LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Vilhelm22 replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
We’re owed a cargo harbour so much. I find it strange that TLG use 10x6x6 containers in 60169 Cargo Terminal and 60198 Cargo Train, and yet there is no harbour. The 10x6x6 containers were last seen before that in 2007’s LEGO City Harbour 7994 and Container Stacker 7992. There’s only been one harbour since then, in 2011. I also cannot think of a single harbour for people rather than cargo in the entire CITY subtheme, so 16 years or so. Basically, we’re owed a load of harbour stuff in my opinion. -

NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander 10266 being announced now confuses me even more - isn’t that technically a vehicle as well?- 129 replies

The new space set 60229 Rocket Assembly and Launch has the Windscreen 2x6x2 Train in bright blue - a new colour for that part - dunno if that’s a lead on any new possible train sets.

Excellent book! Will there be an English version soon?

Press Release: Creator Expert 10269 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy

I'm in exactly the same position as you. I basically started this thread to find out whether or not it was a train or car or something I don't want. I collect the cars, and I came to trains just too late for the Horizon Express. I really really hoped this would be a train, and now it's not. TLG had disappointed me again with trains, as it does every year. We can only hope that the rumours are all wrong, and if they're right, that there will be one next year.- 129 replies

[MOC] "A Home for Anton" - My ReBuild of 21310
Vilhelm22 replied to LegoMyMamma's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That is an excellent MOC! Have you used a single extra piece, and were there many leftovers? Is this the first of a series you will be making, or just a one-off? -
Yes - definitely. I don’t particularly like the eyes, but that’s an easy change - those sleepy eyes don’t suit him. Otherwise a fantastic MOC!

Press Release: Creator Expert 10269 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy
Vilhelm22 replied to Vilhelm22's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That train looks awesome, but if going for that style I would take a British LMS Coronation Class (6229 Duchess of Hamilton is the 1 remaining streamlined member of the class, located in York, UK at the National Railway Museum). Then again, I’m British, so I’m nearly always in favour of my own country’s trains over others.- 129 replies

Press Release: Creator Expert 10269 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy
Vilhelm22 replied to Vilhelm22's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I definitely agree with you (look at my profile picture!)! Yes, the best LEGO steam train was the Emerald Night, the best cargo train was the Maersk Train, and the best passenger train was the Horizon Express. I missed them all (just missed the HE) ?. I’ve been hoping for another proper Expert train (winter holiday train doesn’t count) for 4+ years.- 129 replies

Excellent idea - one of my favourite locomotives ever, with 6 still remaining (1 in the US, 1 in Canada, and 4 in the UK). It’s also got amazing streamlining.- 129 replies

Eiffel Tower was done in 2007 so probably won’t happen again. I see what you mean about the castle - looks amazing but is huge and not known globally like the others. The sphinx would be good, but as the only other available set is the Taj Mahal which is also nearly all one colour, I find this unlikely.- 259 replies

Press Release: Creator Expert 10269 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy
Vilhelm22 replied to Vilhelm22's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Probably not EN (a set I also don’t own) but a different steam train of higher detail but with no coach could make sense. Thought I might point out that 3 2019 sets include the 1x2x3 train window - 2 in tan and one in white. Tracer vs. Widowmaker 75970 has it in white, whilst Welcome to Apocalypseburg! 70840 and the new 10265 Ford Mustang contain it in tan. Please note if checking yourself that Bricklink has not yet been updated so does not yet include 10265 in that list, but the part is visible in the 14th picture on LEGO Shop@Home.- 129 replies

I’ve been wondering for a while what on earth Creator Expert 10269 is going to be, and as I could find barely anything about it, I thought this thread would be the way to find out more. 10269 (Vehicle D2C Set) is described on Brickset simply as that, with absolutely nothing else to tell us what it is. Does anybody know anything about it at all, apart from ‘vehicle’ and ‘creator expert’? It could be a train, a car (though unlikely as the Ford Mustang has just been released), a plane, a ship, a shuttle or something completely new. The only thing I can possibly think of is an Emerald Night 10th anniversary rerelease, though I can’t see why they would do that. Please share your thoughts on this set below. UPDATE: LEGO has revealed the Creator Expert vehicles range, 10269 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy! 1023 pieces US $99.99 – CA $139.99 – DE €89.99 – UK £84.99 – FR €94.99 – DK 799DKK – AUS $159.99 AUD Available on the 1st of August, with VIP early access from the 17th of July. Icons Landmark Buildings - Rumours and Discussion
Vilhelm22 replied to Vilhelm22's topic in Special LEGO Themes
All excellent suggestions Giacinto Consiglio! The Golden Gate Bridge would look fantastic but I'm worried about its length. I may be wrong, but I think in this theme religion is less important - I know in the WV subtheme, it's based off Christmas but not all religions celebrate it so it can't be called that - but in Buildings, a lot of famous landmarks are religious, and some would look excellent. Also, the Taj Mahal is religious - it is a tomb, and (though not part of the set) to the side of the complex is a mosque. I personally would love to see your suggestion of St Basil's as a set. Excellent idea! I'd be interested to see how they would do the half collapsed style of the Parthenon - or would they do the full-scale replica in Nashville? I think the Acropolis would be either too big a set or when scaled down the Parthenon would be too small. Thanks @Digger of Bricks! I think you're right with regards to skyscrapers, but I don't think the next one will be that as it is similar in basic shape to Big Ben (actually the Elizabeth Tower). However, I think it's possible that one in the future will be. Good idea, but I think a different bridge would be more likely as it would be more architecturally interesting - Tower Bridge, for example, is 2 main colours rather than one and is like two castle towers, and is also of similar shape i.e. 2 towers joined in the middle and at both ends, so a sort of repeat would be unlikely. The Rialto Bridge, for example, is a completely different shape, so would I think be more popular with collectors who have Tower Bridge, such as me.- 259 replies
