  1. That's true, and personally I think this new Legoland exclusive looks like a great set and has got plenty that should satisfy fans of fairground sets.
  2. So now we have confirmation of the new Luna Lander and rumors of a Creator Expert Harley Davidson - I'm wondering whether it's likely we're gonna see a new fairground set released this year. Assuming we will get a new winter village set, that means there will have been at least 5 Creator Expert sets in 2019 and maybe more if we get a re-release of a classic set at the end of the year as they have done the past 2 years. Have any allocated set numbers been revealed for 2019 which could still potentially be a new fairground set?
  3. Thanks very much for buying the instructions. Would love to see some pictures when you've completed the build. So far I've not seen any photos from anyone who has actually built the model.
  4. Yes the shield style technic brick I used to create the roof design is sadly not available in white and is also pretty rare. I hadn't realised this when I originally designed the model last year. I have decided to rebuild the roof for the instructions and the best method I've found of recreating a similar look is by using 2x2 square jumper plates positioned backwards and positioned at the same angle as the technic shields. Overall it gives a pretty similar appearance and will be cheaper and easier for people to buy the parts.
  5. Just seen that the new Creator sets are already available to purchase here in the UK from Smyths Toys. They're not available in store but they can be ordered online. Here's the link to the cafe pet shop but all the other sets are available on the site too. https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/toys/lego-and-bricks/lego-creator/lego-31097-creator-townhouse-pet-shop-and-café/p/175222
  6. This new set looks as if it has plenty to appeal to fairground fans. It's a legoland exclusive. https://www.thebrickfan.com/new-exclusive-legoland-park-40346-set-found/
  7. Instructions are coming soon. I'll update this thread as soon as they are available, hopefully in a few weeks time.
  8. Thanks very much. Gldad you like the design and the donut store in particular. Regarding the typewriter in the office - here's a little guide a put together to show how it's built.
  9. I have to say, I think I'm probably more exited for this this set than I was about the Corner Garage.
  10. High res pics of the new creator sets have now been published by the Brick Fan. https://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-creator-summer-2019-official-set-images/ That pet shop/cafe really does look great and there is a new one as well, the Wilderness hut which looks a pretty nice little Creator building.
  11. Woah!! I had no idea it had been featured by Brick Vault. Thanks for making me aware of that. That's a great bit of promotion.
  12. This set received quite a bit of criticism when it was released but I really like it. It's a great looking bus. My only complaints are the seats inside the bus and the roof which is difficult to remove.
  13. Wow, I'm really impressed with the look of the pet shop / cafe. The set seems to have the same style of sidewalk and the same general aesthetic of past 3in1 sets like the corner deli, so it is obviously intended to fit in with those buildings. It is clearly an open backed building. However I'm wondering if it might be possible to remove the corner section of sidewalk and close the building up, in the same way that you can with the Corner Deli.
  14. Thanks very much for your kind comment. I'm glad you like it. Thanks also to everyone who has supported the project on LEGO Ideas. It has now passed 1000 votes.
  15. This looks absolutely great. I love the dark orange stripes running across the walls of the building on the right. The shaping of the roof on that building also looks very good indeed. Great renders too by the way.
  16. Each flower pot is made up from 2 rounded bricks (3063).
  17. I don't know if it's a leak or not but images of the steamboat Willey box art have shown up on Instagram. It looks great and has been changed considerably from the original Ideas submission.
  18. Just wanted to post about my latest project which has now been on LEGO Ideas for about a week. You may have seen this already in the Town forum. It's another modular building, this time a Police Station with a doughnut store attached. If anyone would like to vote for the model, I'd be hugely grateful. Here's the link https://ideas.lego.com/projects/fa5635b2-3b10-42e7-b7cc-027744005b84
  19. Thanks very much. Glad you like the pictures. Thank you very much for the compliment. Glad you like the typewriter. Regarding LEGO Ideas, the set that people always seem to refer to is the Modular Arcade which reached 10,000 but was not selected for production. I'm not sure how many modular buildings have ever achieved 10,000 votes apart from that one. Surely though if LEGO were completely opposed to producing an Ideas modular building then they would not approve them to be published on the site in the first place. This is a good point. Even if LEGO never produced my set - if enough people vote for it maybe it will help send a message to LEGO that people want to see a Police Station as part of the modular line.
