  1. This would be absolutely amazing, but sadly quite unlikely now that the show is over.
  2. I meant that the design itself is still decent; the main parts that stand out to me as exclusive are the flex-tubes. A MOC-mod with some clever sausage use (phrasing!) to make up for the lack of tubing would be fairly easy (and you could go further and improve the foliage/tree canopy with modern parts and techniques). Thank! I cannot take credit for it, though - I got it from Star Wars Explained!
  3. The next battle pack probably depends on what the R2-KT set includes; if it really is Stormies vs. Rebel Fleet Troopers, we can rule out those as BP possibilities. We already got P2 Shinies this year, so not likely for a set that will coexist on shelves with the current set. I personally am wondering if we will start to see Clones in $30 packs, while other factions take the $20 slot - The $30 501st pack sold incredibly well, and I imagine that the Shinies/Shock pack is selling equally well. $30 Clone packs also allow Battle Droids to be included, which is something that we need, and it can also allow new/remade droid types to appear (Commando Droids, Tactical/Super Tactical Droids, Aqua Droids, etc). This would also allow LEGO to effectively give us three BPs each year, and cater to a wider array of fans. My hopes/predictions: $20 Night Trooper pack - 2x Night Trooper (white helmet), 1x Night Trooper (grey face helmet), 1x ‘Double Death Trooper’ $30 212th Clone pack - 3x 212th Trooper (fixed helmet print!), 1x 212th Airborne Trooper, 1x Tactical Droid, 4x B1 Battle Droid / Build includes a Crab Droid I do want a 327th pack, but I feel like they are more likely to appear in a large set (AT-OT or Juggernaut, perhaps) in order to include Bly, and we really need fixed 212th helmets and 212th Airborne Troopers! I hope that it is the bunker, since the Ewok village still holds up, and the bunker is long overdue for a remake!
  4. I checked over pilots seen in Rebels, helmet cosmetics in Squadrons, and the NR Adelphi Rangers, and none of them have this kriffing helmet! This is either in deep-cut Legends character, or (more likely) a tremendous missed opportunity to give us a missing OT Rebel pilot or obscure NR pilot! Also, the meme/meta vibe of RTG would have lent itself well to someone like Trapper Wolf, or one of the other director-cameo NR pilots. LifeBricks is consistently full of Bantha poodoo; ignore him. Interesting - Can you say more, either about the Mon Cal, or about any other figures that appear in the set?
  5. Photos of the X-wing vs. TIE are out! The set actually looks pretty good; the struts connecting the TIE's cockpit to the wings are too blocky (to accommodate the wing-swapping feature) and the tip of the X-wing's nose looks a bit small, but otherwise I like them. I definitely prefer the X-wing's nose shaping on this version over the previous ones, and I like seeing the TIE Bomber style windscreen come back (spring-shooters have been moved to the struts). The Minifigs also are decent; Yesi Scala and Sig Greebling are both more useful as background characters (Rebels, cantina patrons, etc) than any of the Dark Falcon Minifigs, and we get a standard TIE pilot and Rebel pilot (I cannot tell whose helmet he has). L3-G0 is silly (but a cute idea, even if he comes out looking more like a McDroid!), but I can let it slide because the other Minifigs are actually good. I am a bit disappointed that the pilot does not have dual-moulded legs (not that I expected them) or a new face (female, or darker skin), and that the TIE pilot has a reused standard helmet (it would have been nice to see either a new paint scheme or an entirely new mould for one of the Squadrons helmets).
  6. Has anyone tried to fit Batman into the Lambo V12? It looks like it would make an excellent Batmobile (with the olive green parts switched to black, obviously!), but I am not sure that any of the cowls will fit and allow the canopy to close all the way.
  7. I think that it is less likely that’s LEGO is using AI to generate names, and more likely that they are just trying to cram as many search keywords into the names as possible (so that when parents Google “LEGO Iron Man”, this set appears).
  8. Meh. 😕 The set looks basically how I expected it to (so a pass), but I had hoped for at least some useful Minifigs. Dark Rey is not bad, though her eyes are odd and she needs leg printing, and White Vader is a good depiction of his Star Wars Infinities counterpart; the others are disappointing, however. Beach Luke is just silly (missed opportunity for Cassian’s Niamos outfit!), Creepio has silver leg print (so no way to use him to make a fully gold Threepio), and Darth Jar Jar is bland apart from the head. Darth Dev/Sev (sp?) is extremely detailed and cool-looking (to include arm printing), but unfortunately LEGO again passed on the opportunity to base his design on something that actually appears somewhere in Canon/Legends (such as an Inquisitor, Starkiller, or battle-damaged Vader). He is useful for custom Inquisitors or Old Republic Sith, though, which is nice. Unfortunately, it does not seem that the concept is being used to give us characters and outfits that we may otherwise not get (e.g. Moff Mothma, Rebel General Tarkin (Madine’s uniform), etc). I also feel like LEGO pushed the meme-y vibe and OCs too far; White Vader could have been a May the Fourth gift and Dark Rey could have been an anniversary ‘fig, for example. IMO, a better set would have just been a Jedi Bob vs. Darth Jar Jar (with Dev/Sev’s torso and legs) set with Rebel Friend and a Beach Trooper; build would be two obscure Legends starfighters (or maybe a JSF vs. TIE Defender) and a Minikit for $110. Stretching the concept out over three sets at varying price-points just feels like too much, and takes up slots that could have been used for better sets. 🫤
  9. This is another contradiction - The designers stated that the sets were intended to depict the far future, but the comic takes place in the present day.
  10. I meant that since the information we have for classic themes comes both from marketing materials (comics, catalogue descriptions, etc) as well as designer interviews (such as the meaning of the CS colours), I consider both marketing and design teams’ interpretations to be equally valid with regard to LEGO’s intent for a theme (that is, a theme with minimal lore that needs to be pieced together from a variety of sources).
