Technic Photography
Zerobricks replied to Werlu Ulcur's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I got myself a greenscreen and some LED lights: This is the picture I got: As you can see, there are lots of shadows left and the green color is hard to remove from a photo.... BUT The whole point of the greenscreen was this, which i think came up very well: So what I learned today greenscreen + LED lights = Awesome for video editing, but not so good for photos Now where to find a white/grey screen such as this.... -
Yes, sure you can do that, it was my original idea, but the conenction will be a bit weaker since you need some connectors between frames and the turntable. And this axle is meant for independent left/right wheel drive since it allows you vehicle to steer much better than if wheels are hard coupled.

I will probably build this model in the second half of 2016. There are still some parts I need like the tracks and meanwhile I can work on digital version.

WIP Silverfox

I resumed work and found a nice way to make eyes using transparent 1x1 round bricks and 2x2 bricks with rounded bottom for pupils. How they look in normal light: Too bad there are no orange tr. spheres, they would be the best for this animal IMO... So guys which color would be the best? Blue or green? -

Oshkosh 10x10 PLS
Zerobricks replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thats such an epic idea, now i really NEED to borrow a cat from someone -
I got this idea yesterday and decided to build it. Its an improvmement of a classical torque tube suspension, but now it uses 2 torque tubes to form two half axles which are connected to each other via a turntable: To keep the half-axles from bending away there's a lower linkage made out of 5L suspension arms and some beams: So what's the difference btween this and classical single torque tube? Lets start with advantages: - No need for links or panhrads to keep the axle in place - Now each axle can have an independent drive, which cancel each other's torque therebye elimenating torque flex - Or you can use one ball joint for drive an dother for steering - Can carry much more torque And there are also some disadvantages: - Less flexible, maximum angle this setup can bend to is some 30 degrees - Steering is a bit more complicated, since the axles pivot in the center, you need some ball joints and links - Takes more space But you can even expand the concept to use three torque tubes. Now the side ones can carry power while the center one supports the steering system: This is just a concept for now, but I might try it in a realy model just to see how well it will work. What do you guys think? If possible try to build one your own and give me some feedback.

LDD 4.3.9 Update Released
Zerobricks replied to legolijntje's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
If you have multiple pieces on the same axle you want to rotate than LDD tends to get confused. Remove all but one supporting element and th axle you want to rotate, rotate it and than readd elements. I will now take a look at your file. EDIT I looked at your file and some of the pins are at odd angles... I would make sure you dont have any missaligned or missrotated parts. Any small mistake here can cause the whole model not to come together. Just in case I would remove all the pins at weird non 90-degree angles and readd them. EDIT2. All your 3L pins are 1,57 degree offset. I suppose you copy pasted a 'bad' one... -
LDD 4.3.9 Update Released
Zerobricks replied to legolijntje's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
@JGV thats why I made several templates with correct colors for the L, Servo, wheel hubs, suspension arms, and other parts I use a lot. -
Now that we got so many new parts, I would still like to see the following parts added: - Pneumatic pumps, valve, airtank and all the cylinders. Tubing IMO is not so important - New wheels for the upcomming 42054 tractor - Power puller wheels - PF switch and lights - RC motors and unit - Make al the tubes flexible
