I love the design. Very well done. I wonder what other colors could be used. I may have to try my hand at this. My daughter loves the tower.

Thanks for the review. They definitely improved upon the original, but since I already own the original, I can't justify this set also, unfortunately. It seems to be the trend. But I'm sure there are a lot of first timers out there too that will snatch this up since it is a really lovely building. And the updates make it better for sure.

I enjoy this thread. Bricklinking can be fun at times. But then I think at how much it costs for aftermarket pieces to bricklink some of these sets and I'm incredibly thankful for getting them at MSRP. The sets that I have missed, I will continue to miss them because paying double or triple what they cost brand new is not for me.

I had wanted to build a mech of some sort. I will definitely look at this for inspiration. M:Tron is one of my favorite themes. It's hard for me to decide between M:Tron and Blacktron 2. But seeing this in M:Tron, it is impressive. Now I wonder what something this scale will look like in Blacktron 2 color scheme and design. Maybe that is what I'll look into doing. Keep up the good work.

Very neat. The cockpit/headpiece is well done. very organic feel to it all. Granted I don't get the Blacktron vibe from it otherwise, but I do like the MOC otherwise. (and funny picture of him spilling his drink.)

Interesting build for sure. I did enjoy Ice Planet as a kid also. Someone else in my LUG has a fairly large Ice Planet diorama/MOC set up for shows. I was always more into M:Tron and Blacktron 2, but Ice Planet was my third favorite. I've always wanted to do some sort of scene involving one or all of those factions, kind of like those old advertisements involving the Blacktron 2 frozen. Keep up the great work!

Happy Christmas everyone! Thanks for organizing this event again!

Very nice. I don't love the exterior, but that interior is very fitting. Definitely inspiring to do something of my own in this style. I love the giant clock piece counting down and the One Ring for drawer handles. Very clever. Plus the elves and the toy shelves. I can sense the pandemonium. The problem with these contests is it always makes me step up my game to compete...hehe. Best of luck.

Nice story. And good work. Although could Scarecrow really sneak up behind Batman AND Green Arrow? hehe But let's hope they fix this problem quickly. I also have built my own Sinestro Batman. Great minds think alike.

Interesting build for sure. I will agree, it does have its own feel compared to standard Modulars. But overall should fit in on a street (although the height is a bit lower than expected). But no matter. Surprisingly the sand green/nougat masonry brick work fairly well together, but under normal circumstances I don't think I would build in that style. I do like the awning above the windows, as simple as it is. The bench is a great detail, but I agree, it does feel a bit big compared to typical wooden LEGO benches. But it looks great. Even though it is dismantled already, I think I would have built the stairs a little more hidden considering the layout of the shop. Some random customer could walk up into his apartment...yikes! Keep up the good work otherwise.

So the lava monsters are causing backlash? I'm confused.

Extremely well done. I feel like this has been said multiple times already! I'm always impressed by your collab builds. I don't know if I should be embarrassed, but I hardly remember the Lost World and III...and I haven't seen World yet (and unfortunately, it has been since my childhood that I've last seen Park)... But this is an incredible build. Something very worthwhile to show at a convention. I wish I could come up with something neat like this for some of our local LEGO conventions...

^ I agree. I'd take an A wing over a B wing..but that's just me. This set-up is pretty neat. My only issue is like any display item, you can't see it until you pull it out. Limits the viewing pleasure.
-
These always look so realistic, yet very LEGO-ish at the same time. Very hard combination to pull off. Definitely some neat details to take away from this. I may have to borrow some for builds of my own. Keep up the good work and thanks for the inspiration.

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
TheLegoDr replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'd agree, considering how most of those "classics" are truly classics considering Snow White came out in 1937 and Sleeping Beauty/Cinderella were in the 1950s. Clearly Frozen is on a lot of people's minds as of now. My daughter loved Tangled and I loved Brave, but most people don't talk about them. It's a few of the classics and Frozen these days. We will see what happens for sure.- 4,155 replies

The problem I have with the back, is the way my shelves are in my LEGO room. They are deep enough to fit a standard modular, but something like this would have to be with the long side facing out. Now the back could still be up against the corner wall so as to not be seen, and then just leave the one side open all of the time for viewing. I don't know..I will see what happens. -

It is only coming up as Australia for me too. Very odd. I wonder if I need to erase cookies again. -
This is great. Love the play features. I could see kids getting behind this. A lot of fun could be had. However, not to dampen the mood. I do not see this becoming an official set. But it is a great MOC for sure. I had never thought to do something at this scale, but I have always wanted to build a mini Wayne Manor and it makes sense to have a batcave underneath it. So I may have to look at this for inspiration for my own build. But I don't think I could figure out how to do all of those wonderful play features. Keep up the great work! I'd love to see more.

^That tree is incredible! I can't wait to see what others come up with (and figure out what I want to do). I love this raffle. Thanks CopMike!

You can put any set into bricklink to part out to sell. Any current set that is available. It will be higher than MSRP every single time I've tried it. Sometimes, by a lot.
-
Simpsons House also has nougat colored doors. And some Friends sets have white doors. I've used those. These are solid, no windows. Perfect for interior doors.

You do a good job with people shaping, but I can't help but notice all of them have one eye covered with hair. It must be of the fashion. Otherwise, interesting build.

MOC: My futuristic Everyday Vehicles,LDD and real MOCs
TheLegoDr replied to badchriss's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Definitely have potential. I don't know much about sci-fi offerings, but these looks good. Reminds me a bit of Fifth Element. Some clunk and heft to these vehicles. I do like the Police bike, although the rendering is better (but I think that only has to do with the coloring involved). I almost get an even more futuristic Judge Dredd feel from the police bike. Fifth Element meets Judge Dredd...interesting concept. But good ideas all around. The world needs more every day vehicles and not just spaceships all of the time. I hadn't considered doing something more lifelike and mundane, only the fun stuff....we will see if I do anything of my own, but I can certainly be inspired by your builds/ideas. So Thank you. -
Um yes please! I want to build this right now!!! I loved those movies as a kid. And I haven't seen Wall-E. There will always only be one robot that looks like that. Johnny all the way.

Fun. I don't care for the bazinga phrase, but I love that show. Great job on source material though
