How to outriggers work? Will you add steering? -
I used up all my curved yellow panels and most of my yellow bricks, I do with what I have Thanks! Yeah the mud was very soft, driving on it was even more fun!

Zero's workshop
Zerobricks replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
1. the steering to the rear axle is transmited via the long orange beam assembly, so there is no flexing. 2. 7L gear racks are available, but I used a different steering method, same one as in TC8 crane, it uses 6L links with a central steering pivot point between front and rear axle. 3. The rear axle should work without the second pivot point due to the slack of the frictionless pins. -

They are inspired by Arocs's rear suspension, but gearing, steering, etc are all mine. -
I love the new color combinations (I'm a SUCKER for orange, lime and violet, preferably all together ) The new mudguard-or so panels will be a nice addition. Whats with the yellow 7L axle at the police interceptor's front lights? Also is the load the Mine loader picking up a new part? Looks like an awesome tank. P.S. I bet the Race Kart is made by Grohl

Is 12 axles too much?

I'd say build whatever floats your goat, just dont overcomplicate for the sake of complexion. -

That looks like a good start but some questions/remarks. - Why are you using an old differential? - I suggest you to extend teh anti-roll bar pin (#2 connector) so its a bit more flexible and does its job. - Is this going to be a driven axle? - The axle outputs are only 1 stud long, why not use the small wheel hubs? -

Here's picture of the axles only. You can see how the motor drive 3x 16Z gears with a final 1:3 gear ratio between an 8 and a 24 crown gear. If you look carefully you can see steering linkages between the first and second axle and on the fifth axle. -

Here's a little thing I've been working on in LDD, Arocs 10x10x6: The cabin is stolen from the Arocs set, but the chassis is all my original design. The suspension is on the lowest point in the picture above, with extended springs the truck should be some 1,5 studs higher above ground. Each axle is driven by an M motor on top. With the exception of the rear axle, all axles have shared suspension with 2 springs which allows for very responsive suspension system. Front two and the rear-most axle steer, the orange beams transfer the steering power to the rear. I would really like to build this model IRL, but I am short on 5L suspension arms, in this case model uses 24 of them! I still have to install steering motor and a fake engine, but I think most of the work is done.
