LEGO Sci-Fi 2017 Pictures and Rumors
Digger of Bricks replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I asked the original rumor source early on about the shade of transparent green utilized in these sets, and he said that it was the older, darker one. That was certainly was surprising to hear, as I thought that it is just one of those colors that doesn't fit with the style and aesthetics of most sets today. Well, it didn't turn out to be the case after all. -
LEGO Elves 2018
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Instead of wading through that bottomless pit called 4Chan, I'm just going to wait for the prelims to be posted elsewhere. Now you and others have mentioned like above that many of these animals are made up of translucent parts. Are any of these parts particularly identifiable, and what translucent colors are these builds made up of?- 568 replies

My Hopes for LEGO Batman Movie Minifigure series 2
Digger of Bricks replied to Fifulin's topic in LEGO Licensed
If we were to get another variant of Alfred, I would like see one of him in his chauffeur outfit, perhaps coming with a "Setting Limits for your Out of Control Child" book. But I guess if we did get such a variant, perhaps it would instead come the rumored D2C Wayne Manor, maybe. Also, like some others have mentioned here before, it would be nice if we saw some other gala attendees in their outfits as CMFs, at the very least Barbara Gordon.- 92 replies

LEGO Nexo Knights 2018
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Looking at them myself, yeah, it looks like Trans. Light Green (a.k.a. Trans. Bright Green), especially considering that also both the Berserker and the Twinfector share this part as a canopy. Why that part is significant is because next year's 76096 Superman Krypto Team Up features two of them in what I'm pretty sure is Trans. Light Green; so presumably, these two sets might be utilizing the same recolor. When SvL said that the trans-green featured in the antagonists' craft was the older, darker one, I did think that seemed rather unusual. But I was glad nonetheless, since it is the one trans-green color that the least parts are made in, not to mention that potential new canopies in that color would have been great for Space Police II creations. But, it really did turn out to be too good be true. But still, these sets all look pretty good, and the antagonists' rides did turn out to be quite Blacktron like in their color scheme, just like some had jokingly suggested on this topic before.- 1,601 replies

Imagine that, a Lego cinematic movie centered around the real life setting of a AFOL convention. As someone else here had once described such a proposal, it essentially would be the Avengers: Infinity War of Lego Cinematic Universe movies.

Has anyone on this topic ever suggested a Beatnik CMF? Also, how about a Mother Goose CMF? Perhaps her accessories could include a new, small white goose mold and a book with the title "Nursery Rhymes" on the cover.

Lego 60th Anniversary sets 2018
Digger of Bricks replied to TeufelHund's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for compiling this information for all those that haven't seen the catalog! I have to say though, I can't really see the theme name of this line being "Building Bigger Thinking". But, even Brickset has that name down for their entry for the five sets. If anything, I think that happens to be the moto branding of this line as opposed to the theme name. Having said that though, we actually still don't know whether this is an all new theme or just a mere 60th anniversary branding of five sets from several different preexisting themes. -
There are two particular colors I would wish to see from Lego, but I necessarily don't think they need anyway. I think that a darker, deeper shade of Olive Green would be cool, but it shouldn't get too close in similarity to Earth Green. Also, a darker take on Sand Blue would prove quite useful to me; but, just like the prior wish I stated above, it would not stray too closely to Earth Blue. I've always wondered, was Medium Azure really necessary for the Friends theme, especially after introducing Dark Azure the prior year? Couldn't Dark Azure just been used where Medium Azure had been utilized in the theme without affecting its cosmetic aesthetics? I'm definitely hoping for a much more prevalent usage of that color in the near future also!

Is LEGO entering a Dark Age - or am I?
Digger of Bricks replied to Hive's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Wow, where did you learn or hear this? For me, that is very interesting to know! I've always been a heavy proponent of the return to the Creator/Designer multiple build model for many current themes other than Creator, and the "back of the instructions" inspiration model for that matter too. But if that's the case, then I guess all my clamoring for that might just not be viable for TLG even now. Maybe? -
I'm not sure about the specific details, but I had this idea the other day for a Female Mummy CMF archetype after watching Screen Junkies' Honest Trailer for The Mummy (2017) with Tom Cruise. I haven't watched the film, but apparently it was heavily panned by critics; nonetheless, I thought that a female mummy could make for an interesting CMF. Much like the film, it simply wouldn't just be that, but more of a "Undead Egyptian Sorceress" archetype. Also, the other thought I had that day is an idea for a "Nerd" CMF archetype which would utilize a recolor of TLBM Dick Grayson's hairpiece/glasses headgear piece, perhaps recolored in Black with a Bright Yellow backdrop printed on the glasses, reflective of the figure's yellow skintone. I too would love to see a Dutch Milkmaid CMF, especially after seeing @Robert8's take on the archetype in his custom Series H!

