  1. I'll be interested to see which of these 5 get approved for production. There may only be a small selection this time around but they are all really good.
  2. I have also seen the leaked image of the Popcorn cart. Is it confirmed that this will definitely be released as a polybag though? It looks exactly the same as the cart that is featured on the artwork for Lego's new "StayPlayful" campaign.
  3. Thank you very much and happy Christmas. Hope everyone on Eurobricks has had a great Christmas Day. Merry Christmas everyone.
  4. I'm really pleased to see that the latest update to Ideas has removed the short questionnaire they asked people to fill in every time you try and vote for a project. This makes voting much quicker, easier and more enjoyable in my opinion. I wonder if they've made it easier for people to sign up to LEGO Ideas as well? I've found this to be by far the biggest obstacle that puts people off voting. Congratulations, that's great. Hope it brings you some support.
  5. Thank you very much. Yes the whole model is set in the 1950's. The post truck is loosely based on a British Morris J type, like the example below.
  6. I'd been thinking exactly the same thing. The flower cart polybag was such a great little set and it would be great if they took this approach again and made a little car set to accompany the corner garage.
  7. Beautiful! My fave feature is the shape of the roof on the right side building and as others have said already, the balconies look awesome. Top work as always.
  8. Frostbricks Food Stand Diners has achieved 10,000 votes.
  9. Thanks a lot guys. Because this is not strictly a new moc, the storyline was just my way of presenting the model in a different way to usual. Glad you like it and MERRY CHRISTMAS. By the way I have now begun work on a brand new modular building. It is early stages though so will be a few weeks till it's finished. Thank you very much. Pleased you like it.
  10. Thanks very much for the comments everyone. Glad you like this festive re-make of Brick Square Post Office. Merry Christmas to you all!
  11. I've now added my newest creation to Eurobricks. It's a special Christmas re-make of Brick Square Post Office.
  12. Hi everybody This is my latest creation, a special Christmas edition of my MOC modular building, "Brick Square Post Office". Hope you like it. Twas the night before Christmas... ... and all the kids at Brick Square were getting excited, building snowmen and putting up the Christmas tree. The children had been busy writing their lists for Santa. They handed their letters to the postman, who was loading up his van ready for the last mail run of the day. He set off in to the snowy night with his precious cargo, but by now the snow was falling thickly. Then there was trouble! The post van hit a snow drift much bigger than usual. Stranded in the snow, the quick thinking Postman grabbed his phone and telephoned ahead. Meanwhile back at Brick Square everything was silent and the children were feeling anxious. It was getting late and the Postman should have returned by now. Just then a friendly whistle sounded in the distance and the air was suddenly filled with the sweet smell of steam It was Santa. He had ditched his reindeer and sleigh and instead opted for good old fashioned steam power, courtesy of The Old Workhorse Traction Engine. Don’t forget The Old Workhorse is on LEGO Ideas. https://lego.build/2vRfVGL Please spare a couple of minutes to give it your support if you’d like to see it made as a real LEGO set. Anyway, shameless self-promotion out of the way, lets continue the story ... The Old Workhorse arrived at Brick Square carrying Santa himself and all the presents for the children. And just in case you wondered what happened to the Postman. Don’t worry, he made it back home in time for Christmas Day! THE END! I hope that you've enjoyed reading this and looking at the pictures. I'd like to take this opportunity to wish everyone on Eurobricks a very happy Christmas, and all the best for 2019.
  13. I appreciate the fact that LEGO designers have to budget the amount of parts they can use in a set but this is the first modular where I've felt it blatanty obvious that the designer has had to cut corners to fit everything in. The model has a larger amount of parts than usual but they've still had to sacrifice the tiling on the ground floor interior. I'd have also liked to see interior walls to close off the staircases, unless we want to see the animals and the guy in the apartment all succumbing to carbon monoxide poisoning from all the exhaust fumes in the garage. I also think the roof top terrace could have benefited from a bit more detail. Even just an extra couple of plant pots would have made it feel less empty.
  14. Indeed! I'm pretty sure that Food Stand Dinners will have no trouble getting to 10,000 very soon. And that model has got "official set" written all over it in my opinion. I would also really like to see the Queen Victoria Cruise ship by FlagNZ get to 10,000 too. It has got just over 500 votes to go but only 27 days left. FlagNZ goes out of his to help other people get support for their projects with his Ideas showcase articles over on Brickset, so I reckon it's time we repaid the favor. Come on guys lets get voting! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/3e109877-243f-4a25-b9ad-96aa7d87ca6e I agree with you. I wish they wouldn't mix all the contest entries together with the Ideas projects on the homepage. I don't mind them being part of the same website but it would be much better if they could keep them separated. I can say that my own vote count has dropped significantly since the last update they did a few months ago. I think that this is because unless your project is close to the top of the home page then it is so hard to find them that most people just can't be bothered. Another thing that annoys me a bit is that the way the projects are prioritised on the homepage seems a bit unfair. The Playable Lego Piano has been at the top of the page now for weeks. Don't get me wrong - this is an awesome model, one of the best I've seen on Ideas for a long time. This model is hurtling towards 10,000 votes though without any problems and is very popular, so I just think it's about time they mixed the home page up and gave some other projects a chance.
  15. Awesome... I have won a prize on Day 5. Thanks very much for running this competition.
  16. Thanks! I've been lucky enough to have the model featured in a quite a few magazines over the past few months which is great, but just a shame printed media doesn't seem to generate quite as many votes as online promotion.
  17. It was designed in LDD and rendered using Bluerender. All I'll say is it's a little something I've been planning on doing for a couple of months and have spent a long time putting the images together. It will appeal to anyone who likes Brick Square Post Office. Keep an eye on the town forum tomorrow afternoon.
  18. I've managed to get my project featured in another magazine. This one is called "Old Glory" and is a specialist magazine aimed at steam enthusiasts in the UK. They've given me a full page article all about my LEGO Ideas campaign. Hopefully this might bring in a few votes.
  19. Funny you say that... One of the first things I thought when I saw the Garage was how similar the overall shape is to Sweets & Co. Although the way @paupadros has pulled it off in his MOC is far superior to the Cprner Garage in my opinion. I will admit the set has grown on a bit since it was first unveiled but overall I'm still pretty disappointed. There are some things I do like - the truck is the best vehicle they've ever included with a modular set in my opinion and I love the retro Octan sign. This does not in any way justify the large price increase though. I think LEGO have honestly shot themselves in the foot by keeping this model top secret for so long. The hype and anticipation was higher than ever because of that, and now it has left a lot of people feeling underwhelmed and disappointed!
  20. This is what really bothers me about the facade as well. Last year Mike did such a great job of disguising the separations between each floor. But this year they've given us this with ugly joints showing in the gaps at the sides of the diagonal wall. I'm sure they could have worked out a way of avoiding that.
  21. My first reaction - I felt quite underwhelmed and a bit disappointed if I'm honest. I don't think the picture on the box shows off the model from it's best angle though. It does look nicer on some of the other pictures. I would have liked the interior of the ground floor to be completely tiled over and I think they could have added a few more details to the roof top terrace. These are things that can be easily modified though I suppose. Overall it's not a bad looking set - just not sure it's worth the £30 price increase over Downtown Diner.
  22. It would be really cool if LEGO unveiled the new set live on Youtube, similar to how they do when they announce which LEGO Ideas sets have been approved for production. Hope the set lives up to all the hype. Also I really hope it is coming out on January 1st, despite the fact it's not mentioned in the store calendar.
  23. 15.00 CET would be 2pm in the UK wouldn't it? That means less than 3 hours to go!
  24. The first image of the new modular has been "leeked".
