  1. I also like it a lot, EV3 has way more potential as standalone set, than I thought.
  2. So do I. For some reason (maybe projectation my burn-out in other fields of life) this year's sets are just... well, new, but not tempting for me. Let's go out, have a hike in the woods!
  3. But isn't this something we always used to have? At least I can remember so - 2H sets for sure, as soon we have the first valid and useable picture to discuss, these become a separate topic. This makes sense for me, as discussing 4-5 sets in the same topic, leads to total information chaos, and untrackable discussions.
  4. Hmmm, if that knob is for adjusting the rear, than it is pretty lame... for me it makes sense if it is moving simultaneosly with the bucket lifting, and would be also nice feature. Let's wait for video demonstration! Totally agree, and would be even nicer line-up with the 42053 (which is a lot fun to play with).
  5. Some more details of the loader here to seen.
  6. Looks like superstructure rotation (clockwise - counterclockwise).
  7. We are closer, but still we have no black and white picture, what IR receiver does what exactly, and than we also have the contradictory saying and reality with the V2 & M-motor combo. I just don't get it, why is it not revealed by TLG yet, must be super secret...
  8. Yess, pictures! Thanks @Bartybum Forklift = cool.
  9. So, it will have 4 wheel steering, that is good. The back (abdomen / swag belly) should hold the engine and such, also seeing the prelim picture (right bottom corner) - it works as moving counterweight. So by lifting the bucket, it will be lifted as well - makes also sense for active balancing system in real world. I am curious about the mechanics, bucket tilting looks unique (no linkage), but other functions look quite directly operated.
  10. Absolutely agree, 2 topics of very same MOC are confusing, unnecessary, dare to say: annoying. Keep everything in one place, so all the history of a MOC can be seen, where has it started, and what has it become. You can anytime update the very first post, add final pics, description, and a comment: for WIP details see below.
  11. @technic_addict Hard to judge how the friction influence inbetween - but could be a good idea to get a 9398 and test with different receivers, good hint! @kbalage Do You have a spare 9398? Btw, I didn't expected V2 to be so much different. Actually, just comes in my mind: I had 8043 with 2x V2 receivers (came from original sealed box), and worked flawless with 4 M-motors. Unfortunatelly I already sold it, but what the heck than with V2 and M-motors? EDIT: asked photos from current owner of my ex-8043, see below. He also claims no issue with it during the play.
  12. Sure, but f.e. to rotate the control buttons you will need a quite bulky design which slide on both sides, instead of a pinhole / axle hole connection. BUT - if this controller will be super handy, I can easily accept this - assumed for now - handicap.
  13. I guess +/- grey buttons. Red is for STOP, green might be for channel selection (1-2-3-4-...?-1). Might be Bluetooth based too, at least from this angle no IR port visible... honestly, it would be lame not to be up-to-date, and sticking to IR for no good reason. Interesting control though, but I miss the connections to build custom controllers (joystick, whatever) - as it was possible with the old controller.
  14. Keep your expectation low, for comparison: 42056 Porsche - 2704 pcs / 300 € retail 42083 Bugatti - 3599 pcs / 370 € retail 895 parts for 70 € is not a bad deal at all. Conclusion: No IR, no motors. We can be happy, if the exterior design will hold up to the real one + 4WD, and there will be any technical flaw. I am also pretty sure, that the fake engine will be what we see.
  15. I think it is still a bit more complex. In my latest MOC, I used 2 L-motors and 1 Servo-motor with the latest version of IR receiver (ordered directly from LEGO in 2017, 20N7 is written on it). It works without any issue, with the same setup as in 9398. So I am still interested what has been improved, what are the real differences (output voltage, cut off value, etc..) between V1 / V2 / V1_upgraded.
  16. I don't think, that the picture above is photoshopped diecast or real car picture, there is too much details to be removed and added beside blur to get this result: windshield reflections, interieur design, black "gaps" on body... so I am not sure actually. Beside that, the image above is coming from Brickshow.com, who for sure don't need fake hype - imo.
  17. I still don't like the rear, what about simply just flip the panels underneath the rear lights, so the gaps are on the bottom? I do believe it would improve the look.
  18. @Ron1 +1 to above, but I see the limitations of testing all phones, so I would be rather constantly active on forums like this, interact with users who give valuable feedback, even let them Beta test in case. Or just letting know, that You are working on issues. Lifesignals, anything. Yes it is criticism, but only for the sake of making a good product even better , service, availability, communication are also key factors in business.
  19. @Didumos69 The flow goes back and forth, this MOC made me build my last one. Glad we could add to this project here and there, but don't forget: there is no answer, if no questions would be raised, and you managed this well in your WIP topics.
  20. 12 days to go, and the goal is really far - hopeless. There are already better (but still to be improved) and better known competitors on the market. They were just too late to the party, the WiFi in my opinion is worse than Bluetooth, low voltage... already outdated at birth unfortunately, they spent way too much time on development, 3 years is at least 2 generations life-cycle for such products. Seeing the description and the success factor, I think this was a further thought university project, so members are probably dispersed... becoming a dead project / company for now.
  21. If it is so - and seems to be, than I think it is very lame solution. Does not look good, does not add to reality-like appearance, does not add to function. Just trowing parts on for sake of Biggest-part-count-ever title, are we still in Lego Technic theme??
  22. I don't know how You concluded that, there are DBG pieces literally just beside, the color difference (Black vs DBG) is pretty obvious for me. I don't mind your speculation, just don't be disappointed in the end.
