  1. I'm only a casual SW fan and all of these figures are looking good to me! I'll definitely pick them up. Great new molds and prints. I like the jetpack and the helmets on the resistance people.
  2. Very well done. Interesting idea for sure. I won't be doing this same scale, but I think I may continue on with my modular scaled HQ, but use some of these techniques. As in making the front doors smaller and whatnot to compensate for the scale. Maybe I'll build ecto-1 scooters they can ride. Might make it easier on a smaller scale.
  3. It has nice figures...that is all that can be said for any Super Hero sets anymore. Maybe it's the scale, but the Batwing definitely doesn't fit how the movie one should be. And this is the first I'm seeing the Batwing. I only know what LEGO tells me since I haven't been following it. I'm a Batman fanboy and I haven't kept up with the hype..I think that says something. Plus, is this Batman print any different? It looks the same as this last year's where we got multiple of the same dark gray suit...boring. WW looks good. Boots on superman, I can go either way. Is that the only difference? And for that price...I don't know. I'll probably skip even more LEGO sets or wait for a sale that will never happen.
  4. ^It does make you wonder if more Super Heroes figures crack, OR more people buy Super Heroes sets and therefore more in the wild appear to crack. I don't know. But all of the figures that have cracked for me were Licensed. Is it because of the factory they are made in? I know it can't all be environment since I live in a similar environment with other LUGmates and they don't have the same problem I do.
  5. In English please Thanks for the information, but I am illiterate when it comes to most computer programs. I'll have to ask my wife if she knows what you just said haha. They look top notch!
  6. What's information if it isn't stretched a bit? Who wants tight information?
  7. Unfortunately you learn something from this..don't let anyone use your account. Don't trust anyone (that's my motto). A few orders of mine were cancelled recently too, but as far as I know I wasn't blacklisted. But nothing changed on my order information, they just cancelled it without alerting me. Very odd.
  8. I've done it before with a Jack Sparrow head, but a yellow sharpie changed the flesh color to yellow quite easily. Be careful when going over print because the black can smear a little. But I was impressed. I've only done it the once. I doubt I will do it again because I prefer licensed flesh tones over yellow for the most part.
  9. Well done. I like the snot work used for the white tiles. I wanted to do something similar for my Weasley Wizarding Wheezes building with purple, but I don't think they make purple 1x1 tiles. But this confirms how well it would look. As far as white, this is one of the few times I have liked a white modular. It doesn't seem overused and the other colors complement it well. How do you make your graphics?
  10. I love this contest every year. I haven't won yet and I don't plan on winning this year, but I do enjoy building Winter Village themed sets. I best get to planning.
  11. I've been wanting to build one for our modular street for shows. I was about to ask about the graphics because that is one thing that is keeping me from doing it. I don't know how to make my own. Neat build overall. I think I'd end up doing it a little differently, which is good. A few different approaches to the same source material. It'll be neat seeing Mort's. And the one in constant flux on the other side looks neat too. Maybe, I'll also do Jimmy Pesto's for good measure. Keep up the good work.
  12. Like many others, I'm not too excited about the reboot, but not because of the cast. I don't really even know who is in it. I don't mind Melissa McCarthy in some of her roles, but she doesn't make me go see movies. But anyway, I just don't care for most reboots. Why not start fresh with something? With that said, maybe the sets will be cool. I'll wait and see how it goes. I always welcome new molds/prints or neat builds. But someone above said they'd hope for original sets alongside this theme...I'm pretty sure that is THE reason we are getting the HQ on such a large scale, because smaller sets wouldn't be as iconic and they could play around with the new movie a bit more on a smaller price range.
  13. You have updated faces for a few characters, why not an updated Chewie? And I'm not too familiar with all of the changes to Threepio either, but there are other versions of him too. Just to give a heads up.
  14. I've had many figures crack. I can't agree with people that say they will never crack under normal circumstances, because they most definitely do crack, even without touching them. I've had a few figures that were cracked IN the box before any human hands touched them. And of course since they are licensed you have to jump through many hoops to get a replacement (if they replace at all, I've been hit/miss with them). Poison Ivy was cracked along the side and arm where the hand is. I had an Admiral Ackbar figure from the most recent A-Wing crack just from standing on a shelf, not even clutched to anything. But the entire torso had a huge slit through it and the leg/hip assembly disintegrated. The other figures from the same set were with it and they were still okay. It really is hit/miss with their quality. And it is unfortunate since minifigures are what is collectible about LEGO. But I guess I don't have to worry about it being valued at anything in the future since most figures will be damaged by then anyway.
