  1. Well, we did get the S17 Rocket Suit Boy this year with his awesome Light Bluish Grey CS torso, so just maybe we will see something like that again for next year. Honesty, I wouldn't mind costumed CMFs as much if they were more like the Rocket Suit Boy in that respect, that is, as "vehicles" for useful printed torsos or accessories like complementary new animal molds.
  2. Oh My Gosh! I love both of these ships! Their very long noses, blunt wings, and angled tailfins give these spacecraft a sort of retro, Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon type rocketcraft look, something I seriously dig! Excellent work!
  3. Say, I didn't know that the Baturion figure had dual molded legs, that's pretty cool! For that matter, the printing on those legs have no Bat insignia on them, so why not utilize them on the S10 Roman Commander CMF for a flesh tone version of the archetype? You would have to also swap the arms and head for flesh tone versions too, so practically all that would be used would be the Roman Commander's armless torso and silver helmet. Edit: Oh, by the way @makoy, will you be also doing review topics of this year's other two Bricktober packs?
  4. Huh? What the heck is that supposed to be, some sort of rough translation?
  5. Dang, you've put a great amount of detail into this creation! As little as it is, the three bundles of sticks on the center rooftop is a nice touch I really like. It's great to see more Indiana Jones creations come around every now and then!
  6. It was a really hard choice choosing among the five in this first group, all of them being figures I definitely would have been interested in. But, I ended up going with the S16 Hiker, primarily because of his great dual molded legs. My second choice probably would have been Abraham Lincoln.
  7. Same here, trick-or-treaters really are the only useful CMF archetypes that can fit within a normal City setting, whereas animal/food costume characters seem too broad and goofy.
  8. It's kind of strange, but over at the Lego Ideas team's blog, they haven't yet done a fifth 10K Club interview where one should have been done back on October 2nd, a week after the last one. So far, four interviews were done on the blog all a week apart from each other.
  9. How about a monthly line of GWP sets based upon the six miniature locomotives featured in last years TLG employee gift 4002016 50 Years on Track? Those were some amazing builds I'm sure many train fans would love to have! By the way @Agent Kallus, you've really compiled a great list of suggestions for historically themed "Icon" gift sets, I really like the Adventurers suggestion!
  10. Apparently, Disney XD will be premiering a animated Big Hero 6 TV series this November, with a second season greenlighted by Disney back in March ahead of the premiere of the first season. Big Hero 6 (TV series)-Wikipedia Does anyone think that Lego would be interested in producing sets for the show if the series were successful, at least as Juniors subtheme line?
  11. The fourth, and possibly final trailer for Justice League will be released online at 9AM EST tomorrow on Sunday. http://screenrant.com/justice-league-trailer-final-launch-time/ Edit: Here it is.
  12. Found it on 4chan also, its not too hard to find now before it gets buried under too many other posts. For medieval fans, the only thing really worth parting out from this particular figure is the head, which has red, snake-like eyes set against white skin and a fanged mouth. Others than that, his helmet, torso, and legs are all very Sci-fi oriented. But I will say, his helmet (which I'm presuming is new) is quite interesting.
  13. Arctic Planet Explorer Gender: Male. Occupation/print on torso: S13 Galaxy Trooper's armor in Dark Azure slipped over a Dark Azure torso with dual molded arms (Dark Azure upper, Silver Metallic lower). Armor part printed with an Ice Planet 2002 logo upper left, the number 92 in Orange upper right. Torso printed with a Silver Metallic upper chest plate with centered Ice Planet 2002 logo, Orange circuitry printing on lower abdomen. Type of headgear: S12 Space Miner's helmet in Silver Metallic with Orange circuitry printing on the back, Power Miners Year Two visor in Transparent Fluorescent Reddish Orange clipped on. Type of facial expression: Determined smile, with White grizzle and a Orange, single eyed HUD. Color on torso/legs: Dual molded Dark Azure legs with Silver Metallic boots, continuation of Orange circuitry printing upper. Accessory: Batman's grappling gun in Silver Metallic with Transparent Fluorescent Reddish Orange chain saw inserted and a pair of newer, CMF skis in TFRO too.
  14. Well, I've just updated the initial post with the NYCC premiere trailer, and I must say, it's rather bright and colorful compared to the tone and style of the first film.
