  1. One of the best competitions and VERY competitive. Again I ended in the 4th place, could have used an Sbrick for my Silverfox but oh well. I guess this means I still have room to improve Congratulations to all contestans, you are all winners for me. Also a big thanks for all the voters and Jim for being awesome.
  2. I see nothing bad worth complaining about! The lighting is evem soft and the colors stand out very well and lively. As soon as I get a job, I will invest into some LED reflectors, diffusers and some canvases.
  3. For that kind of people, the only solution is to build a massive motorized dozer, or a 8x8 truck and let it loose on their city/diorama, whatever. That will make the Godzilla technic model visible very well And yes, when I check otehr Lego forums besides Eurobricks, most attention is always towards minifigs and sets, especially licensed like star wars. I dont know, people who dont "get" technic seem to only care for superficial looks and not the smart guts bellow.
  4. THAT looks massive! I like the sunset photo, it looks mysterious and kind of romantic.
  5. One model had some 4000 parts. Now i tried a smaller, slightly over 1000 parts model and it seems to work better. BUT the program doesnt recognise PF components and splits them to uknown parts, which is not good since those components thend to havethe highest values. Also there is a lot of difference in prices between different countries.
  6. I gave it a try, but the pice of a model is stuck at around 22 000$ ? Can you make a step-by-step tutorial, what am I doing wring?
  7. As other said, it looks really well designed. The curved roof sure gives it an organic look. Can you show us the belly of the beast and maybe a video of its performance?
  8. Whats the application for? These parts also tend to make a good alternative:
  9. As far as I know you cannot guarantee LDD will genrate instructions as wanted because the files are from another computer and they have to be generated from scratch. So I cannot confirm that.
  10. Glad you like it, but what did you mean by that? Thanks, mate! I can always count on your support. I will try my best to keep you guys updated. Next step is working head and tail.
  11. How do the 12 tooth bewel gears hold up to the torque of the XL motor? Too bad you didnt use XL motors on all axles while you were at it. Does the angled kingpin noticably help? I love the color combo, lime green is awesome!
  12. Nice homage to the original! Lugpol has lots of competitions like this, I should follow your comunity more often, these are really fun. Its interesting how the new'ish parts and panels make this almost 20 year old design look modern and fresh.
  13. Thank you and I am glad to have been able to help you with the LDD part of the builld. The comunity here is really warm and welcoming, its like a second home
  14. Wow, you captured Gru and the minion perfectly! These would be awesome for Lego Ideas!
  15. Well I managed to fox most issues and the fox is now able to walk and much more! Only thing worrying me is the weight, at the moment motor are struggling a bit already, but battery box isnt fully charged, so I think I have some reserve. You can see the prototype walking in the beginning of this video:
  16. I got selected for one of top 100 winners back in 2013 with my MOD of 9398, I actually got more votes than winning model, but I shouldnt have removed wheels
  17. Well done C model indeed. And I see you used a great portion of parts available. Only thing that would make it even better is realistic push-rod suspension, but I guess there were not enough links?
  18. Progress update, I gave it some legs and connected the mini LA's to the motor. I need 2 more of the free sliding type 8 tooth gears. I managed to get to my first buidling problem. The LA's have problems moving the legs, even with all the force they produce. And once a leg is bent a position that is too low, the LA cannot lower the leg back, because there is simply too much weight and the lever is too short. Now there are two ways of fixing this. 1.Using shorter legs, but than I end up with a Basset Hound instead of a fox. 2. Moving the LA's responsible for moving legs further from the ball joint, creating a larger pivot point, but reducing movement range. At the momment the movement range is way too large anyway and going to the end of it makes the model flop like dead. Do you have any suggestions?
  19. Looks fast and prides itself with a really nice body. Can we see its bottom too?
  20. The older differential seems to be more useful for non-standard options. For example in my newest WIP model silverfox I am using a differential to set the phase difference between front and rear leg movement. The differential case itself is fixed and adjustable via a worm gear and the gears inside are always rotating. You can also use it in an automatic gearbox, here's my old example: You can also use it as a 24 tooth clutch gear for a gearbox.
  21. Maybe there are 2 links in the steering, one for actual steering and the other to also steer the fake brake caliper?
  22. Agreed and dont forget the pins of the new hubs also have slack. The old hubs were much better in that regards, more compact and far more stiff. Also I fnd it interesting that the portal hubs have noticabely less slack than the small and steered type which is rather sad, since they all share the same parts, concept.
  23. I dont understand why they put the steering links in front of the suspension... This way you have a reverse ackermann effect and toe out on the wheels because steering links are longer than suspension arms... And no FWD, even though there is plenty of room...
  24. There is no anti-roll bar, the top beam holds the front suepnsion and most of the car's front weight, since the suspension system is identical to the 24 hour race car. Very hard but only 1 stud of travel.