  15. Very well done. I like the timber Tudor style. Very effective here. But most of all I like the nougat and dark green combination. I've been meaning to do a modular with those colors. They work really well together and they do not disappoint here. The roof is a neat feature, but I agree on it bothering the purist in me.
  16. In this situation, I like I like the dark tan masonry bricks. On the official I like the sand green groove bricks, but there is something about the different colored masonry bricks to make it stand out (I don't like the sand green masonry bricks for some reason). Maybe I'm an odd fellow, but so far so good. I like the interior also. I have done similar mods to my own. Although my top floor is also a bedroom/bathroom, I have mine oriented slightly different, but similar location. Very interesting. And the kitchen is in the exact same spot, although I have cabinets/sink where your table is. I also altered the front facade a bit by moving things over, but not how you did it. I really need to get pictures of mine up. I built it over a year ago and forgot about it.
  17. After seeing these modified, I am finally contemplating doing one myself. I agree with the substitutions and I will never own an "official" version because of it. But I don't care. The official version is ugly x 10, so I'd rather have something I like to look at vs something that is "needed" for a collection. I have a lot of projects ahead of Market Street, but I think I will dive into it sometime in the future. I like the black for the iron. Although the new round fence piece works too. I would go the way of the Town Hall railing and only use one maybe? I don't know how it would fit though. But it gives it less depth which may help for the scale.
  18. So considerably larger than the official set coming out. Very impressive. You've done some good work so far. You have more tiles on the floor than almost the entire official set! And I rather like the blocky letters, independent of illumination or not. Keep up the good work. I will definitely check back for updates.
  19. As far as I can tell only 2012 you said to spend less I'm hopefully having someone pick me up some of the Christmas sets this weekend. I live 3+ hours from a store and I never get that way with work/family commitments. And shipping always ruins my ordering online because I don't always have 75$ worth of things and I'm not always going to spend that much just to get shipping covered.
  20. I don't recall what happens in either. Both movies blend together for me. So it makes sense to have an amalgam for the HQ. Similar to BTTF ideas set with the three different versions. Catch as many as you can. It looks impressive, but a bit large for my display area (plus cost). I also don't love the wider lt bley areas on the front windows, but I might get used to it. Figures look great. The pink slime through the sidewalk is a neat feature.
  21. I was hoping for Rey without helmet at all. I'd definitely pick her up if she had hair. I guess I'll have to think about it now. Finn's head does look off, but mostly because of the neck connection or angle with the body. The head mold itself looks fine. I'd say shaping these look better than the first round for the most part, although I have no vested interest in the characters yet, so I can't say I want them all. Maybe all of the characters will be boring and suck. Why would I want to play, er., build with them?
  22. I think white could work if you didn't also have white windows. They get lost in the shuffle. Pink has the groove brick now thanks to Minecraft, (also reddish brown and dark red and tan I think), so those could be options in the future as well. That pink could be modified. So far, sand blue has been my favorite, thus why I built one myself last year.
  23. Looks great! I thought about doing this, although I'm sure my scale would have been smaller. Very impressive. I can't imagine the cost for this MOC. I also thought about doing Mjolnir. That'd be a fun little display.
  24. The higher detailed picture definitely paints it in a better light. Although, I still don't love the price until I see the interior. My MOC version at modular scale is definitely smaller than this, so it would be interesting to see how this looks next to others. I do like the pink slime coming up out of the sidewalk, but I don't love the other studs no the sidewalk. I may just finish what I have going since I have the ground floor already done. Stickers is disappointing. Most modulars don't have stickers. I think just Palace Cinema did because of the transparent window they'd have to print on and the marquee. So not ALL sets have stickers, just most. It does make you wonder how much of the cost goes to licensing vs how many "molds" they had to use for this since they are usually given a certain amount of changes before they have to finalize. Meaning, stickers are a necessary evil to allow other elements to be included. The figures look great, but I wonder how much they will be in the aftermarket. Also, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere (maybe from J2G) that there was no Simpsons release this year, which certainly could line up with Marcos doing this instead. OR there could be licensing issues OR sales issues with Simpsons...who knows. We will see if they decide to do another minifigure series also. But it sounded like 2016 wouldn't have that.
  25. ^Always fun to read your posts. I bet that was interesting to listen in on, especially for people like me who know very little about mindstorms or technic.