  15. This is a discussion topic for Guillermo del Toro's 2013 film Pacific Rim, its 2018 sequel Pacific Rim: Uprising, and the franchise's potential future. Here is the official synopsis for the 2018 sequel Pacific Rim: Uprising: EW has released four exclusive stills from the film ahead of the trailer's release in this article: Exclusive: Pacific Rim: Uprising Photos Offer First Look at John Boyega Preparing to Stomp Monsters Edit: The trailer has premiered!
  16. The "computer world" setting of this rumored theme sounds interesting. Perhaps its design aesthetic will have a Tron Legacy vibe/style to it? I'd certainly be interested in such theme if it indeed took after that look, and I'm not really a constraction fan at all. Now the only thing that makes me doubt the legitimacy of this rumor is the lack of a theme name. As vague as they are, this rumor source has given us many details and size descriptions of the sets; but no theme name? I just don't know how he could of completely missed that crucial detail, unless he has either forgotten it or has decided not to disclose that part yet.
  17. Here are a few other ideas I have: A miniature model of an American, 1930's streamlined steam locomotive, such as the iconic New York Central Hudson. For a great MOC example of a miniaturized take on one, check out this great little model by Flickr user Galaktek! A Steampunk airship/zeppelin would be awesome. How about a Dieselpunk/Decopunk styled flying machine, inspired by work of Flickr user Vince_Toulouse? Three particular creations of his that could serve as the inspiration basis would be his Machine n°1, Machine n°3, and HD-Racer. That could be a great pairing also! Specifically, what sort of recolorings would you like to see for those two? How about a Pearl Gold recolor of the S9 Heroic Knight, and a recolor of the Frightening Knight from Earth Green to Earth Blue?
  18. Just saw this has been blogged by The Brothers Brick. SHIPtempber is over and it looks like we may have a winner! By the way @Siercon and Coral, do you have any standalone pictures of the ejecting ship up front?
  19. Very interesting, especially the mention of a new constraction theme. If that's true, I do wonder what will be in store. Did this 4chan commenter say when these sets were slated for release? Perhaps for the spring wave next year?
  20. How about an eight stud wide, two brick high version of windshield part 62360 (pictured below)? Such a part could work nicely for Creator Expert scale cars.
  21. Female Android * Gender: Female. Occupation/print on torso: Silver Metallic torso with Art Deco, Streamlined Moderne styled accenting prints in Warm Gold. Type of headgear: New Silver Metallic helmet with circular plate design on the sides and swept back, streamlined upper crest in Warm Gold. Type of facial expression: Straightforward and neutral, with glowing eyes in Medium Azure. Color on torso/legs: Silver Metallic with continuation of streamlined design torso prints. Accessory: None. * The inspiration for this suggestion is based upon the robotic imposter of the character Maria in the 1927 silent film Metropolis, though with a much more embellished Art Deco design and style.
  22. Though I find the packaging concept somewhat unusual, it would be cool to see more of those "Iconic" boxed CMF promotional sets done, especially after seeing this year's 5004936 Iconic Cave come with recolored variants of the S1 Caveman and the S5 Cave Woman. So if we to see more of these boxed minifigure gift sets, a few I'd like to see would be... Iconic Rocket, which would come with a Sand Blue recolor of the S17 Retro Space Hero in a rocketship shaped box. Iconic Hanger, which would come with the S3 Pilot in a Dark Brown recolor of his aviator jacket and aviator helmet. Comes in a airplane hanger shaped box. Iconic Mecha, which would come with a Dark Azure and Dark Bluish Grey recolor of the S9 Battle Mech with an Orange head under his helmet depicting his visor. Would come in a skyscraper shaped box. Iconic Castle, which would come with recolored variants of the S13 King and the S15 Queen in a castle shaped box. Iconic Space Battle, which would come with a Dark Red recolor of the S7 Galaxy Patrol and a Black armored recolor of the S9 Alien Avenger. Both come in a dropship shaped box. Iconic Space Explorers, which would come with a Light Bluish Grey recolor of the S1 Spaceman and a Bright Reddish Violet recolor of the S6 Intergalactic Girl. Both would come in a classic spaceship shaped box.
  23. For me, the Dino Island subtheme is my favorite, primarily because of large multitude of aircraft and treaded land vehicles featured through the sets. Of all four subthemes, it had the most prominent Dieselpunk/Sky-fi aesthetic to it because of all those vehicles, the tracked vehicles in particular reminding me of the Dieselpunk land craft of Beau Donnan. But if anything, his creations are most likely inspired after those sets, though in a much more hyperbolic way. Now what would I want to see from a fifth subtheme of Adventurers? Something like this idea I proposed:
