I am admittedly very impressed by your house. Using the pick a brick wall as the main source of brick must have made your build very challenging. I am quite eager to see the buildings you will be making once your collection grows.

Wow, these figures are so recognizable. I am impressed. $220 is a very steep price though. That being said, I do not know what the typical price for a custom figure is. Would you know if they are made our of real LEGO or forged in their own plastic?

Does your current Lego setup inspire you to build?

Thanks so much for your comments/encouragements, they are really appreciated. I am pleased to see you like it. I am glad to see you know the comic. It is such a great comic. It is also a great source of inspiration for any western lovers as it is often easier to copy in comics. I am quite proud of the log effect. It was quite hard to achieve and make the structure solid. One of my previous build, the union soldier headquarter, served as a practice for achieving it. Thanks for the constructive criticism. I did try to go both routes, but none got the result I wanted. When I used the 1x1 round pieces, it looked like a straight line. If I tried to use some brown 1x1 round piece to elevate some of the studs, it had an awkward look. In regards to the cones, they were indeed a great idea, unfortunately, if I was using that mean, the wall would have been too high in comparison to the minifigs.

Great. I will read it right now. It is funny yesterday, I browsed your site thinking it was a long time I had not seen a new issue coming. I was too scared I had missed one. Thanks so much for making what I believe to be the best Lego magazine.

<p>Hello Everyone, I am pleased to share with you my latest MOC. It was a very challenging build as I used for the first time a lot of SNOT techniques, including the base. This was the best solution to have the log bricks of the tower alligned horizontally and for the build to be sturdy. It is inspired from the Belgian comic "Les Tuniques Bleues" (In English, The Bluecoats"). Fort Bow appears in half a dozen albums at least. It is also the first time I am using photoshop to edit the background of the pictures.Let me know if you like this mean of sharing pictures. Anyway, here is my version of FORT BOW: The back of the fort: And here is a page from one of the albums where Fort Bow is appearing: You can go on my Flickr to see more unedited pictures.

My personal favourite is 10213 space shuttle . While I am not a fan of space, vehicles, etc... I found this set to be such a good reproduction of the actual space shuttle. It included also an amazing number of play features and it was really well priced. Finally, it looks really good on display.

Crazy Store Markup Stories
kinggregus replied to Ridge Montante's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I do not remember the exact name of the toy store (It was a fairly unknown brand to me in the UK) but they were selling in an outlet shopping mall sets that were damaged well above RRP. I was astonished to see Jabba's palace in a very damaged box for £150. The worse was that they were showing these sets as if they were at a massive discount. -
Quality of service at LEGO stores.
kinggregus replied to Gatthekid's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I completely understand your frustration and find this really unfair from them. I believe that they want to avoid having people get a lot of these polybags for the secondary market. However, the manager should really show some flexibility for cases like yours. As Jorrith said, I would definitely file a complaint with Lego. -
REVIEW: 71005 LEGO Minifigures - The LEGO Simpsons Series
kinggregus replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Licensed
For once, I have to disagree about TLG limiting the creativity of individuals. The fact that they offered only the minifigures without a set next to it actually encourage creativity in my opinion. We have already seen people creating Simpson s related sets such as the school. I am certain we will see many new versions of Simpsons related landmark soon. That being said, I doubt I'll purchase them as they are too specific and it would be difficult to mix these figures with regular ones.- 118 replies

LEGO Minifigures – The LEGO Simpsons Series Poll
kinggregus replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Licensed
Even though I cannot distinguish what is his accessory, I really like Mr Burns. The lego shape fits him really well. Apu comes as a close second. In terms of accessory, I would really like to have Lisa's Sax. I may edit my vote when I actually purchase the figures...- 15 replies

This is a great MOC, and what a first MOC! Your Helm's Deep is really fantastic. The rock work you did is really adding to the structure.

[MOC] Fort Legoredo (a work in progress)
kinggregus replied to jodawill's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Hi Jodawill, I really like your version of the fort. It looks really nice. While I like your landscaping, if you want to add more texture to it, you can put round plates randomly. PS I am currently building a similar fort (though I can work only on the gate). I hope to be finished in a couple weeks. -

In the US, is there not a tax exemption for things bought online? (I can be totally wrong) If it is the case it could be worth having the item delivered to your hotel?

Can you buy online from lego and take it back to store
kinggregus replied to SMC's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thanks for having made a follow up. I agree it sounds odd, particularly because all stores belong to the group and are not franchises. -
Hi GregoryBrick, I think you misinterpreted what the above poster and me meant. In general, the AFOL community is paying too much attention at piece count rather than the overall value of a set. I do not mind having 2 1x3 pieces in lieu of 1 2x3. We should just not believe that one set is a better deal than the other. Sometimes, I fear that people are led to believe that sets with a lot of small pieces are better deal.

I spot some black, green, yellow and red.... Well this is not a very helpful clue. -
Great signature. I could not agree more.

Thanks a lot everyone for your comments. They are very encouraging. I just wish I could have had better quality pictures. I have to admit that I am fascinated by the work you and the other MOCers do in the Guilds of Historica. Unfortunately, as I am in my early MOCing stage, I am trying my hands on different themes/environments to see which one suits me best. For instance, I believe that my next MOC will be closer to the Avalonia style.

I could not agree more. I am a bit tired of Lego trying to make figures or other items too exclusive.

I tend to buy sets at heavily discounted price. Amazon is great for that. I also complement my collection with the pick a brick wall. It might be a bit more expensive than buying bulk lots, but doing it that way, you are certain that the pieces are clean. The biggest advice I can give you, is to not rush it. You have plenty of time to get to a decent collection. Good luck rebuilding your collection.

Thanks a lot Andy. I had from the beginning the battle of Alamut. However, I found out that the fight for the dager and the Ostrich Race were still being sold on Amazon.co.uk below RRP. I bought 2x the fight for the dagger and 1x the Ostrich Race. In regards to your market street, I seem to be able to find only the WIP, would you link me to the final one? I would love to see some other people's work on that line.
