  1. You and me both buddy! I would love to see Expert series Art Deco skyscrapers done, such as NYC's Chrysler Building or the Empire State Building. Even Art Deco modulars would be amazing, though 2013's Palace Cinema did touch upon that a bit. Here are two awesome architectural examples by Flickr user Pete Strege.
  2. A D2C for a HP revival would perhaps be the only thing I would care about for such a theme reboot, such as either a D2C Hogwarts Express or a D2C Hogwarts Castle, something both train and castle fans would really dig.
  3. Here is a most impressive project by pix027, creator of the 1950's Diner project which currently is in review right now. As of the time of this writing, it is currently a staff pick on Ideas' front page. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/c3a62287-d38c-4098-a6c0-c116fc51ea5d Remote Control Peterbilt 389 In other news, the Steampunk Battleship project by A. Graham Lego Design I mentioned on this thread earlier has passed the 1000 vote threshold, having gathered 693 new supporters this week.
  4. The other night, I was looking over Brickset's set listing for the Creator theme's entire history, and really, Creator had not done any space related products until this year's 31066 Space Shuttle Explorer. I think this is very interesting, considering Creator usually sticks to certain "tried-and-true" subthemes such as houses, cars, dinosaurs, robots, etc. Does it seem like Creator might be trying to expand their horizons for new subthemes, and if so, what new subthemes could you plausibly see the Creator theme touching upon in the future?
  5. I'm surprised we haven't heard anything yet regarding the Winter Village exclusive yet, but I guess we didn't hear about the London Bus until nearly before the reveal. After the tenth anniversary Assembly Square modular, it will be interesting to see where they go with the subtheme after that.
  6. I would have given all my votes to original CMFs, but Vacation Batman and Maleficent were too cool to pass up.
  7. Here is a Brickset interview with Creator Expert designers Morten Graff-Wang and Jamie Berard about the development of 10258 London Bus. The article at the end says to expect a Brickset review of the set tomorrow. https://brickset.com/article/29026/interview-with-creator-expert-designers-morten-and-jamie
  8. Why do you say that? The series gave us some fine archetypes for many different themes and genres, and they were all nicely designed. And hey, that Retro Space Hero... But seriously, this series will be so much better than 2018's S18, given what we have heard about it so far.
  9. It does, but for me, it's not flat enough for the usages I've visualized it for, particularly so to use the windshield for minifigure scale cars or even Batmobiles. I would hope to see a plate with the same footprint in the future or something similar.
  10. A very nice homage MOC! I like your usage of that particular windshield part, it looks nice in yellow. Say, perhaps you should consider using part no. 27165 (pictured below) and part no. 22483 (also pictured below) for future creations.
  11. Seriously? At first I thought you were talking about last year's reveals, and then I thought, oh wait.
  12. I think the Ninjago City modular may be part of a separate Lego Cinematic Universe series of modulars, and apparently, @just2good stated recently that we should expect a new DC D2C next year, with some speculating this could potentially be a TLBM Gotham City modular. Compounding this speculation is a statement by set designer Marcos Bessa that he has D2C he designed releasing this December in a Brickheadz designer video. So perhaps we could see modulars done for 2019's TLM2 and The Billion Brick Race. As far as the Creator line of modulars go, I hope to see half width 16 by 32 modulars done for a single year, similar to Amsterdam row houses. I asked about this on @Jim's Creator Expert questions thread that I've linked below, during which he interviewed Creator Expert designer Michael Psiaki.
  13. By the way, did 5004911 Crafting Kit (pictured below) eventually release? I remember seeing that polybag posted here awhile ago, and some were talking about the Classic Space themed shield seen on the packaging. If so, does anyone have good picture of that CS shield? https://brickset.com/sets/5004911-1/Crafting-Kit
  14. Same here, especially since, to me, it doesn't seem like we will see another normal regular series after S18 until Sept. 2019 at the earliest. I'm not really thrilled about a series filled with costumed characters. But I like your suggested Hanna Barbera lineup, and would like to see Lego focus licensed CMSs on broader franchises like Disney as opposed to CMSs based on just a single film.
