know about yet. 2026 saw the introduction of Pokémon, Shrek, and KPDH, all of which will continue into 2027. In 2025, they introduced One Piece and Bluey. In 2024, Zelda, Animal Crossing, Fortnite, Wicked, Wednesday, and Despicable Me 4 all became new themes. 2023 had two new licensed themes beside Sonic, namely Gabby’s Dollhouse and Indy. Well, the latter wasn’t really “new”, but you know what I mean. 2022 saw the introduction of Avatar and Overwatch 2. Well, almost 2020 introduced Mario and Minions. In essence, this is not a new development, and 2024 alone introduced more new licensed themes than 2026 and 2025 combined, for instance Would there be more Sonic sets if not for other themes? We’ll never know for sure, but if sales justified an increase in the yearly output, it’s safe to assume they’d do it. As is, Sonic is a smaller theme in the grand scheme of things, and I’m okay with that. I wouldn’t want to sacrifice any other theme for its sake, honestly. Okay, Gabby’s Dollhouse perhaps Either way, it’s a good theme with consistently well-designed sets, even if it could benefit from more minifig variety! -
Gifts with Purchase now giving Insiders points?

Yes, they’ve recently started to make GWP sets eligible for registration! I was pleasantly surprised to see that. The first set I noticed was the Botanicals picture frame. Not only that, but BrickHeadz and s@h / store exclusives now have the QR codes too The only sets you still can’t register are polybags / paperbags and CMFs. -

Getting a new Zam is also somewhat of a milestone in LEGO history. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think she’s the only licensed minifig from the yellow skintone era that hasn’t been remade since. Granted, there were only a handful of licenses back then (SW, HP, JP3, and Spider-Man), so the list of characters is pretty short anyway, but it’s still quite an achievement! Also, I’m ignoring the generic nameless characters from the Spider-Man and JP3 sets -
Huh. Looks like the upcoming Shenron set won’t be a one-off since DBZ is now rumoured to be a new theme next year!
