  1. The problem with Western is, they have thrown in a few for the CMF line-up probably to avoid doing a full theme (similar to Roman, etc.)
  2. SNL goat boy anyone? With a goat... But seriously, yes I'd love more goats/animals also. Are there chickens in Nexo Knights? I noticed the small Robin character has a chicken for a shield emblem.
  3. I can only think of the finances required to get that many Uruks...I wanted to build up my army a bit, but at 7-10$ each, I decided against it.
  4. I agree..goats, cows...something to help with the rural farm life. But I also mean in a more affordable set. I can't remember what the last set they were included in was. Even chickens aren't necessarily super cheap in the aftermarket (not horrible though). But not easy to come by.
  5. MUST HAVE!!!! I loved that era of Castle. I'm currently recreating my old sets into new MOCs. It is interesting they used a classic Crusader type, but I'm okay with it. Although, it will be interesting having one in light bley instead of light gray. Granted, the Black Falcon update in the minifigure TRU set utilized light bley also instead of light gray, so I guess they are in good company. My qualm would be, $50 for one of these...it will be hard for me to army build. Oh well. Like others have said, I now get the privilege of spending $50 that I wasn't originally going to spend.
  6. I have wanted to build some LEGO equivalents to some of the Halo vehicles. I don't know how many pieces actually transfer over from MB to LEGO, or if they use specialized pieces for some of the odd shapes. I hadn't thought about it too much, but I could understand the appeal for some people. I will always hear people in the LEGO aisle, "oh look, they have Call of Duty LEGO now!".... but in reality, no they don't. But people don't pay attention to the details. Either way, there is a market for it otherwise they wouldn't be taking over the LEGO aisle.
  7. Temes - The problem with that idea is they have already increased the price the last few years and keep making the buildings smaller and more detailed. So to increase the price even further to make them bigger puts them in Town Hall territory and not even that size of building. And we all know how well that set sold. I don't want them any more expensive. $160 was pushing it for me, so $170 is already out of my range. I know lots can keep buying them no matter the price and good for them, but I know it will also limit their market if they keep going too high and too kid friendly.
  8. I've wanted to build this dragon/scene for a while, but I never got around to it. This looks marvelous. Can't wait to see more.
  9. Well, in my job I've noticed a lot of contact lens manufacturers raise the prices on their older materials because they want people buying the new product (thus cheaper). But for horses, if they were clearing out stock it would make more sense to lower the price, so I don't know.
  10. They do make official ants in the Ant Man set..that would be scarier seeing oversized ants coming to eat your face! Good build though. I still need to figure out what I want to do for that category of the contest. Good luck!
  11. Very well done. I also have been wanting to build a joust MOC and I have also really liked/looked at Mark and Steven's build. Your build has a lot of character. Naturally the curved wall jumps out. I like the tiling within the arches. That seems very appealing to me. I like the platform the noblemen get to watch from. The roofing idea is very clever. The crowd is very lively also, which adds to the whole MOC. For some reason, I want to be weird and make my MOC with only classic yellow smiley faces. But I can appreciate how much facial expressions add to the MOC. Keep up the good work!
  12. ^per Brickset, $4.50. A fun little set. I liked all of the little sets they used to do back then. Granted, I liked the heraldry back then more too. (It was my golden age) Interesting review.
  13. Very nicely done. I always wonder about scale with these things. I've built a Darth Maul hilt plus blade, but it is a tad smaller than a fellow LUG members Luke hilt/blade they built. Oh well, either way, good detail based on that source picture.
