  1. Yeah, true. Maybe already mentioned, but I think an interesting build would be a proper veteran car - a Ford Model A or similar.
  2. I noticed recently that there's been no topic for future landmark buildings (mods please merge/delete if I'm wrong) so I thought I'd better make one. There have been 6 landmark building sets made by TLG so far: 3450 Statue of Liberty (2000) 10181 Eiffel Tower (2007) 10189 Taj Mahal (2008) 10214 Tower Bridge (2010) 10234 Sydney Opera House (2013) 10253 Big Ben (2016) The Statue of Liberty is technically not part of this line but of the 'Sculptures' line that also includes 3723 LEGO Mini-Figure and 3724 LEGO Dragon, but I have included it here as the only Creator Expert set not officially of the 'Buildings' line that is a building known worldwide. The Taj Mahal was rereleased in 2018 as 10256. But the big question is.... what next? The building has to be something that can be sold and recognised globally, and would be a very large set (the smallest so far is the Statue of Liberty with 2882 pieces). It would also probably need to be something of architectural interest - not just a big glass skyscraper (the Burj Khalifa falls into this category). Towers are possible, but as the last one was a tower, I think it's unlikely. 10253 also had a large extension to the side which made it far more interesting. If you ignore the Taj Mahal entirely (or at least the rerelease) there have been buildings in 2007, 10, 13, and 16, so it would make sense to have one in 2019. The Taj Mahal rerelease is now the only one available, as Big Ben and Tower Bridge have both just been retired from LEGO’s range. It would therefore make sense to have one this year, with no others available apart from the Taj Mahal. So what is it? Share your thoughts in the comments below - but please no 'I want' or similar.
  3. Unfortunately it is large and expensive, being retired, or I would say Temple of Airjitzu 70751. Great work on the layout and the lighting kits really add something to the layout.
  4. Yes, but did the old pf stuff decrease in price at all over time? Does it being new make a difference?
  5. Why is 88009 Hub more expensive than the PF rechargeable hub? I have no knowledge of this hub having a recharge function - why is it so expensive?
  6. The powered up parts have been announced as individual sets on Brickset. However, the motor is a different one with far more studs and four pin holes.
  7. I quite like it. I have to admit, I was hoping that there would be enough complaints about the DD for them to return to classic faces. I think it will grow on me, though.
  8. I reckon it will include his TEE, and one of the trains for which he goes through the building process of (e.g.Bombardier Double Deck Cars last time) will be the TEE. This is great news - I read the first one cover to cover twice in about three weeks when I got it!
  9. Just seen the new 2019 Ninjago sets - would you consider doing a monorail of the Ultra Dragon set 70679? I’d be very interested to see how it compares to this one. https://brickset.com/sets/70679-1/The-Ultra-Dragon I’d also love to see any other dragon-mech based monorail, but I think this one looks particularly good. I’m currently contemplating getting a monorail, but I’m not completely sure.
  10. Yes but what about the Lego Shop@Home? It says ‘temporarily out of stock’. Is this true?
  11. I’m trying to buy the brick bank but it seems to be out of stock at John Lewis, Smyths (the website) and Lego Shop. On the Lego Shop website it says ‘temporarily out of stock’. Is this true - I know it’s being retired and want to get it before it does go, but can’t find a place to buy it from. I’m guessing the leaks will come out on Black Friday - seems a good time to announce it.
  12. Really nice MOC - if it’s what I think it is, I’d like to build one someday, though I don’t have the money right now, or the model with me. https://www.hattons.co.uk/284586/Rivarossi_1230_Heavy_Mikado_2_8_2_in_Southern_Livery/StockDetail.aspx This is Rivarossi 1230 - one of my several vintage Rivarossi US locomotives (I also have a no. 1200 4-6-6-4 Challenger and no. 1527 4-8-4 FEF). Apart from the tender, I think this is the same locomotive. From looking at Brickset, I think that (at least for this picture) dark orange would work well, though it is not a very common colour so some pieces may not be available.
  13. Even if not by the creator, it's nice to see this MOC come to life! ColletArrow, at some point in the future will you build it yourself?
  14. TLG has never done anything like it - so very very few have anything like it. If this becomes a set I can see it as being incredibly popular. My one worry is that it will be rejected because of the incompatible train track. Many don't have a train. Or if it does become a set, this feature of the set will be removed. I expect it to sell for about the same prices as a modular.
  15. Looking forward to seeing the completed train - yours are always some of the best! Will the .lxf file be available once completed?
  16. Really nice and funny MOC. I think it could be improved if there was a 'spin' lever, and a 'stop' one, possibly the same lever doing two things. I, at least, prefer it that way. It would also be good if the wheels stopped in an order from left to right - this would make more sense and IMO would make it even better. Apart from that though, great MOC and looking forward to seeing your next one(s)!
  17. Another really nice MOC! Looking forward to seeing it come to life in the coming weeks!
  18. Impressive layout and great to see 12v and 9v trains. Any idea of the part count? Apart from the station building, what's left? Do you have any space for future modular buildings - often a problem in Lego cities that nobody thinks of when building! Anyway, amazing layout.
  19. Are the new lights any brighter than the old ones?
  20. I might get 60198, or the crane car as I don't have one of them.
  21. Nice train! Can we see the interior (or what there is of one) and, even if it looks ridiculous, the train on a normal Lego R40 curve? I'd really love to. https://goo.gl/images/DT5fRE Do these coaches belong with this locomotive, and, if so, will you be making them?
  22. Some big, famous steam locomotive of an interesting shape or size, e.g. UP Big Boy (massive) or UP Daylight 4449 (streamlined). I think basically anything worthy of creator expert, but because it's IDEAS it should be like the best one they've ever made. The statement from TLC about why they're not going to make it a set is the same every time - they only bother to write something themselves when it is going to become a set.
  23. I'd like a single use building, but I don't know what, so long as it isn't a police station. Probably already said, but I'm pretty sure it's a corner building as CC (2007), GE (2010), PC (2013) and BB (2016) were all corner buildings, so ?? (2019) should be a corner building too. I'm hoping for a 16x32 modular building too at some point to make AS work better with the others and still include everything. Another set like PS that can be divided in two would also be good.
  24. Really nice. Reminds of that one on IDEAS by Rasmus Fachmann in 2013. He also made a roundhouse to go with it - will you? If you don't know it, search up 'Lego turntable and roundhouse' on google and it's the first result. He also posted the .lxf files on that IDEAS project soon before it expired, so we can still access and build it.
