I agree with that, my ideal subtheme distribution in a year would be: 1 - Midi scale 1 - Diorama 1 - buildable character 2 - UCS/MBS With the rest of the sets being playsets. You got Midi scale for adults who are into ships/vehicles, Diorama's for adults who like specific scenes, buildable characters for adults who like the characters, and UCS/MBS for the big spenders.

I'd rather Lego remake the Falcon, than get sets based off the worst Star Wars media if I'm being honest.

Shadow Lord yes. Andor and BOBF did receive sets, and the iron was cold when it came to the Acolyte. We haven't had a play scale falcon with OT figures since 2011 so I think it's been a fair amount of time for a remake.

The 2010's had so many great, affordable battle packs. I'd unironically rather have a buildable Jar Jar and would consider buying it. Somehow, despite being into Lego Star Wars since 2009, and having most of the iconic ships, I still don't have a Falcon.

Too unrealistic, there are no buildable characters.

One set a year isn't too bad, but it ties into the overall problem of there being too many subthemes. I think the gingerbread AT-AT is a cool set, the Christmas Bespin duel just sounds unnecessary to me Even as a kid I didn't like to mix licensed themes, not sure who this is for.

I'd rather just get a normal playset, which we don't have enough of anymore. Marvel Falcon sounds lame. The dark falcon was kind of cool but this is too far.

I guess I just don't think it needs to be a set every year kinda thing. Just releasing the AT-AT as a one off set is cooler to me. What EU stories has Santa appeared in? I guess to your point, the sequels and R1 did release around Christmas time.

I think you could make the case for ROTS being on that level. I guess the whole concept is a bit weird to me because Star Wars has nothing to do with Christmas, unless you count the holiday special... Do we really need every popular Star Wars scene/vehicle Christmasified? Personally I'd rather just buy the winter village sets.

I think the term you're looking for is "Reluctant hero". It's a bit similar and a character can be both an anti hero AND a reluctant hero. Indeed, it's "the hero's journey" not "the anti hero's journey"

Also the character alignment charts were created for Dungeons and Dragons, I don't think any serious writers use that in any meaningful way.

I tried reading the first X wing book as a kid and couldn't get into it, I didn't think it was fun to read space battles as opposed to watching them. I wouldn't say most EU novels are bad though, the prequel era has a lot of good ones. I've hardly read anything from the new canon, I really hate the post endor era in canon I think Rey is really just a poorly written hero's journey. I don't think they ever intended or shown her to be morally gray. I think an anti hero is more than just what motivates them, it's their actions. The Punisher for example is an anti hero because he kills people and generally lacks typical heroic qualities, his motivations might be good (getting rid of bad guys, saving people, etc) but he's still an anti hero. An anti hero needs to be somewhat morally gray, at least from my understanding of the term, I could be wrong. I definitely agree about Disney being a bad fit for Star Wars. I would've rather George kept Star Wars and done nothing with it than what we got from Disney

It's probably the best Star Wars book of all time. Matthew Stover has the best prose of all the Star Wars authors. How is Rey an anti-hero? I'm pretty sure she's just a standard hero. You also say there's a requirement "that the main protagonist cannot display questionable morals" but you just listed an anti-hero (Andor) who has questionable morals.

Ewok Hunt: The Movie I think it's fair to say most people who dislike Ewoks want Star Wars to be darker like ESB. The main criticism's I see of Ewoks is that they're cute and appeal to kids, something they don't want Star Wars to be. Thematically I think the ewoks work quite well and are consistent with the themes of the OT; big guy VS little guy/underdogs, which fits the Ewoks as they're quite literally small and unassuming. I haven't played KOTOR so I can't really speak on if he'd fit that story or not. I think opposing factions work better for two packs although it'd still be cool. Yeah I could get behind that. Agreed, JJ nor Rian Johnson really seemed to respect the lore like Zahn or various other EU authors did. If you dislike TCW you might like the CWMMP it's a lot darker.

Yeah I wasn't speaking to the quality of the film, more so my concerns with the potential liberties Nolan would take with a Star Wars movie.

Oppenheimer was based on a true story though, so it's a bit different. My point is he likes to do his own interpretations of fictional stories, like his Batman trilogy isn't always comic accurate. I don't think someone of Nolan's caliber would want to be limited by the restraints of Star Wars and work within the Star Wars canon. That's how we got ridiculous lore breaking things like the Holdo maneuver. I think this comes down to what you think Star Wars is/should be. People who hate ewoks want Star Wars to be dark and mature for adults, something it was never intended to be by George Lucas. If you want to argue it should move beyond Lucas's vision, that's fair. I think it would be better to adhere as close to Lucas's vision of Star Wars as possible. Villeneuve has also made many mature and dark movies, I'm not sure why you're not okay with Nolan but fine with Villeneuve. As directors I'd actually say they're quite similar.

So WHY is other brands copying Lego parts wrong if it's not illegal? I'm trying to understand from a moral standpoint why it's supposedly wrong when Lego clearly isn't suffering in their profits.

Why choose this to be "ethical" about though? LEGO made record profits in 2025, they clearly aren't hurting. Why should I or anyone care about the feelings of a multi billion dollar company?