  14. 1) I signed up when prompted. It was likely not long after Diagon Alley came out. I continue to use it for large purchases at times. 2) VIP points help offset the cost of larger sets. I typically use VIP points for Bricks and Pieces purchases, so that helps or shipping costs. 3) It doesn't influence what I buy, only when. I only purchase during promo periods or double points. Otherwise, other stores get my money due to sales at the time. Granted, with LEGO exclusives, I don't really have a choice, but again I do wait for specific times of the year. 4) Special promo polybags could be good. Granted, anyone could sign up and get them right away so the idea wouldn't be very exclusive. Also, some other poster mentioned things involving Bricks and Pieces. That would be great! Certain pieces available at certain times or more unique pieces available. Maybe a lower threshold for free shipping for VIP members? Even, $49 would be better than $75. I rarely have $75 at one time, so then I end up purchasing elsewhere because of shipping costs. 5) All customers should be treated with respect. I don't know if a VIP member should be treated any differently than any other member. If someone is really interested in joining the program, it is a quick procedure so there really isn't much of a delineation between members/non-members.
  15. It looks good. I never got into the show as much as other people, but I should give it another shot. The ship is recognizable enough. The midsection does look a bit thin compared to some source photos I was looking at, but overall good shaping and coloring.
  16. I like the army you designed. Is that the back of a Chima wolf torso? I also hadn't considered using those Roman plumes in that helmet, so that is interesting. I may have to look into this. Plus, making your own barding is clever. I should look into that myself. The gun is interesting. I tend to keep weapons of this nature out of my medieval world, but I understand the appeal for many to mesh the two worlds together. It can be quite interesting.
  17. Clever. I like it. The backdrop helps sell the MOC, but the floating really adds a lot to it also.
  18. Very interesting. I used to love Space Police when I was a kid. I was unable to get into Space Police II for some reason. I just never got the sets, but I liked them too. But part of me wants to build Blacktron 2 MOCs and include Space Police I instead of SPII to capture them instead of capturing Blacktron I. Either way, I like the ship. It has a good combination of official color scheme. The design is well thought out. I really like the engine. I hadn't considered using those pieces but they do add some heft to it. (Granted I'm not a traditional spaceship designer, so a lot of pieces aren't in the forefront of my mind).
  19. ^ it does make me wonder if the legends would be any better received today. It seems the market for AFOLs is bigger now. It is further removed from some of the releases of those sets. An affordable option for black falcon? Yes, please! I think the bigger issue was a lot of people were still kids then and sales sucked. Sure, sales might still suck, but they could probably promote it differently or pull in different fans. I know it won't happen, but it is fun to dream.
  20. I've thought about doing similar things as this. Taking an old set and rebuilding it into a new style, but keeping the charm of the original. But then my imagination gets the better of me. I end up wanting to go bigger and changing things, then it becomes a new MOC and took away the purpose of doing it. So then I end up not doing it. But seeing this, it does look quite comparable to the original. Not to copy you, but I may have to try my hand at this afterall. Maybe I'll start with another set to space out time involving Black Falcons, but they are a favorite faction of many people. Keep up the good work.
  21. Poor Cary Elwes and his overacting...oh yeah, and his foot. Nice rendition. I'd much rather see it in LEGO than real life again.
  22. I've been wanting to get back into castle/medieval building, so this might be the motivation I need to do that. Interesting topics for sure. I can't wait to see what others come up with. Some really clever builders out there. I'm still a novice.
  23. ^my interpretation was she was already dead and that is why she is so calm. But the man is realizing his impending doom, and the life is draining from his eyes. Powerful stuff. I hadn't considered hanging people before. Interesting tree. I am trying to build a small forest for my castle, so I may have to look at that for inspiration. I'm not sure what direction I want to go with just yet.
  24. Very well done. I really like the ice cream trailer and the popcorn vendor. Those are things I will definitely add to my own amusement park/county fair scene. My goal was to build a few rides and games similar to the official Mixer and Winter Village Market, just to keep a fun little diorama. Yours handles it quite nicely. And I immediately appreciated the power cords considering I almost always trip on them at the real fair! Keep up the good work. I will definitely look back on this for inspiration for my own build in the future. My daughter seems to really like this idea of amusement parks/county fairs so I'm sure she will get a kick out of this as well.
  25. This is an interesting take on the Cafe/Bike Shop set. It is eerie how similar it is to my own (at least the base floor). Keep up the good work.
