That looks really well done! The wide tyres really make it look sporty! How does the drive work? Can you explain the idea behind it?- 17 replies

Maybe on the rear bumper, or the rear bodywork? -
Too bad you were late, this would be an awesome contender for the TC8 competition. I like the unique design, compact functions and the color scheme!

Here's the finished Arocs 10x10 truck... I was hoping I might have luck at the 2045 Mercedes challenge and would be able to build this baby, but so far there's only the digital version... Anyway, the fake motor is driven by the rear most axle and steering is done via servo. I also built a smaller companion SUV, which has the most compact driven and steered independent suspension I ever made: And if thats not enough, it has a driven V4 piston engine in the back (driven by rear motor), openable doors and body. Oh and steering wheel is also connected to the steering servo! The drive system is very simple, a couple of M motors driving 4 gears, giving it a total gear ratio of 1:2...Its a fast little bugger I hope I can afford to build at least the small model, it uses lots of 5L thin connectors with crossholes and medium blue panels which I dont own... -
I highly doubt it, its just not Lego's style...The only technic licensed sets were some droids from 00's and even those were a bit of a flop IMO... I hope we get to see bigger, deeper rims and wheels along with new Remote system. After all PF is now 8 years old and I think its about time to upgrade from simple IR to RC, Bluetooth or such systems. Oh and lets not forget about smooth motor control, not just ON/OFF....

LDD 5, what features do YOU want?
Zerobricks replied to BasOne's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Auto save function which saves you file under a different name with a date, like XYZ_17_03_9_11_2015,XYZ_17_13_9_11_2015, XYZ_17_23_9_11_2015, etc over an adjustable time period. This way we have all versions in order to revert and saves. -

That looks really compact! Can we see the underside? The lines are really well done and smooth! BUT where's the 4x4? Where's suspension? whats with the low ground clearance? I guess its more of a modded, lowered street version Try using smooth fat wheels on it, that should make it roll smoother on flat grounds. -
Increased attachment file size
Zerobricks replied to Zerobricks's topic in Forum Information and Help
I mean I dont wanna upload other people's LDD mocs (the ones I help) on my brickshelf/bricskafe folders and than have some random people telling me I stole other people's work (has happened alredy)... Thats all and an increased file attachment size would allow me to upload more than one LDD file at a time here. -

Zero's workshop

Yeah SO FAR that is... Anyway I just made a 5 gear version and even if it can carry only low torque, it should still be useful for supercars with no motors. -

Here's something I came up in LDD and built from real bricks: The main advantage of this diagonal gearbox is lower number of gears which means it is very efficient. BUT the torque it can transfer is so far rather low because the assembly can slip apart. Also mechanism to switch gears will have to be rather complex in order not to select two gears at once. But the design is expendable up to 5 gears and may be useful for supercar-style cars. -

Looks simple and sturdy! And I actualy like its short wheelbase, it gives it a more offroad-ish look. Only thing I'd change is to get rid of diffs and reinforce the steering axle. -
If some stuff doesnt wanna work in LDD send me a PM Oh, and I am just gonna leave this here:

Wow these are really great! They čppk so organic and...foxy Is that a wolf near the red riding hood?

Really amazing! The shapes and the colors are al,spot on! Seeing it so close to the ground I cant help but wonder if it has suspension? How do the doors work? A video would be nice
