  1. 12V - the golden age of trains! Amazing layout - I wish LEGO still took trains seriously the way it used to...
  2. Awesome! Lego needs another football stadium - this is a perfect opportunity! Supported.
  3. This is amazing! I often find the most impressive MOCs are those that have loads of detail in a small space - this is perfect example. And seeing the prototype, I have to say I’m even more impressed. Congratulations!
  4. That’s amazing - I love seeing those sort of buildings in European cities whenever I go abroad! The accuracy of this is amazing, and for such a price too - congratulations on such an amazing MOC!
  5. Haha yeah I get your point. Is July 1st confirmed as a release date?
  6. 88009 is the individual part that you can buy straight from TLG as a ‘set’ for the unreasonable price of £40. The other is the individual part, without the packaging, that is sold by sellers parting out sets like 60198. The price is far less, as it is always cheaper to buy a set rather than all the individual parts.
  7. Thanks - I always look at the ‘set’ profile rather than the part profile, so only get the ridiculous LEGO standard prices of 88009, give or take £5.
  8. Awesome MOC! That’s been really well done, especially the windows as @SteamSewnEmpire mentioned above. I love the use of an actual wheel on the top!
  9. I find the PU motor prices absurd - I could motorise the crocodile (hub plus L motor) ... or buy the Fiat 500 (both £75 total). The 3 parts for PF cost half the price, and you can use more than two motors/lights etc. Looking at PF prices, why is a PF L motor more expensive than XL? Been watching this thread for some time, especially the motorised or display argument, but the chances of my particular set that I buy being a display set have just risen considerably.
  10. Nice beginning to a city! Is there space for the amusement park rides though - they take up a huge amount of room, especially the roller coaster. By ‘the four large fairground sets, does this include 10273 Haunted House or not?
  11. I defend agree on this front. I think these look awesome, but I’m not a licensed themes guy. I prefer sets like the LEGO Minifigure model from the very early 2000s, and notable characters of classic themes like pirates, castle, and adventurers. With the release of 10273 Haunted House, do you think there’s chance a Baron von Barron?
  12. But I meant the new 80012 technic hub, which isn’t yet revealed (I think), not the Boost hub, which also has 4 ports.
  13. @coaster I’m assuming you’ve been held up because of Covid-19 with the r104 switches - any predicted release dates?
  14. A 4 port Technic hub would allow 2x motor + 2x lights, so if designed to take them, this train could be very powerful and run in the dark!
  15. Nice! Do all those pieces exist?
  16. Nice! How many trains did you have running, and where are the pale grey straights from? (They’re obviously not LEGO)
  17. @Coal Fired Bricks - I believe @weeble1688 means that because of the demand for these parts mentioned, if you want them the prices are so expensive that just one wagon is a stupid price that would be much less if still produced.
  18. Sorry, I’ve not heard of these rumours - who and where? I’ve also heard that the new city square set coming out this year (60097 (orange tram) equivalent) comes with a yellow tram, so excited for that. If rumours are true, it turns out that this is becoming a pretty good year for trains!
  19. Nice work @Jim and @Duq! Been wanting this for years - was just waiting for another person to post the question... Anyway, this is awesome - and now I’m wondering what’s gonna happen with your future improvements @Jim. Looking forward to it!
  20. Nice! One pretty minor thing - the smaller leading/trailing wheels are the spoked, cross axel kind - not the ones used on wagons.
  21. Agreed. Though to be fair, Holger could have done a better job today, ten years on, with a much wider range of pieces available. I’ve seen his more recent creations like the TEE which are amazing. Lego has improved a lot just in the past 10-15 years, and AFOL MOCs really show this.
  22. It’s not the only one - there was one in I think 2016, which had car roofs on the noses, also in brown, which also failed to reach 10K, or even 5K. This probably regularly occurs - we just don’t hear about it because it’s so frequent and, frankly, irrelevant. As said earlier, these failed to reach even 5K, whereas the GBHQ and Jurassic Park were 10K projects, that failed to pass the review stage, but were then released later as sets, but not under the IDEAS branding. There’s been a garage modular on IDEAS before which hasn’t reached 10K yet, though posted before the release of CG on 1st January 2019. But the idea for a garage modular wasn’t stolen.
  23. Gotta say it - excellent work here. And just the addition of Nearly Headless Nick coming out of the painting is excellent! I suggest you try adding a motor - with expansion upon this model plus motors you could have multiple staircases moving at the same time!
  24. Good thing is, looking at this far higher quality render of the model by @R0Sch, there’s hopefully enough space to fit PF Battery box, Receiver + 2 x M motor if the gearing works the way I think it does. Remember it doesn’t contain powered up parts, so it may be built to take one or two if you want it to. Also, I don’t remember that type of cab window ever appearing in brown before - 60052 has it in blue, and I’ve seen it in white elsewhere, but not much else...
  25. That sort of platform has come out with all the passenger trains under the City theme - 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018. Pretty sure there was one in sets like the Metroliner too. The 2007, 2010, and 2014 sets are what I’m talking about. 7997, 7937, and 60050 if I remember correctly. These always looked awesome, and were quite easily modified to work together if you had bought two. As I said previously, pretty sure 60199 was a cancelled station.