  20. Thanks very much. Glad you like it. I've recently added a new modular as well.
  21. Thanks very much! Thanks very much. Glad you like the typewriter. It's only a little build made up from just 9 bricks but that does seem to be the one feature that most people like the best. The doughnut is supposed to look as if the chocolate icing is kind of dripping down from the top. A bit like in this image. Thanks a lot. I wanted to steer away from the usual grey / white / blue colour scheme that a lot of people use for police station mocs. I did want it to have a slightly cluttered, old fashioned feel to it so I'm glad you mentioned that in your comment. I tried not to include too many flowers with this one as I didn't think they'd suit a police station, but I couldn't help sneaking in my usual vines growing up the side of the walls. Many thanks. Yes there are plenty of donuts spread throughout the building. Thanks. I'm pleased with how the rear courtyard area turned out. My original idea was only to include this as a way of lowering the parts count by cutting out a large chunk of the rear of the building. It makes a little parking area for the car though and I think if other buildings were positioned on each side it would create a nice enclosed courtyard space. You are right with your reference to some elements being inspired by official modulars. Another one is the front seats of the car. These are built in a similar way to how they are done with the Downtown Diner car, allowing 2 passengers to sit side by side. Thanks very much and I'm glad you like this more than my last one. I added the blue stripe to the facade of the police station as an attempt to give some continuity with the blue building above the donut shop. Maybe a different colour would have worked better though. I'll try out some different variations. Thanks very much. Thanks, glad you like the typewriter. Thank you very much. I'm sorry if anyone was disappointed that I chose to put this model on LEGO Ideas. I designed this one right from the start with that intention though and there are many parts used that aren't currently available in my chosen colours. I also spent quite a long time working out how to keep it below the 3000 parts limit, which is surprisingly difficult with modulars. All of that was just so that it would be small enough to go on Ideas. I know I could have gone with the instructions route for this and maybe even earned some cash from doing so. I do very much enjoy the LEGO Ideas experience though and promoting my models is something I enjoy a lot and has become quite a labor of love. Whether or not the modulars would ever get selected for production is open to debate and I agree that the odds may not be in my favor with that. But who knows, you never know unless you try. It has become a bit of a personal ambition of mine to get one of my projects up to 10,000 votes. I would absolutely love to achieve that, regardless of whether the model was ever produced or not. I definitely haven't turned my back on sharing instructions though. My Brick Square Post Office has received a great response for the instructions released a few weeks ago and I'd love to follow that up by releasing instructions for the Queen Bricktoria pub as well at some point. I've also got lots of other ideas for future models too. With this Police Station moc, I just felt that I wanted to put it on Lego Ideas though.
  22. Hi everyone This my latest MOC and project for LEGO Ideas. My interpretation of a classic American style Police Station. Brick Town Police Station is a corner modular building built to the standard 32x32 footprint. The model is made up from 2826 pieces. The main focus of the model is the Police Station itself but I've also included doughnut store and a Police car. MINIFIGURES The model features 6 minifigures, including 4 Police officers, a criminal and the doughnut store worker. A Police dog is also included. LEVEL 1 - DOUGHNUT STORE AND POLICE STATION The ground level depicts a corner street scene. Various details include a bench, tree and water hydrant. A series of steps lead up to the main entrance of the police station which is set at a 45 degree angle to the rest of the building. The Police Station also features a garage with a barrier that can be raised and lowered to allow the Police car to drive through to the back of the building. Next door to the Police station is the doughnut store featuring bright red striped awning and a large doughnut sign on the roof. A narrow recess between the 2 buildings leads to a separate staff entrance in to the police station. On the ground level of the police station is the reception desk and waiting room. Behind the desk I've included a coffee machine and some equipment storage. There is also a door in this room that leads out to the back of the building where the police car can be parked. LEVEL 2 - OFFICES AND INTERROGATION ROOM A staircase on the ground level leads in to the Chief's office on the next floor. The office features the Chief's desk with a tiny typewriter and other details. Level 2 also features a staff office room with a water cooler and equipment storage. A window in this room overlooks the interview/interrogation room. LEVEL 3 - HOLDING CELLS The third level includes 2 prison holding cells. A door inside this room also gives the mini figs access on to the roof. POLICE CAR The police car is 6 studs wide but has space to fit 2 mini figs side by side in the front seats. THE FINISHED MODEL The image below shows this moc alongside my other modular buildings. Left to right - The Queen Bricktoria, Brick Square Post Office, Bricks & Blooms and The Convenience Store LEGO IDEAS I've added Brick Town Police Station to LEGO Ideas. If you like the model then I'd be massively grateful if you could please spare a few moments to check out the page on LEGO Ideas and give it your support. http://bit.ly/legomodularpolice Thanks for reading and I hope you like Brick Town Police Station, feel free to let me know what you think. If you'd like to see more, then head across to my Flickr page where I've uploaded many more pictures of the model.
  23. This is a great looking Post Office. I love all the shaping around the top of the door leading up to the large central window. The interior is also really great, as is the mail truck! Great work!
