    I think that it would look better with the two bays on the left and right, with the door in the centre. But apart from that, really nice.

    You've just made me change my mind about whether to get this! I simply have to put PR next to DD, and then there's no problem with the gap between the two. I might also point out that the car in the diner set is on the side where there would be a modular building with more of them.

    It looks . . . . . . alright. Though I think it would work much better as a corner building with a bit of modification. Also, I don't like the fact that they've abandoned the classic face completely now. I find this set a disappointment. Thank goodness I've got so many old faces with the basic look.

    I can. Something like the train tunnel here would also be included in the set.

    I think that the new mine works much better as an add on to the 2012 mine, but is really not that good as a standalone set. The actual mine is far too small compared to the vehicles.

    Are we even sure that this diner is the 2018 modular? Because I don't know what others think but I really don't like it.

    That Mine - the vehicles are great, but the actual mine is so disappointing! I'm so glad that I bought the 2012 Gold Mine now, but do you think that this new one would work well as an add on to 4204? If so, then I might still get it.

    Yeah, that would be good, but what would it look like? Would it use narrow gauge, a different gauge, or something totally different? Also, something like this could not have junctions like a railway does.

    My friend said today that there was going to be a UCS Hogwarts Express with multiple carriages and loads of minifigures.

    I'm more of a LEGO Train fan than Harry Potter fan, but I might get a few sets. I just hope they do a proper, really good Hogwarts Express, as the other two were disappointing. Steam trains are not octagonal, but round. I think a Hogwarts Express more like the Emerald Night is needed.

    Stephenson's Rocket or the Mallard would also be very good.

    I don't really see a pattern with the Expert Trains 2009 Emerald Night 2011 Maersk Train 2013 Horizon Express 2016 Winter Holiday Train If it is just the Winter Holiday Train out of line then 2018 would not see a new Creator Expert Train because they come out every odd year, going by that. Also, City trains have come out the years that Creator Expert Trains have not. So, though I and so many others would love to see one, unfortunately I do not think it likely that there will be a Creator Expert Train in 2018.

    I think that probably the most likely is the Santa Fe, but the full train with five carriages, as they seem to have stopped the single carriage purchase thing when they stopped making the Santa Fe and BNSF trains. I've seen the Santa Fe Super Chief converted to modern PF on Google Images, so it is definitely possible.

    May I ask what wheels you used for the train, as I am unsure whether to go BBB or LEGO for wheels, and would like to know your decision when making this.

    If there is a modular train station, I think there would have to be something like this tunnel as well. http://www.moc-pages.com/image_zoom.php?mocid=414053&id=/user_images/121722/14341278626 This would allow the train to escape, instead of having to leave a gap between modulars. It would look pretty cool, too.

    Yeah, it's just that when you first mentioned it you put 'shrug', which I took to mean it might not be that good.

    What do you think is the chance of more than just cargo train, passenger train, and station? 50%? 45%

    I think that the train theme is far too small. Extra wagons, trains, an engine shed, passenger terminal, and cargo terminal are all required.

    Any chance of instructions or an LDD file? This crane is just what I have been trying (and failing) to create myself and it would be great to have one that works properly!

    mouseketeer, your Winter Village MOCs are amazing!  Have you ever thought about entering them on LEGO Ideas?  I'm sure they would go down extremely well, and I think that at least one would reach the 10K mark.

      That's really kind of you, thank you! I haven't really given Lego Ideas much thought actually. I guess I could upload them, but my understanding is it takes quite a lot of 'campaigning' to reach the 10K threshold, and I don't know if I'd be able to do all that!
