  1. Is buildability against of this simple solution? I took 5M beam in order to give support in steered positions too.
  2. Answered in Didumos69's Buggy project:
  3. Hi Didumos! To keep the relevant informations in one place, I answer here. I just checked for You: 1) Like a flick missile, not very tight, not very loose. 2) Same - that's why I also have blocking structure below. 3) Super loose. 4) Quite good, You can pull the half pin out without any separation wilingness of the towball. 5) No. (I tried old Binocle ones - don't know if these have been changed during the years.) "The pin with tow ball I'm using disconnects when the front wheels generate too much traction." - Can You explain this in details to understand the phenomenon?
  4. Very good test, too bad You took my sketch design 1:1. That would be my guess, definitely structural reinforcement is needed, sorry for not to explaining that previously. I would test all build by simple shaking, and dropping first. If it holds well, without falling apart, than it is ready for real test. Whatever, it was worthy, lesson learned, for me too - next time I shall provide more detailed ideas. I would increase the wingspan (by 1 more 5x11 panel in each directions), and use liftarms to connect each panel properly together, sandwiched (curved panel - 15L beam - flat panel), or connected from below. Main thing, that try to lock each connections - especially in the middle section - in all X Y Z directions. I am still positive about this project, though be a fail in the end, but definitely interesting to follow.
  5. This is such type of MOC, which I had to look twice to realize it is made of LEGO - great photography compositions! I am very impressed by the look and the functionality (LEGO wise it is good), for me this is also HOF material.
  6. I see now, thanks. In LDD sometimes You need to rebuild assemblies in different sequence - that might help. Background: the constrains which are automatically created, might block the placement of a new part due the system senses it as overconstraining. Bit annoying, but with rebuild in most cases I could solve such issues.
  7. Looks nice (the frame) but a bit busy, and awesome (the whole chassis). What about to build the frame more monochromatic in LBG? One thing what I don't really understand, beside the 9L links look good in the front area, do they actually have structural role? As I see, the red connectors, which to they are connected, can rotate freely, or are the inner axle connections fixed somehow?
  8. I second @J_C 's lines, these were my exact thoughts too immediately. It is a true Technic model.
  9. To answer the question: The window frame turns to black - so easy to see which mode You are in. All the parts are red in this mode, so You need to recolor them, but watch out, if You want to have legal (available) colors, than You need to switch back to LDD mode, and choose there. This will not ruin the parts, which are already added to the scene. Extended allows any color.
  10. Looks great, I was also wondering about rotating the rear stabilizer, to create opposite momentum for balance if the COG is in the front (upper pic). But if it is behind the elevation vector, than it should be like the original (lower picture here, but lazy to rotate the panels back - You get the idea). I am not an aviation expert by any means, but I would like to see, how a Technic construction like this behave. For sure there is a lot testing needed, for sure the technic panels create a lot of turbulence and non predictable forces, but let's see what can be done with existing parts. I am very interested to see some videos. P.S.: prepare further panels with, to increase the wingspan.
  11. What a nice MOC, and presentation. Still, I can not decide what is bigger surprise for me: that such thing actually exists (I just don't see the advantage compared to existing crane platforms), or how well You replicated it.
  12. @Marxpek Yes, You will definitely need a rigid console in the middle, which to you can attach the starter tube. Something like this:
  13. Bionicle theme had a lot of wing or wing-like weapons, they are not in LDD though. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=60935#T=C One thought: my sketch is probably too small in term of wing surface, but I am quite optimistic, that with some test, You can actually make something like this glide. If it happens, I think it can be called: flight! Smells like a challenge, right?
  14. I would like to see where this goes, and like this play, so I put a very simple glider skeleton together - You need to balance it though, it is just a raw quick idea. HERE you can download the LDD file.
  15. It is indeed a great fun and creative projects to do, thanks for sharing! Don't get me wrong, I would sure also enjoy the experiment in person, but as many times stated: throwing, shooting out, dropping a Lego built model is anything but flying. Or I need to revisit my dictionary.
  16. Good to see progress here too (it was very reasonable pause seeing your TC13 entry )! I am also with Kbalage, but if You will find a way to have the cable straight at connector, than it will not hurt for sure.