  15. This is probably the Ideas project you're talking about, right? Monorail by Ideas user Hidaka. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/cbae1c5f-f858-4697-bd52-13dcb59871ae I found out about him awhile ago after @LegoMonorailFan cited his YouTube channel on a thread of mine, and afterwards found his Ideas project. For a scratch monorail, he has done some thoroughly impressive work! I wonder if Lego has ever considered testing a monorail concept with girls for the Friends theme, something I think could be very fitting for the theme, as opposed to a traditional railway subtheme.
  16. Where has this " Lego Universe" been hinted at?
  17. Perhaps some archetypes that could be done for Steampunk CMFs would be a "time traveler", a "inventor", or maybe just a male/female Steampunk cosplayer. Going back to the discussion regarding the viability of a Steampunk theme, it would be interesting to know what conceptual ideas specifically were tested with kids for the genre that @Nabii speaks of. This made me start thinking. Instead of your typical Victorian British styled Steampunk theme, how about an American wild west set one, somewhat inspired by Barry Sonnenfeld's 1999 Wild Wild West. Now I'm not so sure about heroes, but I would like to see the hypothetical theme's villains be a hybrid of outlaw banditos and modern outlaw bikers, riding on steam powered contraption like motorcycles instead of horses. While we're still on the subject of Steampunk, speaking of time travelers, what could you see being a viable idea for a current time travel theme? I myself can't really conjure a good idea, other than I think the theme's heroes should be a band of historical misfits, so thought I'd ask here if anyone has some good ideas.
  18. Going back again to @jonwil's Cyberpunk comments, I was thinking about one of my suggestions for 50's Jetsons style hovercars for Creator, and realized that the hovercar/aerocar genre really is not exclusive to 1950's sci-fi. Obviously, there are the 1980's Cyberpunk Blade Runner hovercars as inspiration, but if you just look up "Lego Hovercar" on Flickr, there are a wealth of amazing MOCs done under the genre. Here are a few great examples of some modern futurism styled aerocars done by Flickr user Jerac, found under this Lego aerocar Flickr group I've also linked below. https://www.flickr.com/groups/2541696@N23/pool/ I would love to see the potential next Expert series train be a 1930's American streamlined steam locomotive, perhaps done in either Sand Green or Sand Blue. Here is a great MOC example by Flickr user Tony Sava of a streamlined Dreyfuss Hudson locomotive to serve as an idea.
  19. There is a Adventure Time movie being developed by WAG (Warner Animation Group) that still does not have a set release date yet. From WAG's Wiki article: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warner_Bros._Animation
  20. Sure, there are many characters in the JP movies that fans would like to see in minifigure form. But dinosaurs are really the stars of the franchise, so that's why I couldn't see a JP/JW CMS being done, along with some of the reasons you just gave above.
  21. This looks better than I ever would have expected! I always thought that those door pieces would look too large on a DCEU Batmobile smaller than the set, but you have definitely surprised me! Keep up the good work, as always!
  22. These all are superb! Now the four turtles, those are beyond perfect, and, like @SpiderJazz said, they look like they could pass as actual products.
  23. It quite plausibly could be a Harry Potter CMS to correspond with the Nov. 2018 release of FB2, unless it is a Fantastic Beasts CMS for the sequel. Not that I would wish for either.
  24. This was a project I stumbled across that I was quite surprised to see on Ideas, since I first remember seeing it featured on The Brothers Brick blog quite a while ago. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/16366af0-b30c-463e-beb4-9015edad2bd8. Mecha Mouse (get it? ) by Baron von Brunk. Aw, that would have been a very nice project. If we were to discuss failed Ideas projects, I should mention this excellent Galaxy Explorer homage by Eurobricks user @ummester posted here about three years ago. Here are also two other awesome homage takes on LL928 by Ideas users wolf.leews and NeoMMD76. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/e171cf44-c810-4f03-8e24-6d51e5a9bcfd https://ideas.lego.com/projects/35d3f3be-5a04-4692-9f01-4743a0305147 But for me, the number one most unfortunate failed project on Ideas is Jonhall18's The Spirit of Freedom. It was almost in reach of 5000 votes! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/170cd02a-6443-4a6f-bcdd-9e9bd213e979
