  1. I think it was designed for that purpose, but perhaps designers had an ulterior motive in making such a part. I'm not sure exactly what that would be, but the blogger over at the New Elementary blog is sure excited about it. http://www.newelementary.com/2017/07/new-2018-lego-part-spotted.html
  2. I just looked up the figure from the encyclopedia, and yeah, it looks like the same piece. Actually, I was not aware of it until @Lyichir had mentioned it. Now as far as other comic tiles, I do remember someone earlier mentioning seeing in one of the official images that there is a Chima comic tile seen in the doorway of the shop. Had you seen anything like that in the live build @Clx_45?
  3. Do you mean Stone Armor Clay in the NK Character Encyclopedia? There was a press release for that recently, unless I missed something else. Here are some of the comic tiles from the Ninjago City set pictured on the the shelves of the comic book store I was wondering about.
  4. After the spring release of Infinity War sets, what could you see being in store for summer 2018? Do you expect comic and/or Disney XD TV show based sets, or could we perhaps see a second wave of Infinity War sets given the potential grand scale of the film (that is if six sets do not cover all the bases for the movie)? There is also Ant-Man and the Wasp slated for June 6th, but I'm not sure if that film will muster more than one set if any.
  5. I tried skimming thorough the build, looking for the construction of the comic book store and eventually gave up. Particularly, I was wondering about the printed comic book tiles featured in that part of the set, and was wondering if this speed build offered a better look at them. Is there a close up of those tiles or not really? Just wondering since you watched it from beginning to end.
  6. While I would like to see a return to the Black/Trans-yellow color scheme of Blacktron I (just so we could obtain more Trans-yellow canopies), something new would most likely be the way to go. Personally, I could see a color scheme of Trans. Bright Orange on Black, with no third factor solid color. This would give the spacecraft a Tron Legacy vibe, similar to that of the look of Clu's attire and his army, really driving the "tron" prefix home. As far as the other factors go, I would like to see the spacecraft take a rounded, spherical look that I've suggested before, and the faction's depiction would be as an evil overlord's footsoldiers. Now as for their adversaries, I myself am not sure what I would want to see. By Transparent Green, do you mean the older, darker shade; or do you mean Trans. Light Green (a.k.a. "Atlantis" green)?
  7. With Aquaman being 2018's only slated film for the DCEU on Dec. 21, what material do you think summer 2018 sets will be based upon? Would you think they will merely be comic based, more based upon the Justice League Action TV show, or possibly take after the third season of Young Justice?
  8. Without a doubt, we are looking at one of 2018's SC sets, since after all, that couldn't be a custom build with that original printed canopy. I only wonder if it will be a standalone $15 set or belonging to something larger; but come to think of it, why would they give us a second $30 GT race set after this year's one? Well, having said all that, it looks like a pretty well done build, though I would have preferred it in some other color than yellow.
  9. As a conversation starter, I thought I'd ask those who comment on this thread what would you like to see from a hypothetical third comeback of Blacktron. First, what would the faction be depicted as? Whether they be a shadowy espionage agency, a band of rogue space pirates, extraterrestrials, or a army of minions under a Darth Vader/Ogel like overlord, how would you like to see them portrayed? Secondly, what sort of design aesthetic should their spacecraft follow after? Should it be a sharp Nexo Knights design; a blunt, angular look; or a rounded, spherical one? Thirdly, what color scheme would it adopt? Should it completely take after the original black/trans-yellow scheme of Blacktron I or the black/white/trans-neon green of Blacktron II? Should instead it take a whole new route with its color scheme, maybe adopting anything from black on trans. red, trans. light green, trans. purple, trans. neon yellow, etc? Lastly, who would you like to see them pitted against? Should they be explorers, space marines, mining colonies, or something else?
  10. Two things I noticed in that intro, first, these villains appear to be wearing old fashion visored racer helmets with heavy printing, which seems awfully plain for Ninjago villains. Secondly, that hanging monorail from TLNM appears twice in the intro, something I certainly would like to see better images of from the movie. Other than the cars' design, I would like to see how the monorail's track is constructed.
