  1. The user who posted this says to "take it with a grain of salt", but over on the Modular Discussion/Rumor topic, he said that the next modular building for 2018 will apparently be a train station.
  2. Like others have said here, I'm not sure how exactly how that would work in a modular setting; but, if true, that means that one of those five Creator Expert D2Cs for next year has to be a complementary train! Given the older, 1940's/1950's American setting basis of the Expert modular line, I could plausibly see (at least hope) that such a complementary train set would be an American streamlined steam locomotive, something like this pictured below.
  3. Though I'd typically would chose a traditional CMF most of the time, I just had to chose the TLNM N-Pop Girl for the first group, since I think it was so great that Lego managed to cleverly reuse TLBM Harley's hairpiece for that figure. For the second group, I went with the S17 Veterinarian.
  4. That's probably one of the most brilliant and clever uses I have ever seen for that piece! The title of your topic was quite enigmatic, so it lured me in not knowing what to expect. Certainly a most ingenious surprise, and an excellent creation!
  5. When I initially heard some of the first rumored details for these sets early on in the year, I was excited to read that Thor would finally be getting a helmet. By the time some of the earliest concept art for the film came around though, it was apparent that he would be donning a newer, less traditional gladiatorial one instead. But I must say, after looking at it in this review, I'm kind of fond of its design now. Ignoring its dark metallic color, it sort of has a retro, Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon sci-fi style about it; and in a way reminds me of Jay Garrick Flash's helmet, particularly from its side profile. By the way, has anyone ever thought of reusing Hela's unmasked face for Poison Ivy?
  6. Do you remember what colors the rollercoaster track and cars were?
  7. Given the underwhelming performance of The Lego Ninjago Movie at the box office, I'm wondering if Warner Bros. will some time next year push the release date of The Billion Brick Race over to early 2020 instead, giving both WB and TLG a little more breathing room as far as cinematic movies go. If that indeed happens, perhaps then we would have a slot opened up for a second "regular" CMS for 2019.
  8. The variant's torso print just seems to armored in design to possibly be in that one Juniors set. Honestly, he does look genuine to me, but just too uncharacteristic to be placed into a Juniors set. But, I guess his lack of either printed or dual molded legs and/or arms may make him fitting for such a set in that respect.
  9. Whatever is in store for Toys R' Us in the future, I certainly hope to see more of these CMF variant promotions in some way or another. Castle, Space, and Pirate fans would really appreciate seeing some promotional sets containing CMF variants from those respective themes, especially during their lack of a actual theme of sets.
  10. That's quite a few ties right there. Well, in order of first to last, I chose... 1. S8 Vampire Bat 2. S2 Disco Dude 3. S12 Hun Warrior 4. TLM Shakespeare 5. S16 Hiker 6. S13 Egyptian Warrior 7. S6 Lady Liberty.
  11. If you search Instagram under the tag #legoleak, there are multiple images of a Luke Skywalker minifigure said to be coming in a Star Wars: The Last Jedi set for next year. He dons a nice new hairpiece in a darker nougat color which I'm hoping will see done in potential recolors some time in near future.
  12. Dang shame regarding the Bat-Spacesuit's lack of any sort of Classic Space homage. I have to say though, I now really can't tell if those plating prints on the legs and torso are either Dark Bluish Grey or Sand Blue. Also, does the oval Bat-emblem look like it's either Gold or just plain old yellow?
  13. There was an article last month from Screen Rant which addressed this particular issue. Honestly, I'm pretty sure it's intentional for the sake of continuity. But, from what we've heard so far, that should change with the advent of The Lego Movie sequel, instead shifting the focus over towards Finn's sister.
  14. Its one thing if they are license specific minifigure parts, stuff dictated by the IP owner where they determine TLG's preexisting inventory just won't cut it (a.k.a. Star Wars). But when it comes to original properies, Lego seems to have gotten sloppier with minifigure accessories/headgear molds, not giving much consideration to their long term reusage potential. And then there are some new parts which do have promising potential, but it takes forever to see a new recolor of the part.
  15. Kind of like the inspiration models suggested in Classic theme buckets, with no minifigures? So no Earth or Sand colors? Any unusual or unique parts at least?
  16. Oh, never mind. When @K_Tiger mentioned the tenth anniversary date for the CMF line, I accidentally thought that the theme first came around in 2008, therefore making the line's tenth anniversary next year. Nope, 2010 was its introduction year, making 2020 the year of its tenth anniversary like you'd said.
  17. After looking at the new dirt bike helmet again, I just realized that its diamond shaped chin guard would unfortunately inhibit the usage of other visor or goggle parts from clipping onto it. I know the helmet is inescapably a dirt bike helmet, but still, I kind of had repurposage ideas for it when I first looked at it, particularly for Space.
  18. I saw this creation in a blog post of The Brothers Brick just a little while ago, and yeah, it is a most impressive, novel take on the Falcon in bricks! It must have certainly struck the staff at Rebrick in the same way I bet!
  19. Oh yeah, of course! I didn't even realize that was the other relevant anniversary to the Collectable Minifigure line.
  20. Though we have yet to see two done for the same theme, there is the possibility of us obtaining another one of those "Battle Pod" promotional sets. I've never noticed before that the figure has dual molded Light Bluish Grey/Black arms. If we ever did get a Gotham by Gaslight Batman, I would hope to see the figure don a cape similar to the one seen on the S17 Highwayman, to give the look of a trenchcoat-like cape.
  21. What sort of event will this be?
  22. While I typically would expect such a book to be released to coincide with an inevitable Series 20, does anyone think we might see DK Publishers release an updated CMS Character Encyclopedia to instead coincide with Series 18 next year? I'm only wondering if this will be the case given Series 18's special designation for the minifigure's 40th anniversary.
  23. Well if not, perhaps the armor piece could be adopted for a "Bat Lord" CMF, maybe with a new helmet with swept back bat wings similar in design to Thor's helmet in the MCU. In a way, 2012's Monster Fighters somewhat did fit that bill, even though it wasn't a medieval theme at all.
  24. Just simply hoped for, especially on my part. It would be a shame if they didn't though, since otherwise the figure would just be a Black suited variant of the Space Batman seen in the 2015 GL set.
  25. That Bricklink one is just brilliant!
