I've been Swordie'd on this- I can't improve upon his words. As he says, the venator still works just fine without the open circle, whereas Kylo's helmet becomes a formless, faceless black blob that looks more like a weird microphone or something than a helmet. I'm not saying printing can't exist- things like small details and cockpits are why it should- but a TIE or X-wing without a printed cockpit is still immediately recognizable. The Kylo helmet is not.

Grievous speeder was a weird set, way oversized, overpriced, and includes Mace Windu instead of Ahsoka for some reason. 

I agree that the Kylo details are a bit more essential, but I don't think a Tie fighter looks good at all without a printed windshield either. If you replaced the printed pieces on the helmet with silver pieces it'd still be recognizable albeit not great looking.

So if I was to buy one set out of the Razor Crest, Shuttle or the ATAT (and pick up the figures I’m interested in from the other two sets at some point) which do you all think is the best of the 3? 

Correct me if I’m wrong but your key metrics for making a decision seem to be 1) A unique build that offers the most novelty compared to stuff you’ve built before and 2) A decent minifigure selection. That essentially rules out the AT-AT.

From what you’re saying, IMO it sounds like either the Shuttle or Razor Crest are your best bet. The Shuttle offers more unique figures compared to the Razor Crest and I’m guessing you have Zeb as part of the minifigures you already own from the set too. So I’d lead towards the Shuttle 

The Razor Crest looks like a solid build and it’s one I might pick up myself on deep discount, but IMO the Shuttle as an overall build just seems far sleeker and polished than the Crest.