  17. As I did not much Legoing in the last weeks, I was pleasantly surprised, that LDD is updated! Claas and Porsche tyres, rims, newer Technic parts are available! I guess, many don't read out of this subforum, so I thought it is worth to share the news. Also Stud.io is updated as well, Claas tyre is also there - see below!
  18. To every "angry" colleauges. You need to understand where is this phenomenon coming from, and the answer: it is a reaction for piracy actions which is seen in industry (not only toy industry). Just check alixpre... or any marketplace connected to chinese brands, they are actually advertise with stolen (preliminary or official from original producer) pictures their upcoming "new" models for preorder. EDIT example: the copy of 42070 was advertised on named marketplace with the photos were taken at Nürnberg Toy Fair, just weeks after the fair! This is quite common practice for them, without any consequences - lawsuit is useless, they just close the sewed company (on paper!) and reopen it under different name. Unfortunately this is the world we are living, there is no respect left for properties, one can not trust in good faith. It is very sad, but "No photo, please!" verbal asking was enough couple of years ago to have it respected, nowadays they need bodyguards, and full gadget control to get this simple sentence respected... well, "respected". You can feel how sincere it is. What is happening, is a simple defence mechanism, seeing the more and more agressive piracy and how weaponless the original authors are, it is no wonder. Before any rant, raise the question for yourselves: if You invent, create something what You want to do/produce for living, how would You feel, what would You do once facing the fact: some are advertising Your idea as theirs (even with Your marketing material!!), and sell goods as theirs - without having You in the loop. I am not a huge fan of some actions of TLG, but in this case they (and any other companies, persons in the same shoes) have my full support. I am actually happy to get text descriptions, and the previous "no picture, no text" policy did not happen.
  19. Hi! Maybe the entries for previous contest can give You ideas what to build, how to build: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/147462-tc11-technic-contest-battle-bots-entry-topic/ Some of us have created LDD models too, but there was no NXT powered one, still as inspiration they are useful. Don't forget, to have a good bot is just 50% of the success, the control is the other 50%. You will need to practice a lot! One advice though, if You have question regarding one of the bot, please use private message to contact the creator, instead of bumping these old topics. Thanks!
  20. For the crashing issue: make sure, You have the latest DirectX driver on the computer installed. Next to check EDIT/Preferences - if compatibility mode is in the lowest setting, and You can switch off the High-quality rendering options too, in case. Also please check if your computer meets the minimum hardware requirements for LDD: http://ldd.lego.com/hu-hu/download For the build: I recommend to use groups for the build process, it makes the model much easier to understand and follow. Don't rely on LDD's building instruction maker, it is useless for technic. + Watch out for the colors You use, LBG= Medium stone grey in LDD, not the light stone grey which is used in the file. I hope this helps, great MOC by the way, I really like the cabin shapes!
  21. Never think it is a bad thing to bring feelings on the table. As You see, it has generated a nice discussion, for sure many recognize the same in their own experiences, and also good opportunity to get feedbacks for self-control in case. I have also an opinion about the theme, but my theory is too grandiose to be shared (vanishing in mystical fog... husssh). Actually, I am way to lazy to type. Discussion is good, frustration is bad. Mkey?
  22. Uwe Wabra did appear in official video, but not as a speaker. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaC9iY0zTSc Without going into details: some personalities are great in creative activities, mathematics, focusing on details (characteristically introverted), some are great speakers, motivators, but not interested in details (characteristically extroverted). There is no good or bad, there are strengths and weaknesses considering a certain task, these can be used, improved if one recognizes them and wants to, and different personalities can greatly piece together in a team. These attributions rarely meet in one person - I would say it is more-less schizophrenic than . I assume Uwe is a very introverted person, not interested in publicity, but very committed to his work. OFF: If somebody is interested more in personality types, I leave a link here about Jung's theory in short: http://www.humanmetrics.com/personality/type
  23. +1 Just disassemble, and take photos. This way even the buildability sequence can be set, and in the end You will have proper instructions (like Madoca, and KevinMoo does). I believe this is the most efficient way.
  24. This is the most interactive topic, ever. It is like MOCing a topic about a MOC, a completely new way of building LEGO, maybe the OP just invented something. @moi12 I checked the LDD file, honestly, it is not really clear for me, how some functions should be done (suspension, pneumatics?, etc). Some pictures about the real built MOC would be really appretiated, to be able properly justify it.
