Not had chance to make them yet sorry! Still hoping to at some point though!

I have been planning to create instructions for some time now but just haven't had chance to do it yet. When I eventually get round to making them I will of course post the details here though. By the way if you like this MOC then stay tuned to the Eurobricks Town forum. I will be posting something new next week! ...

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Bricked1980 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I think you have a good point. That image of the list would be extremely easy for anyone to fake. Another thing I notice is that it mentions the next Creator car as being a Ford Mustang. There is no mention of the next fairground set though which I would have expected to see on the list in between the modular and the creator car. -

When a garage was mentioned on here back in September, it was also rumored to have a Vet surgery on the upper floor. -

Someone on here had mentioned a couple of months ago they'd been told it would be a garage of some sort. Are you disappointed simply because you don't want it to be a garage or is there something about it in particular that makes it sound as if the set will be bad? -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Bricked1980 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I agree with the comments above. I can understand that LEGO want to delay the announcement as long as they can to help build up hype and anticipation - but they are pushing it to the point that people are starting to feel frustrated and disappointed. I only hope that the set lives up to hype when it finally gets unveiled. It does seem very strange that they would reveal the set 3 days after the store calendar comes out. I would have thought they'd want the new modular splashing across the store calendar just as they did last year. It's a major release and one of their most highly anticipated sets of the year. I find it hard to believe that they'd limit the sets promotion to a small box on the calendar just saying "mystery set coming soon" or something like that. If they could have just brought the official reveal forward by 3 days then it would have meant they could have given the set maximum exposure and promotion in the store calendar. I'm sure they know what they're doing but it does seem like an odd marketing strategy that they would decide not to promote the set in the calendar just so that they can keep the mystery going for an extra 3 days. This has caused me to start thinking the unthinkable! Maybe they will break from tradition and release the set in February. Perhaps they could give it a VIP early access during January but it would have to wait till Feb 1st before having its main release. -
I don't know much about blogging but I think setting up a page is probably easier than you'd think. You could use a website like Wordpress to host your blog. The problem as you mention is promoting the blog and building up a following. Unfortunately I don't think there is any quick or easy way of doing this except by good old fashioned hard work. As @Digger of Bricks mentioned, promoting the blog on here would give you a great start. Once your blog is up and running I think you'd then need to set up a facebook, twitter and instagram page as well to support your main blog and to help draw in traffic. Have a look at other blogs like The Brothers Brick, Bricksfanz.com, TheBrickBlogger, Archbrick etc etc. They all have twitter and facebook accounts that they use to alert people every time they've posted a new entry in their blogs. Overall I think this style of blog would suit you better than just creating an Instagram page. The problem with Instagram is that there are hundreds of people on there who just use it to do nothing else except post other peoples MOC's in an attempt to gather as many followers and Likes as they can. Sometimes they don't even credit the original designer. Finally if you do decide to set up a blog you might want to consider creating a Flickr group as well. In the past my MOC's have been featured by Archbrick and The Lego Car blog. On both occasions I received Flickr invites to add my images to their respective Flickr groups. This is a nice way of letting people know that you've featured their MOC's and is another good way of drawing traffic towards your blog.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Bricked1980 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Just checked back through this thread. Apart from the dodgy catalogue shot of DD from last November, the only other clue we had that the set was coming out was when the Pink Car appeared in the LEGO Worlds game. Apart from that we had no other hints until the January store calendar ended up being leaked on Wednesday November 29th last year. By coincidence LEGO then officially announced The Diner later that same day. I wonder if they originally intended to announce it that day or were they forced to bring the announcement forward because of the calendar being leaked. I suppose we will never know, but maybe they had intended to wait until the start of December last year as well before revealing the Diner. Sorry! Hope nobody fell of their seats after seeing that calendar shot. -
Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Bricked1980 replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
My first impression of the plane from the sky police base was "Wow, this looks a decent, fairly well designed big plane". After closer inspection though, it looks as if almost all the interior space will be taken up as storage to hold the parachute. The parachutes are nice play features I guess, but personally I'd rather have some nice interior details inside the plane. The robbers aircraft from 60209 looks like a bit like something out of Paw Patrol! -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

You're probably right. Here is an example of the July store calendar from last summer. 2 mystery D2C sets were released that month but no images or titles were revealed in the calendar. Just the wording showing that a "NEW exclusive" set would be coming out. I bet LEGO will take the same approach with the January store calendar, which is damn frustrating! -

What is the date for the next deadline then? It doesn't seem like five minutes since we had the last one. I'm pretty sure The Food Stand Diners by @Frostbricks can get there, it only has a few hundred votes left to go. Looks as if a new batch of 10K club interviews have just started to up as well. https://ideas.lego.com/blogs/a4ae09b6-0d4c-4307-9da8-3ee9f3d368d6/post/337e11fe-fe0f-4f1c-bf6b-688ae86028de -

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I must be one of the very few LEGO fans around who has never watched The LEGO movie. Despite my limited knowledge of the film I believe that the main character Emmet, lives in an apartment that resembles a Modular building. I'm wondering if LEGO might produce some D2C sets later next year to tie in with the new movie. And maybe they might produce Emmet's apartment as a large D2C modular style building in as similar approach to when they made Ninjago City to tie in with the release of the Ninjago movie. In fact is it beyond the realms of possibility that this could even be the subject for the new modular building in January??? -

Well, I think this topic works well as it is. You've got lots of people following and thousands of page views so people obviously enjoy what they see. I don't see any reason that town and castle mocs can't work together in the same topic. They are dealing with different eras but at the end of the day they are both types of architecture and many LEGO techniques that work on castles can be used in modern town buildings as well. Anyway I'd be happy to see the topic continuing on as it is. But If you want to change things up a bit, then here is my suggestion... Instead of posting 3 or more MOC's every day, you could instead focus on just one. Show us several images of the MOC from different angles and perhaps go in to detail about what things in particular you like about the model and what, if anything you'd personally change about it if you could. You could also highlight interesting and unusual techniques that have been used. In essence it would work more like a mini review of the MOC. This would probably be more time consuming for you to research and put together which is why I suggested just showcasing one model each day or maybe just 2 or 3 per week. But heck... why stop there!! Depending on how much time you can invest in this, you could even step beyond Eurobricks and create your own blog, something to rival the likes of The Brothers Brick and Archbrick. You have clearly got such a wealth of knowledge and passion about LEGO MOC's and different builders that I'm sure you could make this work! This is a great idea. I reckon this would work better in a topic of its own though. Somewhere that people can upload and share pictures of interesting bits of architecture would be really useful for modular building designers.

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Bricked1980 replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
If it did shoot real water then not only would it be messy but the stickers on the vehicles wouldn't last 5 minutes. Even if is designed for shooting out plastic rods though, I bet it would still be possible to use the pumps to suck up and squirt real water. I can definitely imagine myself wanting to do that if I was a kid. -
Having seen the official images I have changed my opinion about the house boat. It looks great on the high quality shots and all three builds look excellent. In fact I think I prefer build number 3 to the main build itself. I also love the race plane.

I think this one looks good too. I also think that although the police patrol car and the small Digger vehicle are very similar to models we've seen in the past, they still make pretty decent little "pocket money" sets. I agree. Although the concept seems a bit far fetched, I am pleased to see LEGO are trying to come up with something a bit different. -

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Bricked1980 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I don't mind a bit of story or characterisation with the minifigs, but I think they over did it with DO. The cookie smuggling storyline was far too ingrained in to the building for my liking. That was the one thing that put me off buying that particular set. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I had wondered this myself too. In fact I'm sure I read a while ago where somebody had uncovered the product numbers for next year's creator expert sets and there appeared to be one extra set than there normally would be. Can't remember if I read that no EB or another Lego site, but who knows, maybe that could end up being a modular re-release.