  11. Obviously, but it would be better from a business standpoint though. Agreed 100%! Cal (maybe the J:S version?) and BD-1 Stinger Mantis microfighter in 2025/2026? 🤔
  12. True, though given the history of LEGO themes’ lore, I consider both tie-in comics and designer intent to be equal in terms of canonicity. Technically, sure, but the name “Planet X” is usually used to refer to a hypothetical tenth (now ninth) planet in our Solar System. Maybe Planet X used to be in our solar system, until a wormhole to a distant galaxy opened. . .
  13. There may be a difference between how longtime AFOLs vote and how the majority of poll respondents vote - Longtime AFOLs may go for teal because it historically has been a rare/special colour (and for Rock Raiders MOCs!), while more casual or newer fans go for the one colour that stands out from the others (pearl gold).
  14. I would guess non-licensed, since the article emphasised that most kids saw space as a place of endless imaginative possibilities. Though the magazine comic does contradict this somewhat by calling the planet “Planet X”.
  15. I am honestly surprised that LEGO put young Leia into the build-a-droid set - Swapping her with Fives would not affect sales of the Tantive IV, but would absolutely increase those of the droids set! The Minifig list for the R2-KT set is odd (just Stormtroopers and Rebel Fleet Troopers), so there is still a chance that @Renown’s 1984 quote is referring to that set. Either that, or someone in one of the Rebuild the Galaxy sets (do we know everyone who will be in the TIE vs. X-wing set?).
  16. It is possible; Thor, Avengers Hulk, and Endgame Valkyrie can be reused, so we would just need new versions of Loki and Hela for a final battle set! Maybe something like the Chitauri Leviathan set, but with Fenris as the main build?
  17. We have progressed considerably since the late 2000’s, when kids were switching the alien SP3 heads to the villains during playtesting! Also, this quote bodes well for the future of Space: “Based on the company's research, Lego found that 77% of kids want to travel to space and 86% are interested in finding new planets, stars and galaxies. Additionally, more than 3 in 5 children believe there are aliens in space, and 64% want to meet one.”
  18. This might be copium, but what if it refers to the mysterious young Leia “buildable creature” set? Either C-3PO does not have an anniversary ‘fig (which is weird), or Leia appears in that set instead and we know nothing about the “buildable creature”. I have doubts about the set actually being a buildable creature, since the only information that we have is the “more than two eyes” comment - Maybe the set actually includes someone who fits the 1984 hint, such as Tarkin or Pershing? 🤔
  19. A Blacktron Renegade or Deep Freeze Defender scaled-up to match the Galaxy Explorer would be day 1 for me!! I would personally also like to see a remade Galactic Mediator (SP2); the original is mid compared to other ships of the time, but it has some cool design elements (double cockpit) and a colour-scheme that would look better if executed with modern parts and building techniques. A scaled-up GM with smoother and less blocky wings, a more detailed central body, and better colour integration (maybe with green added as an accent colour) would be an excellent follow-up to the GE, and would also really showcase how LEGO’s designs and techniques have improved over the past few decades. Also, it could give us an unmutated Blacktron II astronaut, as well as SP2 officers updated to match the others that we have gotten. Bases are somewhat tricky, since after the Classic Space era, they depended heavily on those large faceted window pieces. I could see a CS base working as a GWP, but I am not sure that we will get one as a retail set. M:Tron has a decent number of mid-size ships, so I can see one of them getting scaled-up to a $60-$70 set. The Mega Core Magnetizer is iconic, but the main impediment is the (clever!) use of the faceted quarter window piece as the front canopy - I am not sure how that could be replicated at the original size (or larger) using modern parts. 🫤
  20. While I disagree that lime is too ugly, I do think that you are right overall. I wonder if this was intentional, and that LEGO already had plans to make (or favoured) a gold CS Spaceman, so the poll was designed to favour gold.
  21. Do Astromechs count as Minifigs now? I have noticed a trend towards defining “Minifigs” as only the classic design, with droids, bigfigs, and other figures being presented and described differently. I can see the Minifig list being Jedi Bob, a P1 Shiny, and an Astromech (which is consistent with the last Jedi Starfighter of this size). VIDIYO was great - The prices, lack of entry-level/impulse sets, busy and confusing box art, and over-reliance on the app are what broke the theme. The actual sets and Minifigs were excellent, and the theme overall was the most whacky and creative offering in years (pre-Dreamzzz, and even Dreamzzz is more cohesive than VIDIYO’s ‘everything goes’ vibe)! If the Shadow ARF is not a direct remake but an update to the modern Clone design, I would have to pick up the set! A better anti-scalper direct remake option would be the concept art white Boba Fett, IMO; the design still holds up, and it can be modified into the Imperial Super Commandos that we see in Rebels. If a Mon Cal appears in the set, they will most likely be a villain (considering the premise of the show) - Maybe a Grand Admiral Ackbar? That would also explain why Thrawn has an undamaged uniform, and also why Peridea has so many new characters/variants. 🤔
  22. It definitely feels like they are building towards an AvX storyline, given the argument between Rogue and Cap. If that happens, we must get sets - This is probably our best chance of getting comic-based Avengers!
  23. They were posted this year, so after the sets dropped; Instagram users are of all ages (and LEGO posts things on their page that are for a variety of ages), so the intended audience is anyone/everyone.
  24. A diorama/pseudo-diorama (AoU opening) for the airport battle would be amazing! Maybe Giant-Man in the centre, with others fighting around him? I foresee a lot of clear posing bars! That thing lasted a few seconds before being broken, so I doubt that LEGO would go to the trouble of making an entirely new mould for it.