^THIS!^ I too think that really is the only color Lego needs to round out their already well laid out color palette, a shade that sits in the spectrum between Bright Orange and Bright Red. As far as the discussion of redundant colors goes, the only two pairings I find within Lego's current palette that seem to me to be that way are Medium Azur/Dark Azur and Bright Yellow/Flame Yellowish Orange. I'm not saying that I would want either one of two within each pairing to be cut from the palette, they are just observations that at times in the past have fooled me into thinking they were the same, showing both how similar and therefore confusing their near alikenesses' can be. Ryan H. has some parts from a unreleased color called "7 Orange" that I think better fit the sort of color we are discussing here.

Does anyone think that WB may have put any potential future Lego DC spinoff movies on the back burner due to the somewhat underwhelming box office results of The Lego Batman Movie? I know there really has been nothing to suggest such a thing was ever going to happen; but with the many A-list actors and actresses that have had voice roles as Justice League members in both TLM and TLBM, I would think that WB had a potential Lego Justice League sequel to TLBM in mind for the future.

Who are/were the LEGO Designers?

Harry Potter 2018 - Rumors & Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Licensed
Along with the coinsidement of the Fantastic Beasts sequel, I wonder if Lego is rebooting this theme based upon the hypothetical possibility that the franchise and its titular character will be making a more prevalent presence in The Lego Movie 2. After the appearances of Dumbledore in the first movie and Voldemort in TLBM, perhaps Harry himself will now be appearing in the sequel.- 8,371 replies

Dang, that is one shadowed looking craft! I certainly like the color scheme of Black and Blue on this one, and its dual tiered cockpits remind me of both the SHIELD Quinjet and the LL928 Galaxy Explorer. By the way, speaking of the color scheme, what shade of Blue is used on this? Is it Bright Blue or Earth Blue?

In the Making of TLBM book, there is clay mold shown of a ponytail/baseball cap combo headgear piece that is seen worn by Barbara Gordon in the film briefly. It also has been seen donned by some female police officer figures in preliminary images of next year's City sets. After seeing it, I thought could make for a great part that could be nicely repurposed for a female baseball/softball player CMF. Also, would anyone like to perhaps see TLNM Garmadon's samurai helmet be repurposed for a potential future samurai CMF? That was just another thought I had today for a newly repurposed part which I thought would be cool.

After all the numerous variants and incarnations of Robin/Nightwing we have seen Lego do over the years recently, it certainly would be nice if we could see them level that playing field by introducing more comic based incarnations of Batgirl. Particularly, I at least would hope to see either Barbara Gordon's classic Black and Yellow costume or her Grey/Blue/Yellow one.

A "wastelander" refers to a traverser or settler of a post-apocalyptic wasteland, hence the name.

According to the catalog preliminaries, yes, it reads that they will launch in January. As far as the Modular Winter Lodge, the set has two minifigures, male and female, both in winter attire. The female figure has a reddish hairpiece and a Lime Green snowboard and the male figure has a Bright Blue racer helmet with snow goggles and two Dark Purple skis. The right side of the lodge is made up of many 2×2 roof slopes in white for snow, has a light blue door on the front, a brown brick built picnic table, and a cute, round brick built snow owl with Mixel eyes. From the catalog image though, I can't really make out the alternate builds unfortunately.

What is your favorite youtube channel?
Digger of Bricks replied to Hart New Bob's topic in Community
I don't have a particular favorite YouTube channel, but I do like to browse around the site for noteworthy brickfilmers' work, that and Lego YouTube reviewers such as ArtiFex Creation and JANGBRiCKS. When it comes to comedy, I do enjoy cinema centric YouTubers such as HISHE (How It Should Have Ended) and Screen Junkies. -
Nah, I just want to see more retro comic strip space based archetypes done for the Collectable Minifigure line, so I thought I'd just throw that out there. I've previously proposed on this topic a suggestion for a antagonistic counterpart to the S17 Retro Space Hero, a sort of Ogel/Ming the Merciless type villain to fall into that vain. Now it was certainly nice to see @Robert8 design a robotic companion for the Retro Space Hero in his latest custom CMS, something I'd suggest you check out if you haven't already.
