LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Well, this part is actually speculated by some to be the new canopy part for the upcoming UCS Millennium Falcon set. I certainly hope to see more unprinted color variants of it in the near future. -
Here is a fairly nice project by B0OO0M that hasn't gotten much attention, but still has plenty of time to be rediscovered. Inter City Train

As in you don't think so? Perhaps do you know otherwise? -
I didn't think about the potential for new animal molds, that's something @Roebuck would be most interested in.

Survey: New parts and new colors

Brickset has just posted a new inventory of added parts that includes a better look at that new jumper plate. -

If Dimensions were to continue (which it most likely will not), it could of most plausibly have given us a pack with a minifigure version of Voltron, in the same way we got that Marshmallow Man figure for Ghostbusters. Such a figure could have looked like the depiction on this custom T-shirt. -

Nope, that's what I had thought until recently, it definitely is a new part. By the way, never mind my request, I just found that Brickset has posted the piece in their inventory just two days ago. Here is the part (no. 29096). -
Great, trains confirmed! Now as far as the return of Arctic goes, I'm kind of disappointed that we won't instead be seeing an all new exploration subtheme, but perhaps a four year recycle is the way they are going to play this out.

Very cute, I like your usage of the garbage cans for the hoods of the two racers, and how you used their 318 bar handles to clip on the headlights!

Sure, but a cinematic depiction is always many times more amazing, since those TT Games style animations are very meh. If the settings in those movies were actually brick built and the characters' movement done in a restricted fashion, maybe I would tolerate them more. -
I've visited this thread every now and then, even when I was still a lurker, and the meticulousness of your work always amazes me! Your construction, comparison, and breakdown of Emmet's Construct-O-Mech has been quite fascinating and surprising, I didn't realize how big the mech actually was cinematically! By the way @Xon67, are you interested in "assembling" any of the cinematic material from The Lego Batman Movie and The Lego Ninjago Movie in the near future?

If anyone has found the Ice Tank set, could they please post a standalone picture of that new Trans. Light Blue canopy part that makes up the construction of the mixer tank under the tail of the set? Thanks in advance if you can. -
It's a shame really, Ideas is such a golden opportunity for fans of classic themes, and many amazing projects have been submitted with not much significant success. I'm pretty sure Lego Ideas staff would love to approve of many of these original creations if they reached 10K, since they aren't based upon any intellectual properties; but AFOLs don't seem to make up for the majority of 10K votes. At least original modulars have some success there, everyone (fans and non-fans alike) seems to love those.

Well, if WB couldn't negotiate a Voltron cameo for the sequel, what if they opted for an Iron Giant one instead in the same way they've done for Ready Player One? After all, The Iron Giant is already WB property, and it would be an amazing alternative to the rejected Ideas project. I certainly know @legonerd54321 must be bummed out about those results now, so I could hope to perhaps see something like that happen, just as long as it results in a set. -
Creator and Creator expert wishlist
Digger of Bricks replied to Ondra's topic in Special LEGO Themes
While there are much more iconic streamlined steam locomotives that would be considered by Lego, one particularly lesser know example that I would love to see is New York Central's Mercury, a simple but stunning design that would be quite easy (and clean for that matter) to capture in Lego bricks. Speaking of mecha, we may see the Creator theme introduce more Japanese styled mechs after Lego Ideas' approval of the Voltron project, even for generic three in one sets. Japanese mechs certainly are a most colorful bunch, something that is quite fitting for the Creator theme. By the way @x105Black, since you are an admittedly big castle fan, what types of medieval sets would you like to see for both the Creator and Creator Expert themes? -
Same here! The theme is probably my most anticipated one, since I have hopeful expectations for it in light of the many anniversaries coinciding with 2018. But I do expect to see similar nods to those events in the City theme also. Fingers crossed!

Well, I'm wondering primarily since its sequel Pacific Rim: Uprising is slated for March 2018; but it's probably too late in the game to learn if it is a possibility for next year, so I guess it's out of the question for now. On the other hand, what about WB's developing Monsterverse, could that ever be considered by Lego? The sequel to 2014's Godzilla is slated for March 2019, while Godzilla vs. Kong will follow in May 2020. Come to think of it though, that I'd rather see done for System instead.
-
I don't if the theme will undergo a name change, that is what I originally asked about. As far as starting a new topic, perhaps Special Themes Forum moderator @Rufus may be the one to ask.
-
I would either ask one of the moderators if you could, or just wait for verifiable information since it might be possible that the theme will undergo a change of name.

Is everyone pretty sure this will be the theme's final year? I know that it has probably run its obligatory three years, so if it has not exceeded Lego's expectations, it probably will end. If so, what would Lego perhaps have in store as a successor for a girl's action theme? -
I don't see why Lego couldn't release it at least as a brand store/shop at home exclusive. I'm pretty sure most average customers would be interested in such a set even if they aren't familiar with the source material, since it is a very nice looking set.

Now I wonder if Voltron will make an appearance in The Lego Movie 2 or other future cinematic Lego films, given Lego now has a license partnership with the IP owner. The character certainly would fit well into the sequel, if we are to believe the film is as spacey as it has been said to be. -
I've recently been pondering the viability/plausibility of Lego obtaining a Pacific Rim license, and have just thought that perhaps the IP could be best suited as a Ultrabuild constraction line. Though I'd prefer a traditional System based line, I certainly would be happy with a constraction one come to think of it. What do you guys think? Could that be a possibility if Lego indeed acquired the license; and if so, would you like to see such a theme?

When I first saw the JL modified Batmobile, I really wasn't fond of it, since I thought it looked like an overclutered mess. Nonetheless, I'm really digging your take on it; and as always, you've created another great looking, compact Batmobile with plenty of extraordinary grebbling. Any other Bat-vehicles you have in mind for future creations?
