Very clever. What piece was the ice? Is it the glue from Lord Business's Lair? I should start doing little scenes like this for our LUG shows. Although I'm always scared to take minifigures to the public.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
TheLegoDr replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
So sets like this question how much I care about Spider-Man..at those prices I can't justify the lackluster sets, but I wouldn't mind the figures. That's why I haven't picked up the sandman set. It didn't look worth it for what I'd want...it's a shame really. -
I love it. Even with any resemblance to something else, this looks entirely unique. (And I love Btron 2)

This is brilliant. I may have to "borrow" some ideas in the future. I am currently putting together my own Grand Carousel, and my daughter has the Ferris Wheel, so it would be smart to pick up a few other rides. It would work really well for one of our LUG shows. Keep up the great work

Brilliant! I've been wanting to build my own version for a while. I like how you did the passenger cars. Using the clear panels instead of the expensive red windows is smart. I'm not sure why I didn't think of that. I did buy a handful of the red windows though so I may still go that route, but I like how it turned out with the panels.

It definitely looks too tall there. That is the primary problem with modifying some of these sets, proportions can be tricky.
-
I hadn't thought to do that. Very clever. I like the idea of a spacesuit around the dino head making it an alien life form. I am going to have to look into this for some LUG shows. Maybe I'll try it with raptors or ostriches or something.

I'm (not) surprised at how the Town Hall dwarfs the Bank. And the more I look at it, the more I'm uncertain about that Laundromat building. It is an interesting play feature, but it makes the bank so tiny on that baseplate..

I'm surprised the "boy" hairpiece doesn't look as good as I had wanted it to. But the female long elf hair looks fine. Interesting.

What should or should not be on Lego Ideas?
TheLegoDr replied to Wodanis's topic in General LEGO Discussion
People say don't vote for the rubbish, or don't buy the projects you don't like. Which is exactly what I do. I essentially avoid the whole IDEAS website because it takes too long finding things I'd actually want to buy. I've picked up a few sets, but I haven't in a while. And looking at the next review cycle, I don't expect to be picking any of them up either. Maybe I'm not the target audience. -
Bricklinking pieces vs buying a whole set
TheLegoDr replied to Captain Pirate Man's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've been slowly piecing together of blacktron and mtron sets. But I have used my own new collection and old pieces. I can't tell too much fun the outside and I still get the set. But it was definitely cheaper than buying the actual sets. However shipping does eat up a lot of money. -
Nice representation! It sounds like a good place to visit. We dont have any hotdog places here. Quite sad.

I knew this building was small, but seeing it in the video next to Cafe Corner and seeing how it is smaller than that even, I'm surprised. I always thought CC was too small for the layout and I haven't modded any buildings bigger like a few others here. Very interesting. It being a mirror build is quite interesting too. It almost looks like a different building. I do think I will have to mod mine to be at least a full scale corner building instead of also with the laundromat, but I don't think I'll modify it any taller. I don't want to just add an extra floor and I don't want to mess up the current design, but I'll have to tinker with it. I originally thought this next Christmas I'd get it, but with the GBHQ and Batcave, I'm guessing something will have to not get bought.

Very neat. A lot of little details that are fun. I've been wanting to build my own large/tall Rapunzel tower too for my daughter, but I just never have time or money to do it. This is neat how it encapsulates a lot of other stores also. My only suggestion would be to add some sort of blue across the top of the mermaid section to make it appear like it is 100% under water instead of just a cliff and cave. Yes, the lighting won't be as good, but it would appear more watery.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

Yeah, that's ripping off the system. Doing things like that will likely cause them to quit allowing pieces out. -

Poe Dameron - that is simply beautiful! Thank you so much! I'll have to give it a try sometime and see how it fits, but the visual graphic is exactly what I was looking for. So thank you. Just so we are clear, this will fit a 2x4 tile? or brick? Thanks!

DC Super Heroes - 76052 Batman™ Classic TV Series - Batcave
TheLegoDr replied to CopMike's topic in LEGO Licensed
Amset-Rah, good point. I hadn't considered it being a TV set. That certainly works as to why it looks the way it does. I will echo what most others have said. Neat set, great figures, too expensive. Certainly at $200, it'd be day one purchase, even if the build itself was skewed a bit. At $270, it is difficult to even think about. As for Freeze...if they give it away only with original sales of the Batcave, that will be disappointing. If it is a freebie for over a certain $ amount, then I will be able to swing that. But to miss out on these figures because of the cost and then to pay even more for Freeze later...LEGO upsets me. Such is life, but that means I spend less on LEGO in the future. -
Very fun. I like the modification. I may need to look into doing something similar. The interior is what makes the MOC though. Good work.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion
TheLegoDr replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
They had some at Target over this last week here in Nebraska. But they sold out quickly obviously. I only checked one Target though, so I don't know if they were put out at the others or at TRU (I never go there). So there is hope for finding some early. -
Very clever jetpack flame idea. That is probably my favorite part about the build.

Thank you. I know there are a lot of talented designers on here and I have zero knowledge of any of this. But I understand if it can't be done. One for sure, is for a law firm Moc. Either a 2x4 or 2x2 tile. Likely black. Maybe gold lettering, but that might be hard. Inscription to say either: Nelson and Murdock (all centered) Or if there is room to add attorneys at law underneath Murdock. Similar to this picture Thanks!

I know this is a minifig recall wishlist, but can we request non minifig decals? I am in need of something that would cover a 2x4 tile for a modular I am working on. If I knew how to make them myself, I wouldn't trouble you all. Thanks!

Incredibly brilliant. The colors work well together. The little details here and there are great. The bird's nest is neat and the telescope. Of course the ladder is creative and I even like the walls of the house itself. Very well done.

[MOC] Green Lantern battle for the power battery!
TheLegoDr replied to MightySlickPancake's topic in LEGO Licensed
They have so many great heads of different skin tone and even new hair pieces. Hopefully you will be able to update the build with them instead of the old nba figure head.- 11 replies
