The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
So I guess this means we will get Superman's classic hairpiece in white for Jor El. Edit: I just realized Zod will be giving us the twelfth doctor's hairpiece in black for the first time also. -

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
Well, Lego has followed up rejected projects with similar such sets elsewhere, the 2014 UCS Sandcrawler and 2015 UCS Helicarrier being examples of that it seems. And for that matter, many Dimensions packs had been based off of licenses that had rejected projects tied to them. So I guess that could make such a set a possibility for the Winter Village series. Hmmm, I guess this is what he was speaking about in this designer video. -
Oh, I wasn't suggesting that a Light Bluish Grey recolor would completely replace the current Dark Bluish Grey variant, only to be done alongside the current one only for the Friends theme. That is, unless you're suggesting that you wouldn't want to see such a recolor altogether. Personally, the one recolor I would like to see for L-Gauge track would be in Brickset color Dark Brown, for a rusty, worn look.
-
Possibly such a set could be just like 2014's high speed passenger train, probably done in a white, lilac, and trans. light blue color scheme like the passenger plane in 2015's Heartlake Airport. Now as far as track coming in such a set, maybe they would exclude it due to its color choice of Dark Bluish Grey, which would not be fitting for the theme's color palette. I know that is an awfully superficial reason for excluding track, but I think that would definitely be considered in that decision. But hey, maybe they would consider recoloring the track in Light Bluish Grey for the theme, that I think would be cool.

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
While I'm not sure about a gingerbread house being done for the Winter Village series, I do think that small 2015 holiday train set you mentioned was indeed a possible precursor/predictor of the 2016 set. Here is a theory I proposed on @peterab's Future Train sets speculation thread about that and how I think it is entied to the lack of a succeeding Creator Expert train set. -
Is anyone counting on some sort of train set for the Friends theme in the near future, or would you think that theme's target demographic might not be interested in such a set? Personally, I go back and forth, not sure if that would ever be viable for Lego. But one thing I know for sure, is that we would never see a freight train for that theme.
-
Ohhh, those DCEU Batmobile doors look quite nice on this! I really like seeing people use those pieces outside of their originally intended purpose, especially on a non-Batman related MOC. Let us hope Lego will (if they even can) do the same!

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, but I think that angler headpiece could work great alone as the actual fish. Maybe? By the way @WhiteFang, I really don't know who specifically, but how would some of the new hairpieces introduced this theme (Lloyd's, Cole's, Kai's, etc.) look on some different CMFs from other CMSs?
-
Well, for some reason, I went with the Misako CMF. It's probably that new hairpiece with the chopsticks she dons that I really like. Now as for my second choice, it probably would be the female shark army general, since she has the closest thing Lego has done to a navy general torso design. But overall, I think it is a very well done CMS; and although many may not find the figures as themselves to be useful, I think they offer much to repurpose picked apart.

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion

Here is The Brothers Brick's review of TLNM CMS if anyone is interested. http://www.brothers-brick.com/2017/07/19/lego-ninjago-movie-collectible-minifigures-71019-review/#more-93860 -
I certainly am hoping Creator has something great in store for 2018, considering it will be both the System's 60th anniversary and the 40th anniversary of traditional themes such as space and castle. I definitely know both @danth and @LegoMonorailFan are hoping for the same thing.

2018 Speed Champions Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Rick's topic in LEGO Town
NASCAR stockcars could be possible, but wouldn't TLG need to acquire a license for NASCAR? I'm pretty sure it is brand in itself. Speaking of Chevy, if the Speed Champions theme sticks around until then, perhaps we will see a set of the mid engined C8 Corvette just around the corner. You know how long people have been waiting for a mid engined Vette? http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/future-cars/news/a32454/mid-engine-corvette-spy-photos/- 528 replies

Future Action and Adventure Themes
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I had thought of two theme ideas today that I think are both pretty novel for Lego. The first would be for an advanced, international search and rescue theme, focused on a highly equipped dispatch squad for post-catastrophe rescue missions in the advent of major disasters. Though it may sound like something more fitting as a City subtheme, this team would be armed with rubble traversing mecha, dual rotor hovercopters, search drones, hoverpacks for civilian rescues, retrieval submarines, etc. The cool thing about this theme though, is that it would be an action theme that would lack an adversary or conflict, something all too prominent in action themes currently though it may seem necessary for the genre. Now the second idea may sound somewhat too similar to Ghostbusters, but I had this idea for an action theme focused on an extermination team who help to keep their city clean of a subterranean menace in the form of giant, mutant insect-like creatures who's breading ground has sprouted in the city's sewers. The great thing about a theme like this would be that the heroes adversaries would be brick built as opposed to just minifigures, something that I appreciated about the Aqua Raiders and Atlantis themes. All of these! I can see your proposals all fall within either a Steampunk or Dieselpunk context, something I do hope we will someday see in a future action theme. Oh, as you can guess, I really like the retro space proposal I highlighted, though I do think that should have been something you should have posted on the sci-fi forum instead. It's funny that you bring up Fisher Price Imaginext, since that is a theme of the brand I sometimes am envious of as far as their play themes go. I mean, they even had a Sky-fi theme of sorts in the form of Sky Racers some years ago. -

DC Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
A D2C may be possible, but I almost feel we won't see such a set until some sort of milestone anniversary of one of the TV shows, presumably Arrow, the one that started this small screen shared universe to begin with.- 3,020 replies

DC Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don't watch any of the Arrowverse TV shows, but seriously, are they in any way of interest to TLG's core audience (6-11 year olds)? I really don't see any mainstream toy merchandising of the franchise to that particular age demographic, only those Funko POP vinyl figures that are usually aimed toward teens and up.- 3,020 replies

70613 Garma Mecha Man Pictorial Review
Digger of Bricks replied to DuckBricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
It's good seeing this set paired alongside the actual cinematic version, because in retrospect, it is a rather fair scaled down interpretation. But nonetheless, I think the set is still just "meh" compared its cinematic counterpart. By the way @legozebra, are there any noteworthy new parts or part recolors in this set that you might be aware of?- 18 replies

All. Those. SPACESHIPS!!! Amazing work you have done for all of these, they are all home runs! Now this one in particular is very nice, it's the small cockpit juxtapositioned with large, wide body that I really like. Also, the construction of the bumblebee stripes on this creation with those "cheese grater" grills is quite cool I must say.

2018 Speed Champions Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Rick's topic in LEGO Town
Great news! I do wonder though what possible cars are going to be done for Ford? As far as sport cars go, the Mustang and the GT are the only current models that fit under that category. Now I guess trucks are also an option again, just like the Raptor set we got with the hot rod in 2016. Any ideas?- 528 replies

Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
Digger of Bricks replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
That could be a possibility, but I think instead we might see such a set slated for Jan. 2019, a month after the release of the DCEU film. That is unless Lego does not continue on with the Mighty Micros subtheme for a fourth year. -

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I just watched @just2good's review of the Jelly Sub, and here I was this whole time thinking that the hammerhead/shoulder pad mold was also one part with the dual oxygen tanks. Nope, the oxygen tanks are just the same old part separate from the hammerhead headgear. By the way, have we ever had those oxygen tanks in gunmetal grey?