  11. Thanks for the hairpiece swap pic @WhiteFang! I should say, that hairpiece of Cole's works quite well on Aladdin; and on a side note, that "Mer-Angler" also works rather nicely.
  12. By the way, was there a recap of the SDCC panel for TLNM posted by anyone, and if so, was there any discussion about other upcoming cinematic universe films for Lego, known and otherwise?
  13. http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-marvel-super-heroes-2-meet-the-talent-behind-the-video-game-panel-recap/ Saw this recap article of the SDCC panel on The Brick Fan this morning, and this rendition of Cosmo with a Classic Space logo was pretty cool I thought.
  14. Well, for me, the stars of the sets for Lego Cinematic Universe themes are the builds; I mean, they really are the spotlight stealers. Sure, many of them may be scaled down from their cinematic counterparts, but for instance, if you compare the builds of TLBM sets with that of usual DC sets, the movie builds are vastly superior. If anything, traditional DC sets forgo the quality of their builds to focus primarily on the figures, whom everyone insanely obsesses over. As far as themes like Creator, Technic, Architecture, etc, those I do admire in concept; but I feel so much more could be done with them. In particular, Creator really should broaden their horizons as far as source material goes, expanding beyond modern real life source material and reaching out to include sets inspired after fantasy, historical, sci-fi, and other more fictional inspirations. This is something I've promoted on many other threads here on this forum.
  15. This may be a trailer you might be interested in for a particular reason. It looks as cool as heck! :oh:

  16. Edit: Here are a few articles from Screen Rant regarding DCEU official announcements and confirmations, including the official titling of the Flash solo movie, the official inclusion of Hal Jordan and John Stewart in 2020's Green Lantern Corps, and the announcement of eight upcoming DCEU films. http://screenrant.com/flashpoint-dceu-flash-movie-title/ http://screenrant.com/green-lantern-corps-hal-jordan-john-stewart-confirmed/ http://screenrant.com/dceu-comic-con-movies-announced-suicide-squad-2-green-lantern/ Also, Jeffrey Dean Morgan is hinting at his involment in the Flashpoint movie, possibly to play Thomas Wayne Batman! http://screenrant.com/jeffrey-dean-morgan-flashpoint-movie-batman-role/
  17. So which news site are you subscribing to?
  18. That's probably most likely the case, since Winter Village exclusives aren't released that late in the year. Someone initially posted that video on the future DC speculation thread, hypothesising that Marcos is speaking of either a DC or TLBM D2C @just2good has spoken of for next year.
  19. Hmm, that elf queen like figure dons a hairpiece that looks like something @Amazing Bricks teased awhile back on the CMS Future Rumors discussion.
  20. I just watched this about five times to take in the detail, and man, the animation airbrushing shown here is superb! While I initially wasn't thrilled about the blend of natural elements with Lego bricks being done for this film, I have to say, it looks soooooo realistic, and actually pairs quite well! That gag at the end of the trailer with the arm was fun to see, and on a product related side note, I hope we will see that hairpiece of young Misako's in a future set.
  21. You know, perhaps we could see a train set done for the Juniors theme in the near future, probably utilizing Lego narrow gauge track. Now maybe you are thinking "what use could a Juniors set be to us train fans, it's really no different than a Duplo one". Well I think one possible upside would be the possibility that such a set could finally introduce a narrow gauge straight track, something I've seen a few people voice as part they are hoping to see. By the way, since everyone in pretty certain we will be seeing the return of the train subtheme for City next year, along with the fact that it seems unlikely 2017 is holding anything else in store for trains at this point, does anyone think that a 2018 thread should be started?
  22. Wow, this is some interesting information @Nabii, thanks for sharing that! So, does it always take about around three months to design these sets, and about a year more till their release? Is that the norm, or is it usually shorter or longer?
  23. I would like to see Lego reintroduce part no. 30161 (pictured below), but with 318 bar clips instead for hinges. It was a most ideal windshield part for six wide cars that could be angled at an pitch desired, unlike many current fixed windshield pieces.
