  1. Best Set 2014: The Parisian Restaurant. After a few not so impressive modulars, we had perhaps the best of all Worst Set 2014: Minecraft Ender Dragon. Never have I seen a set which looked so ugly or was so uninteresting part wise. Best Minifigure 2014: The 4 Ghostbusters characters. Each of them was instantly recognizable. Worst Minifigure 2014: Any hero factory figures... they look so non-Lego to me. Best Theme: Lego Ideas. This "theme" brought something so new into Lego, especially this year that sets came more frequently than ever. Worst Theme: Lego Simpsons. I wish they had made some smaller sets out of it.
  2. I maybe wrong, but I do not think an architecture set has ever been such a great part pack. This is incredible. It also looks quite nice. Thanks for the review.
  3. Thanks Zeya. I enjoyed reading every single bit of this great review. I had no clue this set existed and it was such a great way to discover it.
  4. I think that when the new line gets released, there will be a regain in interrest for the pirate theme. Actually, when I saw the first pictures of this new theme, I started working on my own fort. I believe it will be finished in two months. Lucklily, you are there to keep this forum very alive.
  5. The quality of your picture is astonishing. I wish there were more...
  6. I love the various roof techniques you used, this is very inspiring. The whole MOC works superbly. I actually, like the square base much better than anything else as it really shows how the buildings are not alligned. I am still wondering which area you could have improved by having more bricks. This MOC looks perfect to me.
  7. Fantastic Review for a fantastic line. I think this is the first time I vote "outstanding" for a minifigure line. Each figure appeals me by one way or the other. I also love the number allocation of these figures.
  8. I wished I could vote for three. The selection was really hard to make. I have to admit that it has been a while a series has excited me as much.
  9. There are some techniques I had never seen before particularly on the old supreme court office. This is a splendid build. I am amazed on how you got so many details by working in microscale.
  10. I just showed that to my wife. She thought it was amazing (like I did) and had a hard time believing that the aquarium was made of Lego. She said we should have the same aquarium to ensure our fishes survive as unfortunately she made a speciality to kill fish lately in our aquarium.
  11. Thanks DrJB. It does not necessarily need to be geared. However, I wanted to avoid having a mechanism above the gate - if that makes any sense. I fear that by using ropes/strings, part of the mechanism has to go above the gate. If there are no altenatives, I will try to use the option and use the ropes on the extremities. Thanks also for linking me to Akiyuki's GBC... They are amazing. Thanks TheNextLegoDesinger. Your advise is greatly appreciated. As above I am trying to avoid using any ropes. However, if this ends up being the best altenative, I will use that one.
  12. Dear Technic Engineers, When I stumbble around this part of the forum, I am always in admiration with what you are able to achieve. I believe one of you will be able to help me achieve what I'd like to do for my next MOC. I am trying to have two gates lift together. The lift support for this lift would be on one side of it. (Not on the top nor on multiple sides). Ideally, the mechanism for this lift would be at the bottom. I had initially come up with a design that you can se below but it proved to be too weak to lift the gates. Do you guys have any idea for a mechanism that would life the gates? Do you have any improvements to suggest? Thanks in advance, Here is the gate design: Here is the layout I had built: I am sorry for the poor quality of the above picture. I did not want to destroy the whole MOC yet. I hope however that you will understand the main features of the mechanism from that picture. My idea was to have the four technic bars rotate at the same speed and lift the gate thanks to the gear worm screw. On the other side, there would be a wall preventing the gate to fall off.
  13. It is interresting how the majority seems to keep the boxes. I personally don't as all they would do is take space and collect dust. The few sets I have sold over ebay have sold very well despite the lack of box.
  14. Hi Janet. Glad to see you here. I had seen your MOCs somewhere and I was trully impressed. I think a friend of yours had posted that amazing Tomb Raider MOC. Anyway, I am really looking forward some new ones. What are you working on now?
  15. This is truly an epic MOC. The lightning is perfect. I like how the back cliff is built upside down so the bats could be facing down. The chair you build is indeed amazing and looks quite comfy. Out of curiosity, do you have an idea about how many bats appear in this MOC?
  16. I really like this alternate build. It is amazing how you can see the details better with the white and blue color scheme.
  17. Trully loved it. Did not know what to expect and was clearly not disappointed.
  18. I am fairly certain that these are the Really Useful Boxes. You can find them here. It looks like Canada is not listed as a country where they are available.
  19. I have just purchased this set off on amazon at a 27% discount for £8.75. Never have I felt so much value for my money. This review does justice to an amazing set. The piece selection is amazing and the 3 figures are simply gorgeous. For anyone in the UK who has not taken this offer up, I'd advise you to rush on it.
  20. This brick has a small hole underneath that can fit such pieces (at least it works for the queen crown)
  21. Interestingly, I never wandered around this part of the forum. With all these different jobs, I guess we needed a person from HR... so here I am. I am a benefits manager in an Oil&Gas company.
  22. This is impressive and quite beautiful!!! Was it not possible to take the picture from a lower angle?
  23. Trully fantastic. I do not have any other words.
  24. Amazing Entries! 3: 10 2: 6 9: 4 8: 3 7: 2 1: 1
  25. I do not find it less despicable to steal from a friend than from a book. actually quite the opposite.
